Watching them in real time sans any phone to record is quite surreal. Especially after what happened last year around this time with my little friend, Cee-Cee. A horrific September 2023 flooding really messed up the area. We never got a major hurricane here - but slices of little death hurricanes all summer. In fact, Ft. Lauderdale was the rainiest city in America by October 15th this time last year with over 155" of rainfall *more like 200" is my guesstimate. I tried to propagate this without sounding like a conspiracy theorist (which I am cuz they become facts in the longrun) but what still kills me softly is how I swore that I would get Cee-Cee inside before a hurricane. Instead we had 'Once in a Thousand-Years' flood events, other wickedly wild rain and flooding but what really f'ed things up was this time last September 2023. Cee-Cee survived the storm outdoors somewhere but when he finally returned, two other cats - possibly brothers - Cowboy and Splotch found the area sans any markings. No scents due to soooooooooo much rain, hell, the entire area had been upturned. Cee-Cee was chased off his own territory and he was always alone, nobody to protect him, not even his mother, GK. He finally returned and ate as though he'd been hiding up in a tree for days with no food nor water. Then he has scratching at his ears. Then a bizarre cold front moved in on October 15th, dropped down 40 degrees and was super windy. Then... and only then, Cee-Cee went missing on October 17, 2023. Seeing his siblings (same mother/father different litters) is just so mindtwisting. Oh well, if you've read this far thank you, please look out for the homeless cats in your neighborhoods... because each and every one of them has a story (as we all do) but some just need your help. Water, food... whatever you can do to help.
