It takes a big person to admit when they were wrong. And I'm here today to say that...I was wrong about Cloud 9. There was some controversy in my Balatro Joker Tierlist a few months back where I placed Golden Joker above Cloud 9 and I've been paying for my decision ever since. I realized during this run it's actually amazing, if you can have 60 suits in your deck which gives you DOZENS of 9s by default making Cloud 9 the absolute best econ joker in the game. How high was I able to get Cloud 9? How much money did I have at the end? Only one way to find out.

I usually go for rocket, but recently I’ve been partial to resetting erratic deck on 60 suits until I get 780 9s and then getting a cloud 9 for a small Econ boost

LOL i didn't even realize until the next round when I was $1 short. I can't help it. I see a 9 and go "I need to make this usable" lol.

In my mind I had like 50+ 8s so getting those and strengthing once was less work than having 7s and strengthing them twice lol. Im not the most optimal player but I am a player...sometimes lol.

Cloud 9 got so thick that it smothered rocket that's going to space lol (Speaking of rocket, I like rocket quite a bit cuz it scales so well, grabbing it in beginning is basically a win) P.S. How's your collection going? I only have one joker to find and from there it's all about stake grind lol

I kind of wish I hadnt gotten the brainstorms to get another big econ card to see how high I could get bootstraps but I locked into it pretty early but was still a fun run. I kind of gave up on my main account, playing unlocked with mods and wild seeds has been a lot of fun but I need to go back and gets some more unlocks. I think im at 95% collection on the main profile.

Some chatter at 35:51 predicted that youtube commenters would say cloud nine is the best. Well, for econ, in this scenario, sure. It's usually average but you can scale it with more nines. That spectral that turns all the cards in your hand into a random rank, if it hits the number nine, I guarantee cloud nine will be a pretty above average pick. Same thing can be achieved via death a few times, or a few card boosters. You got the money for it. I can't level up golden joker, but I'm not ragging on my golden buddy, he's pretty clutch too sometimes.

Yeah the problem I have with cloud 9 is that making a bunch of 9s in your deck (outside of 4/5oak jokers) don't really have many synergies outside of cloud 9 and odd Todd. 6s 7s and 9s are pretty underrepresented in terms of joker synergy. So while it's decent money it's at the cost of your deck. One to the moon or rocket is better overall imo.

I had a cloud nine vanilla run where I ran into Blue Print, DNA, The Idol, Cavendish, and a bunch of Deaths really early on, was a very fun run.

Maybe do a seeded run with Cloud 9, Bull, Bootstraps, and Blue Joker. Also, this was a good run. Too bad you did not record it.

i love hiker so much, i was excited to see it so early, but then I remembered the deck you're playing on that makes cloud nine that good, conversely, makes hiker about as close to worthless as it can ever get this game. That's a huge debuff to the power of hiker. You might play a few cards that were previously buffed by hiker, over the course of the entire run, but 99 percent of the time, you won't be doing so. Also card enhancements like mult and bonus chips and gold are also debuffed so badly, since your deck is so big you're unlikely to ever see them in your hand. A deck like that is pretty much jokers and planet cards Try to enhance your jokers with wheel of fortune, there's not much else you can do.

Oh yeah hiker woulda just being riding the bench most of the time. But it would have pog to get the 1/780 odds chance of finding a previously buffed card! And yeah that's the bit with this deck. It was an April fools joke they made to make the game wacky lol. It's definitely fun but it makes most of the jokers kinda useless. Like anything that is powered up by a specific suit. Still a fun mod and definitely check it out!

It happens. Fun and frustrating thing about this game is people are pretty vocal about which jokers are better, order of jokers, hands to play, etc. Lot of passion in the community for the game. Gotta just roll with the punches sometimes. Usually if it's early on and I can test something like that without having to worry about losing the round I'll at least try it and see. Im not an expert so I learn new stuff about the game every day!

baffling how you roll so aggressively you negate the scaling for bootstraps, but then discard really conservatively when looking for 8s to strength, 90% of your score is in your joker slots, you didn't have to play good hands!

if there were other jokers that had sinergy with 9s c9 would be a lot better, otherwise you're looking to get rid of them, there is no build support for them

Yea thats my main gripe with cloud 9 to begin with. Because yea you can add a bunch of 9s to your deck but they ONLY synergies with odd todd so its not very useful for a run long term. Will it clear ante 8? Sure if youre playing a bunch of 5oaks itll do great but its just not very viable to play 6s, 7s, or 9s long term. And Cloud 9 just got a price increase too.

Haha yeah first game with the Sixty Suits mod I had a cloud 9 and than a vagabond shows up shortly after so I was basically rerolling like a madman n getting free tarots than getting $60 again each round 😮 *also a brainstorm was like in the 3rd shop 😃 Still need to play it through tho. I’ll let you know how its goes Murph!

@@murphyobv you would think but I haphazardly used a ouija n screwed myself over than ectoed only to face a phychic boss with 4 card eventually just when i finally found bootstraps!💀 i got Cloud 9 to $94 tho! Sold bull for bootstraps but got far with it had like hundreds of $ lol. Idk what cards would even get far tho. Can’t do much with Sixty Suit. If i tried this seed again tho i can probably get a bit further then ante 10 maybe probably better off finding an early bootstrap and bull seed but I noticed the jokers change when using this mod cuz i tried it without the mod and jokers were different.

@indiegamefan6030 holy moly you got up to 94 9s??? That's nuts. I kinda wanna play this again and see how much money I can make without so many rerolls. Kinda destroyed my mult by rerolling so much lol
