Egypt and other places considered to be in the middle eastern region (gotta clarify that because some parts of Africa are considered mid east) have been places with people of many shades for a looooong time- even ancient. Africa as a continent is a place with people of many colors... and Liz Taylor was banned from Egypt for a minute btw‼

@@raven_1133 Greece isn't really middle eastern either but my family's traditional food and culture has some similarities to middle eastern culture despite Greece being part of Europe I'm guessing? You gotta remember while the borders and classifications may be different now today, Egypt, the middle east, other African nations like Ethiopia I know of from the bible saying they dealt with the israelities. So africa and the middle east dealt with each other often. And the middle east and Greece were very close. Plus at different points in history these places were the most dominant cities and prosperous places among the lands. Greece was a world power. Jewish people were under Egyptian rule for awhile and Egyptians at that time were a very prominent and well known people. So those individuals really do share a strong history. I can understand why people would think that.

Whilst anyone who have researched this topic knows that Cleopatra was not black the only issue with the Egyptian guy statement is that the original ancient Egyptians were actually black and the admixture only happened much later when Arabs and Europeans invaded Egypt. By then Egyptians civilizations were already established and the Pyramids had already been built. When we say black it range anywhere from very dark(Nilotic/Dinka people of East Africa) to dark(Bantu west Africa) to light skin (Ethiopian/Kush/Nubians/Somalian/Berber of East and North Africa) to even lighter skin like the KhoiSan of South Africa which is the oldest people. Most of the current Egyptians of today are of Arabic/Mediteranean/Europeans descent mostly because after the Arabs and Europeans invaded they persecuted the original black people of Egypt many of whom escape South/were enslaved and killed or just totally marginalised. Even today if you go into Egypt you would see that black Egyptians are marginalised. So he doesn't know what he is talking about. He is clearly of Arabic descent

4:00 As a Amateur early 20th century historian whom also dabbles a bit into other historical things I find interesting, I find this fucking hilarious. Not every person who goes to Africa or who was lived in Africa just suddenly become black. Not to mention, Asia Minor is mostly either Arab or Turkic. Egypt sits right next to Asia Minor, in fact, it borders Asia Minor. Egypt is the only land bridge between Africa and the rest of the world. Of course the Suez is there but still. Also another thing about the world I never understood, why in Africa the closer you get to the equator, the more black people get? Black absorbs heat. And why the more northern you get (especially in Europe) the more white people get when white reflects heat?
That doesn’t mean everyone in Africa is black, the continent is extremely diverse. Egypt is in the North African region which has a high Arabian/Greek population. Sub-Saharan Africa is where a lot of the pure black African population lives.

No one is saying that black pharaohs or people didn’t exist in Egypt, there saying the Cleopatra wasn’t black, she was Greek/Macedonian along with a lot of people in Egypt.

The ironic thing about the whole Cleopatra situation of Egyptians complaining about it, is that the original ancient Egyptians were the typical dark skinned Black Africans. Go figure.
But not Cleopatra since she was from Macedonian-Greek roots after Alexander The Great proclaimed himself as Pharaoh and that Ptolemée took the power in Egypt after his death. Which means yes the first Pharaoh like Nefertiti or Gizeh were black but after Ptolemée took over the original Pharaoh descent, Egypt got more hellenic, and the administration were a majority of Greek and Macedonian people not pure Egyptian anymore which Cleopatra is from. So basically the people were black but not their Pharaoh anymore
