I love making the dots it's a change from the hundreds of hexi's I have made over the years all sizes, some I even made into quilts. It was just addictive. Love what you do. The teaching is so natural you do. Thanks a million❤ 🎉
I loved the rain too. I don’t like it at my house anymore bc it floods but I love hearing it! Also the perfection thing..reminds me how i started to do little quilts. I’m not a rule follower and get bored by precise instructions so about 30 years ago when I didn’t have a machine I found an article about “how not to make a prize winning quilt” bc I thought also our grandmas didn’t have access to all this precise machinery and templates and all. Anyhoo. So I just did my best and made a template square from a cereal box and made a quilt. 😂. So that’s kinda my technique to this day with a few added things. Did finally break down and buy a nice 5” square template but that’s about it.
Oh Momma! I found a big box of cloth scraps, cut into shapes, with a piece of cardboard, at a flea market YEARS ago. It was old old cloth and it made my heart sing. There were some blocks that the maker made too. Precious. I still have them. 💜💜💜
Hello RU-vid friend Jeri - there are no boring dots lol! Yes, perfectionism drives me nuts as an aging person. It has been a thorn in my side since forever. I love the rain too. It didn’t bother me. I had a lacing book as a child too. They would come with different color what looked like shoe laces and you would weave them into the holes. You brought back childhood memories.😊 Love your book and the dots. Received my order yesterday from your Etsy shop. Loved everything! Prompt delivery and a very nice variety of fabric scraps! Love this. One day 😉 when I get done dotted squares done I think I’ll put watercolor paper on each page and do a mini floral water color book. What fun to make the book then create even more within. Oh, my gosh! I am in love with this little concertina book 💜! Can't wait to make one. I am a member of the Aging Creatively and Gratefully group & am enjoying it so very much. I posted my dot collection recently (40 of them in neutral colors), so I certainly have plenty to make several little projects. You are such an inspiration - thank you so much for sharing your creative talents with us. By the way, I did have one of those lacing books as a child! Oh, and the rain was a wonderful addition - I have a "sound machine" that has rain as one of the tracks; very soothing.

It's been gray wet and cold most of the year. Sunday morning here,instead of a lovely long walk,at the coast, or countryside im sat crocheting a basket from scaps of wool ( i do t like waste) hence my instant attraction to a dot a day, i can recycle bits and pieces from my fabric stack. Your runniing stitches are perfect, though. 😊 I mark lines with an eraseable marker and put dots on my thumbnail with a fine tip Sharpie for spacing sometimes. 😊
Oh my gosh, listen to that rain…hopefully the little house didn’t float away. You’re going to need hip waders when it stops in order not to sink in the mud. Love the little book! How about a special thought on the paper or a cut little drawing.
Amazing dot book! I love that you thought to add the paper onto some of the pages. I'm planning to make one soon to house my package less needles, I'm always either losing them or forgetting what type of needle they are and the paper will be great to add notes to. I absolutely adore your lining fabric! Is it an eco dyed fabric? It has that grungy look that is simply amazing.

I am appliquing dots and love the projects. But I wish we had access to a good photo/s of the origi al embroidered collection to use as a stitch dictionary. That would be so very, very helpful. Could you make that available please?
