Yeah… Cloud’s soldier voice is very deep and bold, but when Cloud said “Hey 🥺,” his tone became softer and delicate since it was the second time he saw Tifa cry back in Nibelheim. Rebirth is gonna destroy us, all, isn’t it. ☹️

@@hishouha imo, if they start to feel like different characters somethings wrong. Lots of people blame the voice actors, but I feel they did the best with what they had (well most anyway) But who the hell did the script changes?

Well Cloud never really had any strong friendships and he only believed his relationship with Aerith is temporary hence why he was very surprised to be offered a High Five. This is why he was so broken when Zack died because he was the only friend he really had after being excluded by most people in his life.

Surely he knows what it is. But he is very unused to actually doing it "in practice", and coordinating with and responding to someone else accordingly.

It was, a tiny bit, if I must be fully honest with myself. It came out of nowhere and storywise, served no purpose except fanservice (which I'm shameless and ship Cloud with an ever-expanding list of people so that isn't a total complaint from me, lol. But again, I recognized it for what it was). It would've been better if Cloud was putting his heart into it or at least was dressed for the part. His SOLDIER outfit next to Andrea's costume clashed and Cloud also isn't a sexually suggestive kind of person, so their energy levels were off (such as there's a moment in the dance that Andrea even does a "come hither" motion with his finger and as part of the dance, Cloud walks towards him, but with a face that reads "I just want to get this done and over with ASAP."). Cloud is so rigid that the dance wasn't cohesive. Also, on a consensual level, Andrea kind of imposed his will upon Cloud. He embarrassed himself just to get the dress needed to save Tifa, and saving Tifa was a carrot dangled over his head. Pretty much, "Do what I want you to do if you want to save your friend", which really isn't right. His speech about beauty knows no gender and about being yourself was great and a nice way to cap off that moment, but never did Cloud express an interest to crossdress. It was Madam M who told Andrea about his situation and Andrea took it upon himself to pull Cloud into the spotlight to dance with him and make his clothing change a public spectacle, just for his own pleasure. We get confirmation that Andrea knows the whole situation as he sends Leslie to bring Cloud his clothes and sword. So, forcing Cloud to make a spectacle of himself was pretty messed up. And of course, there's the fact that the moment was hella flamboyantly gay (again, zero complaints from me personally on that), but honestly...FF7 has been heading down that route for years, lol (Sephiroth, Genesis, Kadaj, lookin' at you). But it is odd to actually have Cloud cannonically pulled into it as everything given to us makes it clear that he's not gay, though I suppose there's an argument to be made about the possibility of being bi, but it would be a weak one. So yeah, I understand why you found it cringey, lol. I still mostly love the scene, despite everything above, but except for someone not liking it due to flat out homophobia, I can understand anyone that wasn't crazy about it.

@@gogipikachu4806 I don't think the"date" had the romantic vibe as with Aerith and Tifa. You can chat with Barret privately in Remake as well, too, just like the three dates, and I think it's just a pep-talk. Barret doesn't hit on Cloud and Cloud definitely doesn't hit on Barret so if you were referring to when I said Cloud likely isn't bi...don't think Barret is a good example of proving that, lol! Sephiroth would maybe be the better choice as once upon a time, Cloud was a major fan of the man, but most unfortunately, we don't don't get to see any of that, not even in Crisis Core where the two could've crossed paths before Nibelheim. Or maybe Zack, but that's a major stretch, even if Cloud stepped into Zack's skin in every way except literally and in name 😂.

@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley I personally think he might have had the same crush on Zack as with Aerith. He definitely loved him in some way. But like, who doesn't love Zack? As for Sephiroth, that mostly comes down to self esteem issues, but, there could be something going on there. I mean he does basically start staring and gawking at him in Crisis Core (for like the 20 seconds we see them together before you know...) Lastly in Barret's case, I never said Barret hit on him, in fact he reacted pretty badly, kind of how some men act after they find out their friend actually asked them out (which is bad). And Cloud did ask him, Barret states so when he picks him up. As for the Remake, Cloud just silently nods the whole time. I dont really ship this but it is kind of interesting. Oh and what the hell was that sidequest with Johnny in chapter 9? When they exit the motel theres that guy that says "no preferences we cant accomodate!" Johnny gets upset, (I also remember him telling Cloud he'd rather be there with Tifa) But Cloud says legit nothing.

@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley The og also had the scene where he almost kisses Corneo (where he can also mention Barret but I think thats just because Corneo is looking for him) and then the creepy scenes in the Honeybee inn, but in the context of lack of consent I don't think it counts.... But then again lgbt men have higher rates of being assaulted over straight men, too.

As a socially awkward 21 y/o, the secret is to stop trying to be cool. Instead, be relatable and listen to people. See real people as your guide instead of fictional people and even if its hard, learn to interact. Being cool comes naturally

I'll be honest, I was terrified the moment barrett said "Hey"

You would figure that cloud as a soldier would of had the instincts to grab the sword off his back and point it at barret's neck and say something like "who the fuck do you think you're talking too?"
