I guess this guy has never heard of brake cleaner in a spray can. That's what I would recommend using to clean up any surfaces while in the rebuild process.

the previous owner of my sv1000, didn't put in the second seal that goes on top of the piston when u put everything back together, not only that it seems they spun the threads in the frame so i had to get a size higher bolt and thread the frame to get the clutch to sit firm

Great video. Do you still have your SV1000? I'm in Melbourne and thinking a SV650/1000 ride day would be awesome. Just imagine the sound of all them twins! 🤪

Great video! I might have 2 leaks, the other might be the pushrod seal. What was the initial symptoms you had before deciding to do this job ?

Thanks. Symptoms were leaking slave cylinder. Clutch fluid leak. It made for bad clutch engagement control. I would bleed the slave cylinder and it would get better. But once I noticed clutch fluid level dropping quite quickly and then noticed fluid damaging the paint of engine cover under the clutch slave cylinder I knew I had to remove to inspect. It was easy enough. Cheers. Good luck

Good video! I took off my slave cylinder because I needed to take the whole of the side of the engine off to do the Magneto Magnets (done them?). Putting it all back on I followed a diagram that showed the longest of the two slave cylinder bolts on the RHS, shorter on the LHS. Putting it back like that has the cylinder move on the RHS bolt when you pump the leaver. I notice you have the bolts the other way around. Is that how you found them? Does your slave cylinder move at all when you pump the lever? Cheers

Yeah. That is how I found them. No it doesn't move at all. From memory one of the bolts had a spacer (maybe the longer one?) Between slave cylinder and engine cover. I really don't think it should rock at all. Mine definitely doesn't and that would bend the push rod. Hope this helps
