Next performance tests of our reliable stratospheric UAV. ULEP-1 is a HALE / HAPS demonstrator, Earth Observation platform with better resolution than VHR satellites and near-space research platform.
So start thinking about a PIR foam container. This is the obvious solution to the issue of stratospheric temperatures. Judging by the moderate stiffness of the entire structure, the ENTIRE hull was made of this foam.
@@pcka12 Have you never noticed that batteries have internal resistance? They heat themselves. Here, that might be a smart idea, pull Amps and drain that thing, to keep it warm.
@@voornaam3191 now you mention it I do know that (strictly speaking) cells have an internal resistance, so that rapid discharge will create heating, quite how effective this might be I don't know, all of this relates the maxim 'a 10 degree Centigrade/Celsius increase in temperature doubles the rate of a chemical reaction' which is why electrical cells work so poorly at low temperatures - a factor very much effecting electric vehicles.
@@pcka12 As the flight of this plane showed, somehow the battery did not freeze. And I bet dollars against peanuts that no one did any sealing of the battery. Why? Because the battery heats up when under load... And rather, the battery needs to be cooled rather than heated or particularly protected against frost. I am absolutely sure that PIR foam is a completely sufficient solution in this case.
We've seen solar panels put on the tops of wings, but I wonder how effective solar panels on the bottom of this airplane would be with all the light bouncing off of the cloud layer.
Given measurement units in the vid are in metric it would be safe to assume that the aircraft was flown over Europe. The FAA only has authority over US airspace.
becuase people still think earth is flat, belive that israel is defending itself and elections arent staged. this is a clowns planet. people like scientists in this video are the rare breed
That was awesome to see. I'm not sure if you are from a different country than I am but to pull off a flight like this one would have to have all the "Okays" from the FAA
Are you aware that not everybody has your German mentality? Like, it is against the rules, so you NEVER even think about it? That is very very German. You are like todlers: ah, what they do is not allowed by mommy and dead! OMG! Call the FOO! Man, they did crowd funding and they BOUGHT that airspace. Yes, billions and billions of bitcoins. Now it is THEIRS, they can legally go to the moon. All airliners and spy planes must ask permission to those two weirdo's. Has it ever occurred to you, this could be TRUE? Your government is strange enough for this. Watch your presidents. Same thing. You all are pretty weird. Just saying.
Fly is on ~21 km. Kármán line is arpund 100 km. Нe was the first person to attempt to calculate a theoretical limit of altitude for airplane flight. At approximately this altitude the atmosphere becomes so thin that aerodynamic aviation becomes impossible. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/16/Atmosphere_layers.svg/255px-Atmosphere_layers.svg.png
If you watch the video, sometimes the horizon is concave and sometimes it is convex. The curve you see is from the wide angle lense that distorts the image. While the earth is round, this observation is certainly not proof of the roundness of the earth
Nie dobrze , na ujęciu ze zwolnienia balonu, widać ze ziemia nie jest ani kulisa ani płaska tylko WKLĘSŁA😮😮😮!!!! No to, żeście teraz chłopaki namieszali 😂😂
@josephinebennington7247 Exactly, they see the curve but they just can't admit it and blame the camera lens for bending a straight line but there was a guy who sent up a balloon with two Go Pros equipped with lenses that show straight lines as straight lines and curves as curves and the Earth was still curved much to Flat Earthers' chagrin.
