Jim....I have really enjoyed your videos for the past 6 months or so. You are a real master flintnapper and the best of all as for the ability to teach.....I feel like you`ve given me a good head start for when I start flintnapping my self...Thanks.

Wondering if a long strip cut from a cycle inner tube might be used to bind the piece to the frame. Every turn increases the total clamping force, and the amount of force is controlled by the tension you apply to each wrap. I have never tried it, but it might give the advantage of a strong full contact all along both side edges. The loose end could be secured with a piece of tape and the whole thing be released quickly. ..... I am not a flint knapper but I have used this many, many times in gluing up awkward wood joints...... and temporary repairs to car coolant hoses ;

How do we suppose they made their flutes back 14k?

The jig is pretty cool, but how did the paleo-folk make the Clovis flutes? They didn't have such a jig did they?
@paleomanjim

TheOnlyRealGMan They may have used a lever of some type, but the flutes were probably done using direct or indirect percussion. I have other videos showing both methods, thanks....

sorry, no plans for the jig, but I think any guillitine jig should be easy to convert. A friend recently converted his and it works better than mine.....jim
