The track is made out of 1/2 MDF. the slot is 1/8 set to about 3/8 deep. The bit Tha is used for the braid is a 3/4 router bit that has a special 1/8 pin installed so it will stay in the stay in the slot. the depth is About .030 deep, it all depends on what you use for braid and adhesive. The braid Is from Slot car corner. it is 1/4 wide. the paint is Sherwin Williams latex enamel.
Good video, great 'how to' documenary for those wanting to build their own track. The one making this video must be quite proffesional, the way of setting up this as a documentary, having the guys telling the story, would not think this is the work of a average joe with a camera
The tight bends we used 1/4 and layered it. Use plenty of spring clamps to hold it together until the glue dries. Most of the bends we actually used the same material we used everywhere else. 1/2 MDF is quite bendable.
Nice layout, good work. Since youve been so kind to share your build and steps, I have a few important questions please.: MDF 3/4 inch? What size router bit did you use for the slot? What depth did you cut? What size Router bit did you use for the braid's recess? And what depth did you cut for that? How many inches between each slot? Center to center? What roll of braid did you use? Brand? Size? Lastly what kind of surface did you apply? I think were going to build our own too. All the tracks closed here. Our kids need this. All the best to you and yours. Ab
BUTCH Ratell the material is the same as the track surface, it is 1/2 MDF also. I put a Dado in it so I could make it fit in the track surface and make it stronger.
