Congratulations South Africa .....worthy winners. I know that a lot of people are saying that maybe decisions went against NZ but ...........in the end, we still had our chances to win this match. I am a 63 year old All Black supporter from NZ and yes, it does HURT.. BUT, southern hemisphere rules again ............ we may both have been ranked 3 and 4 in the world but at the end of the day, both our teams just dug deep and showed the world just how tough we are. If i had to lose to a team, i would have chosen South Africa, consistently the best 2 teams over the past 100 years..............and that is the word that people must understand.........CONSISTENCY. Well done SA, we have so much mutual respect for each other and long may that continue. See you in 4 years!!!!!!!!! Big Jim (NZ)
Hi Big Jim. I know it hurts. As a South African rugby fan it would have hurt, really badly, had we lost. The game was everything one would expect. Uncompromising, bone crunching and, for all intent and purpose, all out rugby war. It is not just about rugby. It is about a fierce rivalry going back many, many years. Neither side wants to lose and that is evident after every SA NZ clash. Respect to the All Blacks. Our greatest, and most respected, rugby foe. Jeff (SA)
The feeling is mutual. As a springbok supporter, I can tell you I oddly found myself cheering for the ABs against Ireland as If they were my own team. That’s never happened before, because I wanted this final, and I knew losing to Nzl was preferable to a northern team in the final
I was gutted for Ireland after the quarter final. I'm a Bok fan but I honestly believed Ireland would win the whole thing, especially after the pool game against SA. I have been an admirer of Sexton for many years. Truly one of the greatest fly halfs to ever play the game. He played an old school style in the modern game and he did it very well. I was gutted for him to have missed the kick that could have won the game. Not taking him on the Lions Tour to SA was, in my opinion, the worst selection decision the Lions ever made. Ireland would have been tough to beat in the final. Monster team, humble people, much respect 👍
Thank you. Hope Ireland continues to play as well as they have. Has made the game even more interesting. You should win it if you keep up that standard!
So hard to single out a player isn't it? Handre's coolness, Ox's scrumming, sublime kick by Mannie in Scot match, PSDT!!!!!, Faf!!!!!, Eben's try, RJ's try, Jessie playing so well, Cheslin's charge down ..... who did I miss .... the coaches taking calculated risks!
Thanks in large part to NZ, which injured our only hooker in the first five minutes of the game and compelled us to play a man who debuted for the Boks at the ripe old age of 35. @@ethancoster1324
Poor Cheslin. That was a match. It was 14 v 14 for significant chunks of the second half. Even when the ABs went man down, you wouldn't have known it. They eere EVERYWHERE! Well played to everyone who took part. Without question, that was the best RWC tournament I have watched, and I've seen them all.
Agreed, there were so many class moments through group and knock-out stages, underdogs over-performing, and all held in a great spirit - RWC 2023 an absolute blinder!
@@IDF662 Of course they had a captain (Ardie Savea was VC, so he became captain once Cane was off the field). If you have a problem with it, take it up with Sam Cane, who should have been more careful with his tackle. SA also lost two guys from the field later on, so neither team had exactly an ideal match. SA just played well enough to win it (so di NZ, of course, but there can only be one winner, and SA deserved it in the end). Or are you going to say that the SA victory is false?
Absolute class by Siya... he first runs to embrace Kolbe at the end of play, knowing the agony he lived through in those final 7 minutes 😢. You Springboks are Titans of rugby and absolute gentlemen. Proudly South African. ❤🇿🇦
@@mac9954 Are you a Kiwi? You know, over the years we've seen cynical and deliberate fouls by AB's on our Bokke (as well as other teams). This final was no different. Our specialist Hooker, Bongi, got taken out in the opening minutes of the game. Frizzel dropped down and then planted his weight on Bongi's leg. He should have been red carded for that. On second watch of the match it's hard to not question whether it was a deliberate targeting of a critical member of our squad. And we felt Bongi's loss. What's a given is that that act changed the complexion of the game and the result. Our boys were forced to adapt. Cane's hit on Jesse was another such display. Yet, you won't find Saffas all over the comment section or social media crying about it. We took it on the chin (leg in Bongi's case, and head in Jesse's). We accept the result. We understand how the game works. The result for NZ was the same as SA versus Ireland for us. We missed kicks. So, we lost that game on our inability to kick. NZ lost the final on both their inability to kick for poles as well as poor decisions taken on field. They could have taken the penalty on 3 points kicked for poles instead of chasing the 7 on a try and conversation especially against our physical pack under those conditions. Just move on. *itching about it is not going to change anything!
As a kenyan I jumped on top of my table, I was watching the game on top of my table, my children thought I was crazy, on total I have broken 3 tables in the course of world cup, then went out driving celebrating like crazy, hooking, no one else was doing it, people think am crazy now, you southafricans owe me 3 tables and 2 dollars worth of baddages
Gotta say that defense from S.A is some of the finest I have ever seen, Yes there has been plenty of complaints about TMO, Ref but the ABs had there chances to win. Didn't hurt as much as 1995 but still painfull and I don't begrudge the Bokkies one bit they were superb.Much respect to S.A.
I’ve always enjoyed rugby but I don’t follow it. However this final was without question one of the most exciting sporting events I’ve seen in years! The determination of these two Goliath’s to win was palpable. Well done Springboks!
Rassie's and Jacques formula :1 - build team culture (its not about you its about the fans , the team and you are a very distant third to those two) , 2 - Get to know each player on a personal level , 3 - Admit mistakes , 4 - build the basics ( high ball , set piece) , 5 - Close relationship with the captain , 6 - Defense first then attack, 7 - be creative , 8 - pick an old players desperate to be there to inspire and mentor others , 9 - build depth and systems (rules) where no one is excempted and 10 - be grateful
It was wonderful seeing a happy image of our Charlene Princess of Monaco with fists raised in support of our Bokke. Roger Federer, we saw you too. Springbok love ❤️ 🇿🇦.
Hey RWC social team, great job getting these videos out and pumping the content. But what we really want to see is a video from the inside of Cheslin Kolbe's jersey during those last 7 minutes.
Yes I watching staring of rugby 🏉 world Cup from india country 🇮🇳 Tamil Nadu, yes, rugby 🏉🏉 is wonderful sport, congratulations south africa for winning trophy 🏆 super.
That was such a tremendous tournament! To be honest, I feel the ABs would have deserved just a little bit more in that final. But I am delighted for the people of South Africa. And also for some of my favourite all time players, like Pollard and Faf de Klerk. Pieter-Steph won them the match. He was outstanding. Some of the most intense Rugby matches ever to be played in this tournament. NZ-Ireland, Ireland-SA, France-SA, England-SA, the final.....incredible.
You can tell that the Springboks ruined the party in France for three consecutive weekends at the Stade de France. The villains of World Cup rugby. You just love to see it. We have been through a lot as a nation as far as this sport is concerned.
Story goes that South Africa was supposed to host the 2023 RWC. Money talks, and France got it. A bit of Karma in my opinion with the 29/28 win against them plus you could see that the French crowd were a bit miffed supporting the AB in the Final. LOL.
@@OBCBTTB In hindsight, South Africa should not have hosted this tournament anyway. We are in a very bad place as a nation and I'm sad to admit it. But how we lost the bid to host the event still hurts and is immoral.
@@LockedDownSpectator that might be true but that is not the point. Corruption should not be part of getting the world cup to your country (like it did with SA hosting the 2010 soccer world cup)
@@renewablefuelsanalyst8263 right... FIFA is a rotten organisation. Sepp Blatter and Joao Havelange made it a point that no country could win a world cup bid the right and fair way. Nothing could be done. I cannot - and never will - justify our country's role in that degenerative behaviour, regardless.
Well deserved on Sputh Africa for winning the cup for the forth time. NZ hardluck, we all know you'll bounce back after this. Congrats to both sides for putting up a spectacular show and performance 👏🏻🙌🏻
I am from Argentina and i´ve never seen such a lvl in the rugby championship Far away this two teams are at least two steps forward the others. Amazing show!!
I have not been very impressed with Jasper this year, but how he rode the tackle and pushed Savea and Christie back before his support arrived was simply insane.
@@Karma-qt4ji I was insanely impressed with how much power Jasper had in that carry; driving against 4/5 All-black players was terrific. Interestingly enough the ABs wanted to keep the ball in the air (I believe out of habit) but that would have just resulted in a scrum (and end of the game) anyway.
Why I feel watching rugby is like watching full of emotion movie and give every single little attentions from beginning to ending, not any other sports can give me this feeling ❤
Well done Bokke! 🎉 Well done NZ, mad respect for them every time. South Africans always respect NZ rugby. The Northerners media wanted to count us all out. But the 2 best teams in the world were in the final. Now Bokke are the best...till next time, NZ✌
What about Pieter-Steph du Toit?... That man was on fire. His tackles were on point. He really saved us on many occasions. He should be the player of this entire tournament. ❤🇿🇦
Kudos to Pollard and PSDT but please also acknowledge Faf de Klerk's heroics in the last five minutes that we've just watched. He certainly qualifies for the nickname 'pitbull'. So proud of you guys Bokke.
This is a tale of Legends, against all odds going into this world cup, the toughest road to the final. Casually reminding us of their brilliance. They are our Beloved and represent the best of us. ❤️🇿🇦
Incredible game, rugby is a of dominance but what makes this game unique is that you must play to your strengths not necessarily attack but anything which the team of players are good at. In the case of South Africa, they are great at defense and forcing their opponents to make errors. NZ had their chances and missed it. Well done South Africa.
Die bokke you guys are incredible we are proud to have players like you in SA really you made us proud you are the nation's pride may the good Lord bless you in every way
I know what happens but watching this still stresses me out🥶 Our Bokke!!! So much love and respect for the nighty ABs. May the rivalry between the two greatest rugby teams in the world live on for many more generations.
My Dad died in 2021. He would have been so happy. He played rugby for St John's College in 1959 and their record was only surpassed a few years ago. He loved the Springboks, especially Habana.
Tears will Always be in my Eyes..This Moment never to Forget..See Bryan Habana in Prayer..Thanks To All South Africans..Springboks Coaches and Next Generation Kids..❤❤❤We Go Green And GOLD❤❤❤
As a South African I cannot help to mention the Boks were helped with inconsistent red yellow card and tmo decisions..to score 3 unanswered with 13 men thats the mark of true champions
Man, it's good to watch these final minutes again. Nail biting stuff! Power House Springboks, brutal force, keeping calm, and then jubilation!! BOKKE! 🇿🇦🏉🥇 🏆..🏆..🏆..🏆
I can watch this over and over and it still gets me in the gut… One of the greatest one moments in sporting history. The springboks win a 4th World Cup from a very tough draw. Excruciatingly close 1 point wins in the quarterfinals and seminal and then making history.. cometh the moment cometh the team!! 🌈❤🇿🇦
I am so glad and inspired by the Bokke! Well done, we are so proud! I am sorry I couldnt watch the actual game as I dont have DSTV! A lot of us South Aficans cant afford it! They have the monopoly of this! Sad! Well done though Bokke!!
I made 6 predictions before the final: 1. Neither team would score more than 20 points 2. Winning margin would be less than 3 points 3. The team ahead by halftime would win 4. Springboks would lead by halftime 5 .Springboks would win 6. Springboks would win by 1 point All my predictions came true (I should have placed a bet, but I didn't) Thank you, Springboks!!!
@@mrgotitfordalow Why the doubt??? It was really easy to predict: 1. Scores tend to be lower in finals than in preceding matches (fact) 2. NO team trailing at halftime in a final match has ever won the world cup (historical fact) 3. Score margins tend to be small in finals (fact) 4. Springboks had a better RWC track record than NZ since 1995 (when they first played in the WC), having won 3/8, while NZ only won 2/8 since 1995 5. Springboks won their preceding 2 matches by 1 point I just followed history, statistics & clues ... Easy!!! Get my point???
@@Justin-gm2fi As it is with every supporter for every other team in the world. Don't think the Boks supporters are any better or any worse. Love the passion. Double cheers to the humble and gracious, though you are but the minority on social media.
the ball was held up, and it would of been a SA put in to the scrum after that, as the maul was going forward and thus the game was ended. the scrum was the last move if there wasn't a penalty after that.
would have been New Zealand ball as South Africa took it in and it was a maul that collapsed. but only a penalty would have meant that they kept going, can't restart for a scrum after time is up @@raiNofchAosFPS
The only time in South Africa that we experienced Joy and happiness was 1994, from there onwards just heartache and Sorrows and Frustration until Now 30years Later the Whole Country was united and Happy, the Springboks have brought Happiness to all, maybe the Whole Springboks must occupy the Parliament and Rule this country and show all this politicians how things shud be run without Corruption and Tenders, we need this unity but only Rugby and cricket can deliver us, we wait for another world Cup to be Happy. Welldone Boks.
I like your fantasy, but it's just that. Tomorrow they'll carry on stealing, it's a sickness, they can't help themselves. Only way is to vote them completely out of power. Will the ANC voters have the guts to vote their corrupt leaders out of power, maybe if we win the RWC again in 2027.
ABs fought with everything they've got, true Rugby legends, South African win was spectacular too, true Champions indeed. Both teams are legends, only that South Africa team had unmerited favour in this world cup. Truly happy for the Boks,...
