When Flint Lockwood’s (Bill Hader) latest contraption accidentally destroys the town square and rockets up into the clouds, he thinks his inventing career is over. Then something amazing happens as delicious cheeseburgers start raining from the sky. His machine actually works! But when people greedily ask for more and more food, the machine starts to run amok, unleashing spaghetti tornadoes and giant meatballs that threaten the world! Now it’s up to Flint, with the help of weather girl Sam Sparks (Anna Faris) and Steve, his talking monkey assistant, to find some way to shut down the machine before the world is covered in super-sized meatballs!

I love this scene because everyone is gasping because burgers are falling out of the sky, but for Flint he’s gasping because an invention he made finally worked. Constantly failing making inventions, this one finally worked.

I know it's a small detail can be hard to notice, but once you notice it, you must admire the detail they put in. At 3:00 , a cheeseburger falls into Flint's hand and his eyes follow it from the sky to his hand. But his eyes also cross and focus on the burger which is the detail I'm referring. Fine use of detail.

I love this movie. It's the first movie I ever watched. I always loved the idea of food from the sky and it's also about trial and error. Everytime I watch this movie I always imagine a burger rain outside and I just grab one and eat it. It would solve world hunger

My parents used to read the original child's book to me as a child along with "Pickles to Pittsburgh" which, kind of a missed opportunity to not call the second movie that. This movie, no pun intended, was a treat to watch.

At LEAST ol'fashioned Sardine Fisherman Lockwood likes his Sardines, honestly-and To be fair here,if I was Flint here, I'd at least mention that (at SOME POINT OFF-SCREEN in either the movie proper and/or during the events of what led Swallow Falls to turn into a food desert only subsisting on Only fishing/eating unwanted Sardines in an economic crisis here,respectfully-speaking) why I made the FLDSMDFR supposedly as a possible way to diversify the Town's food sources (which ironically enough, IS/WAS it's inended purpose honestly) because the SARDINES are starting to get disgusting and repetitive-even to the point whereas that people are probably developing nutrition problems because of it here, unsurprisingly...

I can't help but feel overwhelmed with Happiness and Joy myself... 😀😀😃😃 I just recently watched this movie and I just feel Overwhelming Happiness and Joy, something I hadn't felt in a Very Long Time since my Childhood.... This Movie should be talked about more, I know this is Chris Miller and Phil Lord's very first film, but it really feels amazing as their other projects like: The LEGO Movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, everything they had a heavy hand in... and the Build-Up. at 2:08 to 2:50

I’m so serious when I say this is probably one of the greatest scenes In all of animation. The build up is perfect. It’s perfectly creative, captivating and thematically beautiful. It’s the perfect blend of brilliant cinematography and music to fully show off how amazing this not only feels for the main characters, but for every single character present in the movie. It’s the ultimate turning point. A ray of hope. It’s a 10/10 scene.

Sam actually says some dumb complimentary stuff after accidentally blurting out scientific amazement, because she thought it made her seem lesser attractive. Also got rid of her glasses for that. The TV host guy later even laughs at her wearing a ponytail with scrunchie and glasses.
