Chances are your nitrate and or phosphates levels are elevated. As you dont look overstocked, so thats likely the food source for the algae. Obviously lots of sunlight doesnt help, but still needs a food source. Two good products that will help you massively. Aqua source resolve as it kills blanket weed by removing phosphates. Also doesnt cloud the water. A lot of people use it maybe 3/4 times a year as a preventative. Another good product is Envirex, which breaks down organic waste. And also lowers nitrate and phosphates.

I’m a bit puzzled as to why you would turn your air off when you turned your blade on! You really need as much oxygen as possible at this time of the year as the warmer the water gets the less dissolved oxygen it can hold! Although my pond holds a fair bit more water I’m running a 130lt air pump on the pond, an 80lt air pump on the filters and a 1 meter Bakki shower all on a 24 hour basis! I think you should try and increase the air to your pond as the benefits are many fold!

Great coment Cecil...I put a fait bit of thought into this matter. I used to run my 80L/h air pump 50% to moving bed and 50% to pond....but the air in the pond always bugged me. (Obstucted viewing and pushing food to the skimmer) switching the air/skimmer on and off 4 sometimes 5 times a day was becoming a pain. I watched a video on RU-vid created by "thep0ndman" called "are aerated bottom drains overrated & can to much oxygen harm your fish" now I run the full 80L/h in the moving bed which in theory ends up in the pond anyway. Once i made this change i kept a close eye on the fish...i have not seen any signs of gasping for air and the fish are active/eating well but realistically i should get and oxygen testing kit to really see the oxygen levels in the pond. My pond temp is sitting at 19° currently, and if it hits 20° I will more than likely divert some air back to the pond to create more movement.
