Gotta say that I have never, ever, never seen a tutorial that covers so many difficult things in such a short time...with everything seeming correct and making sense. No fumbling around. No digressions. No interruptions. No skipping things and assuming we will "figure it out." All done in a tone of voice that makes it obvious that the guy (Alex) actually *knows* what he's talking about. I mean, all these different (related) topics cover so clearly and in such a short video...it's almost unbelievable. It's got me strongly tempted to try Cloudways again...although I *am* worried that so many things have changed since this tutorial was made...at any rate, thank you *SO* much for this great tutorial. You are amazing.
Wow thanks for your kind words - appreciate the support. I made this one in late Oct 2020 so everything should be pretty much the same still & there is no need to worry, the support Cloudways have is pretty nice too they will help you get your WordPress set up if you get stuck at any point. thanks again - Alex
OMG! THANK YOU! Of all the videos I've watched, you're the only one who taught how to set up the cloudways correctly. I've wasted my time on other videos, like for one hour, and have not solve my problems, HE IS TEACHING COMPLICATED THINGS and your video is straightforward and easy! others RU-vidrs like all talk, only talk!
I must admit, this video helped me to switch from Hostgator to Cloudways. I'm still a newbie and some configurations were different in Cloudflare than what I saw on the screen in this tutorial. But it did help tremendously. Thanks for spending your time making the video. I am all set up and the hosting is 100% faster.
Just perfect. Your tutorial is better than the one cloudways have. They should include your video in their website. Keep it mate. You deserve a subscription from me. Thanks again.
just found your channel. I am currently just getting started on cloudwys so this is very useful for me. your Vultr video was also amazing. Please keep this content coming. New Sub !!
Man thank you so much. This was packed with so much value within 20 minutes. I mean every second was basically value. I'm actually going to be in the process of migrating a website over into cloud ways. One question I have is my client has an email with site ground and if I choose one of the three options that you had mentioned, how can I get the email switched over..
awesome, back then I just wanted somewhere to save my videos for when I needed to teach people WordPress...so put them onto youtube :D I didn't know people were gonna subscribe haha
Hello Sir do you have any idea or do you know how to change my nameservers since my domain is already on cloudways. I already have to nameserver from cloudflare which free trial. My old hosting is Pinpoint but I really don't know why doesn't have nameserver settings there. It really appreciate for the response
Hey, amazing video first of all :) if I have wp rocket and Cloudflare what does make more sense to install in terms of speed? the wp rocket plugin or the Cloudflare plugin Thank you 🙏
Rocket has more optimizations and better compatibility usually - but only cloudflare super page cache has the cloud edge caching feature (improves first byte time around the world) - its actually compatible with rocket so you can combine them too, check the faq. Overall depends on your site and where your audience is, just run some tests and see what combination you prefer
@@IdeaSpot Hi, thank you very much for your answer :) I ended up setting up wp rocket and bunny cdn I think I got the best performance out of this solution now.
thanks for great info. question here. which one is the best one for SMTP sevice you think, if you have many email lists and have to send many emails per day? I guess 10k/day. thanks.
thanks a lot for the tutorial, on 10:53 you are setting the SMTP configuration on the server setting ... if we do this do we still need to install an SMTP plugin on wordpress ( for exemple fluent smtp) and make the configuration there as well or not ??
This is fab. But I have a question. If I setup send in blue like u did, and also had a email marketing automation tool thats not SMTP, then this send in blue limits don't get counted right on that platform. It's just where ever I'm using SMTP?
Great Tutorial..btw Little concern about Vultr uses SSD while Digital Ocean premiun NVme .... Do you go for Vultr, because price or speed? ... how about DO MVme? ...Thank you!.
Not sure what the would cause it, you can try cloudways chat support, or I also have another method here; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uwjc4kuthv4.html
Hey, Alex. Just want to thank you for your terrific tutorial video. I especially appreciated some of the performance tweaks you presented to improve performance on the Cloudways server. Also, the free Send In Blue option to get started with an Email service. What I don't quite understand is the difference between having an in-house Email address (with which your site can be contacted directly by people and perhaps provided by Rackspace)... and one that you would need for marketing purposes and using an email marketing tool like Send In Blue. Should you ever decide to provide a tutorial on how to set up these two different email platforms inside a WordPress platform (perhaps with Send In Blue and Clooudways integration), please send me a link to your PayPal account and I will make a fair contribution (there really is no such thing as a free lunch, and the workman is worthy of his hire - Luke 10:7).
They explain it pretty well here: support.cloudways.com/emailing-with-cloudways/ The transactional email services are used to avoid a lot of the rate limits and spam filters you might encounter when Wordpress sends out notifications by email. Your mailbox is separate and not related to Wordpress, I’d always recommend using google or Microsoft for a serious email address, for maximum delivery success and security against a spoofing attack. I did a free tutorial on zoho which could be ok if the email box is not too valuable. Also, no need for donations - appreciate the thought though 👍.
@@IdeaSpot Hey, Alex. Thank you so much for getting back to me. I can't believe how smart you are. Same with good men like Adam (WPCrafter) and Paul (WPTuts). But I guess you gotta keep plodding on, as you try to figure this stuff out (with a little... and a lotta help... from good men like yourself. I guess even top pros like Gary Player and Ben Hogan were once beginners too. Thanks again!
lol, you make it seem easy without the 6-7 days of waiting for ticket team to respond to migration failing on each site you try to transfer.... migration is not for begginers... prepare to run into 100 problems
@@IdeaSpot ok fair enough , i just remember way back that these things were a big deal. I was just having login redirect issues after migrating to cloudways
