I'm an 58 yr old ex-beer/whisky drinking fool, ex-street fighting, ex-women chaser, retired construction working electrician and this song actually made me cry like a baby. The emotions I felt blew my mind. I pray that makes the creator of this piece feel like they achieved their goal of touching a person's soul. 🙏
this should be played as an outro for all mankind when the sun will set for the last time on Earth and when the last man on Earth will exhale the last breath. just perfection
I am always moved by this song. I listened to it a lot when a dear family friend and mentor passed from a really aggressive form of bone cancer. He was a brilliant physician and an avid sailor, building his own kayaks and sailing his sloop down the Atlantic coast. That's what I picture in my mind when I listen to this song, is his final voyage aboard the Tipsy Lady, navigating rough sea swells and rain storms to arrive at the other side on calm waters as he gently glides off into the sunset. It brings me peace of mind and a smile to my face. I hope he's out there on the water, doing one of the things he loved most in this life.
It took me 30 years but I finally achieved a goal and dream I've had for 30 long years. When I got the news that it was finally becoming a reality I couldn't believe it. This song perfectly embodies all the emotions I've felt for all those years up until now.
Oh, you've got a lot more living and listening to do. It's exciting. Wait til you discover all the other beautiful songs that give you that itchy, tickly, sunrise chill in your body and spirit. You might like Peter Gabriel, Pearl Jam, Pharrell, Rachmaninoff, Sade and millions more. Of course there's always The Beatles, too.
"I'm the king of my own land. Facing tempests of dust, I'll fight until the end. Creatures of my dreams raise up and dance with me. Now and forever, I'm your king..."
+MightyMouse350 Not until it was written down in text could I fully embrace the power of those lines. Thank you. I can listen to that part again and again.
Lyrics: I'm the king of my own land. Facing tempests of dust, I'll fight until the end. Creatures of my dreams raise up and dance with me! Now and forever, I'm your king!
@@perpetualsystems After a huge and long uphill battle of depression and rejection I can tell you firsthand that Im more happy than ever :) I hope you do too Stranger!
This song is not only trailer in cloud atlas but the ending scene of a movie where a planet crushes into earth . also bits of this is used in oblivion movie
lol that is like EXACTLY what happened to me, i finished mr robot like 5 minutes ago and absoloutely had to find this song! + EPIC series, the writers of GOT have freaking nothing on this guy!
m83 music is everything! it takes you to another world. personally i like to listen to it while skiing! you have to try it, fits perfectly: the sun, the snow, the mountains and just you, your skiis and the music. you feel like your the king of the world! this is actually my favorite song. standing on top of the hill enjoying the view and then at 2:30 i start "flying" down the mountain. just amazing
+schlumpfi10 I would like to listen to this while kayaking somewhere in the mountains and just look over the land as i get close to the edge of a waterfall. and see everything it has to offer. Life in a short summary
I actually played this in my car on my last day at a previous job as I left the car park for the very last time. Didn't disappoint in creating the right feel. :)
Moments like this, I can feel your heart beating as clearly as I feel my own, and I know that separation is an illusion. My life extends far beyond the limitations of me.
If each individual is but a drop in an endless sea, then there is meaning to life; to exist is to be a part of a whole, and being a drop within an ocean makes you part of something larger. There is more significance as drop in an ocean than there is as a single drop alone
This song was played at my uncle's funeral. He died from cancer last September. Ever since there hasn't been a time that I listen to this song without crying. I miss you everyday an I know you would have loved me no matter what
Perfect for film and tv series, shorts. Greatest work for Cloud Atlas. And love it in the background when art is shown or explained. Some songs beat 99% of the good rest and this is one of them ❤
These people know music because this kind of music makes you really feel alive and do stuff you wouldn't normally do it's inspiring I'm not joking they put me on a path that I don't ever want to get off of so now I'm addicted to their music like it's an actual drug
I am kind of disappointed that this song does not get more recognition for the beautiful piece of art that it is, but at the same time, I am glad that M83 is a smaller band. I feel that if M83 got absorbed into the higher levels of the music/media world, they would lose their meaning. They are the kings of their own land :)
It’s hard to describe, maybe not, being a mountain biker there are times the ride is so flowy, you’re at one with the trail and your bike. Every motion is a symphony, this music really describes what I feel. It’s a beautiful piece. Well done. Cheers👊
Thanks to Anthony Gonzalez to share his music with the world. That song gives me feelings that I can't control every time I listen to it. It is truly a masterpiece and I love this song and the album.
We are all fighting demons and through this song, we have a place to rest and your heads on my shoulder, mine is on yours, and everything’s going to be okay. Stay strong people, we got this ❤️
Its so great to hear how this song touched all of your lives and your best moments x its so refreshing!! On youtube comments for GREAT SONGS - it makes me realise this planet is a beautiful place and there is ALWAYS HOPE x
Pedro Henrique please tell me you guys watched it in Norwegian language, English language was really bad. Btw ragnarok was the best fucking serie EVER!!!!!
When I hear this music, it fills my soil with pleasure and happiness, and the song makes me feel as if Earth and Heaven are one. There are no limitations in this world, because we are all kings and queens of our own lands.....that sounds really cheesy, but this song is so amazing that when the song started, without hesitation is punched the subscribe button!! :D you're amazing M83!!!!
I am ze king of my own land. Facing the tempest of dust, I will fight until the end. The creatures of my dreams Raise up and dance with me. Now and forever I'm your KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is what growing up with brothers feels like. Losing contact, leaving eachother, carrying on with life without the people who you loved your whole life… this is a song I love. Reminds me of my brothers ❤❤❤
This feels like a movie at the end when someone who's passing away and their memories of their life starts to show all the journey's, struggle's, and success they made.
Graduated High School a month ago (May 23, 2024) been reminiscing my school life from Kinder to now. I had a good time. Kind of. Pretty sad to leave but maybe this is the start of my life. I’ll be able to do a lot of things that I’ve always wanted to do.
Having this song blowing thru your air pods while plunging the last shot of the night into the vein you know will be your last. This song fits perfectly. Overdose is bliss no person shouldn't feel at least once. Especially leaving this world for its last. Would be so much better
I feel the emotion of something devastating has happened and it took so long to get passed that emotion and finally he broke free and set himself on a journey that leads to a better understanding of life and acceptance that not everyone will be here forever but they will forever be here with you.
M83 is the only artist who takes me to a different world. A better world where everyone gets along with each other and lives without worries, anxiety, depression, poverty. A world where love and compassion aren't overseen by money and status. Where Ambition comes in togetherness rather than pointless wars. A dream world.
For some reason this always makes me think of David Attenborough, the stunning scenes of life he's captured, his undying love for all creatures and the well being of our planet. ❤
