@@ShyDroidVA or maybe they didn't know that the listener was a shapeshifter or a monster of that sort and thought and saw the listener as a normal child without fully looking into their background. One day the listener could be brushing their teeth and start to see fangs but when they tell the speaker about their teeth the speaker said that they are fine. Little small details of their apperance or their strength have changed but the speaker will tell the listener that he doesn't see or notice anything. He will know about the listener being a monster when they get into some sort of fight at monster school which causes them to injury the other person/monster. I thought the plot twist would be a cool concept but no matter what route you choose to do it's still really good regardless💯💕

(Just to clarify none of this is against you, it's just how I interpreted thing and I enjoy and listen agnst audios so when i thought of it as being fake I thought that's what you were going for) Edit: also I guess it was also because of how much I put myself into the shoes of the newly orphaned and therefore fragile and lonely feeling child would process how you interacted with them.

While he certainly wasn't impressed with him, he ends up being attached to them enough to do "things" to those who treated him poorly.
