Dont judge my camera work and the fact im tripping over my tounge! Just to give a little insight of everything the android screen let me down on. Maybe there are fixes but for now I'm satisfied.
T H yeah they make great videos but don’t really speak on the downsides of these units. The steering controls and the bad software they use for CarPlay ruin the whole potential of this unit. However, if all the little bugs can be solved it’s not bad especially since it looks great.
@G.D BIGGS this is an android screen sold aftermarket for the CLS. It comes with limited instructions and have major issues that I’m exposing due to the sellers not responding to the actual issues. Do you have an android screen or a factory screen?
What are all those wires you have out by the armrest and are they necessary what are they for if so is it an easier cleaner way to hide them ? and you were talking about usb does it come with the system I don't remember seeing it if so whats it for? also where are you located
Fif K yes it comes with a full set of harnesses 2usb for personal use and 1 usb with crossover cable going to factory system. A lot of aid wiring for 360 cameras and amplifier. Everything else is on the main bulk of the harness terminations.
OMG thanks I was going to get this for my 2014 7 series and 2013 GL 450 and you saved me the trouble and frustration. There’s a guy from Canada who is also having issues with this unit and he’s also got a Mercedes. 🤦♂️
Don’t be discouraged just do more research and find a better price. Because the information available is so limited people are afraid. There’s a discord group and a few people here on RU-vid I’ve found more resources and work around a. It’s a great unit just not a 1 stop shop
Thinking about getting but the os they used im my w219 broke my heart I could not get sling or hulu to work does your hulu or streaming service apps works

Wow bro I heard that its some company's out there that make this unit with cheaper internals you think this may be case because I would love to one for my w218 but not if its a headache I have one in my w219 it works great but its doesn't support Hulu or sling
My unit stopped producing sound half way through the professional install. I returned it to the retailer for a 75% refund. Not continuing with a product that already has issues during install.
Sorry man! I would’ve made the “professional” installers cover the 25% usually installer recommended and only install those products. If I did it myself I can’t see how they couldn’t. I never like pointing fingers but sounds like they touched wires and blew something. Worse part is they didn’t own up to it and blamed the device. Just my opinion. My unit has issues but it works. Not true. They actually told me the complete opposite saying there compatibility across different models. I’ve seen some guys get it working using HEX editor. Some also use tasker app to let Bluetooth default back to NTG after connecting to CarPlay. So everything works flawlessly.
pepsicola the CLS is a winner and drives great. The tech is over complicated for what it is. The android screen has a growing community and fixes are being found. I say get a 15/16 with a floating screen and just stick with Bluetooth and get a unit second hand. They each have their problems but the older android 9 units work a little better.
For all people who ordered the unit from Alibaba or different company and install be self they going to have always problem . I suggest to find proper shop who specialize with this Android unit and check after installation if everything works ok . Please don’t do your self if you don’t now to do it .
Well to be correct; it’s be mindful that any unit you buy is a retrofit and not a product made specifically for your vehicle. I went through possibly the best vendor and I still have issues. I’ve found that those issues are common but to fix will cost even more money. So regardless what or where you get it understand that it will never be as good as something intended for your vehicle and the more help you can find the better off you’ll be.
LMAO when I look back I was pretty salty! My unit has a defected mic from the factory DMP didn’t help however $7 on Amazon and a day got me good again! But yes it was Trash and I was salty!
