The scene where Adina finds out the truth and ensuing car hijinks is legendary, hahaha! Her reaction was comical, but perfect. I like this channel, not being much of a movie watcher.
adina not even darskinned she a light bright too not too far from brandi. i feel like they could’ve got a real dark skinned woman but i’m assuming they didn’t wanna take any risks
Girl Clive and Adina were down bad asf 😂😭😭 like tooo miserable but I do have a request would you ever review The Wood I feel like nobody really talks about this movie ❤️❤️ love your channel
Ooohhh no you didn't do one of my favorite movies! We gotta be around the same age. Around late '97 my mother bought this movie on tape & I watched it damn near everyday for months! I got the movie on DVD now & I agree this movie don't get alot of praise like other movies like Woo & Booty Call. Great vid again sis🔥❤️ My favorite line in the movie: "hell she don't want him swing them jingle bells to Denise(I think that's what he said😂)cause I'd ring them RITE!"😂😂😂
This is a classic fr you should watch caught up too Poor choices and bad luck land a Los Angelean (Bokeem Woodbine) in prison and in other scrapes with a new girlfriend (Cynda Williams). Initial release: February 27, 1998
I always like this movie especially when Adina put Clyde in the Buck sex move when they having sex instead of the man doing it to the woman lol n the dude that plays montrell plays n directed tales from the hood too so do Adina n Clyde also n I think the funeral home devil plays on this movie too lol
I see why this movie wasn’t as popular. It’s trash asf. What kinda “friends” would be this delusional & don’t wanna see their friends happy w someone. That’s bold asf how they broke up. 🤨 I love your channel btw🫶🏼
OMG, I rented this once...it was sooooo bad!!! I wanted to love this movie, but it was bad. BAAAAD!!! 😢😢😢 Love Tisha, loooove Paula, Joe Torry was funny as a stand-up, but his acting was sketchy at best...unfortunately Rusty Cundieff just wasn't that dude. Such a waste.
@@forthenostalgia I ask cause when you said flawgin I was like "let me see something 😆 " that's and old miami slang someone been listening to uncle Al 😆
heyy for the nostalgia i love all your content and wanted to know if you had an email address or some way to discuss your format background and how you started this thank you if you read this
I never noticed before, and this was probably because I was a kid when I saw this. But I notice that the dark skin couple are the more evil ones while the light shade ones. For those who dont know what I am talking about, in movies (especially long ago to today) light skin characters, especially female characters, are always considered the most desirable, kind and sweet ones. While the darker shades are bad and slutty and are just normally portrayed in a bad light. Especially with Tisha Campbell's characters, in some movies and series (especially Martin. She was REALLY light in that show. I don't know if it was bad makeup or lightning, but in some episodes, she could be passing), she always plays the love interest or the good person.
True but in this movie the light bright director who also starred addressed stereotypes against light skin people and regardless of Clyde Adina skin color the point was about how friends can hate on you
Super late but I agree with your comment. I especially noticed this in House Party and Class Act. Tisha Campbell (Martin) and Karyn Parsons (Fresh Prince) played good girl characters who lived in nice houses in the subrubans, meanwhile the dark skin chicks were slumming it in the hood/projects.
@@SuperTiaanBro Well this and Tales from the Hood Rusty Cundief spoke about he was speaking on those stereotypes that’s why both movies full of examples
Girl I forgot the late John Witherspoon was the cop 🤣 I hollered! Thank you so much for being so kind and generous with your time- it's much appreciated!! Hugs from an Afro in Asia 🌺 My girl Paula reminds me of the actress Fairuza Balk from the Craft 🤣 her and the beautiful Issa Rae got ALL the teeth 😂😂
I felt Brandi when she was venting to Adina and said "How come every man I ever cared about dogs me out?" I felt that one 😩💔 just the emotion and crack in her voice was relatable at least to me
I always forget this movie. I think they advertised like another “Booty call” back then, but it really had a different tone. Joe Torry always played a hater in the 90s 😅 He stayed mad, in every movie. Great review 👏🏾
Unpopular opinion but Montell doesn't get anywhere near as much flack as he should for his part in the shenanigans lol. If he hadn't been trying to flex with Veronica, he wouldn't have gotten caught up in the first place. Also, was Veronica supposed to be actually crying? Idk why but I always just thought she was playing up the moment so that Brandi would hear the noises and jump to the conclusion they were smashing.
Nah lol she was really crying,Montell broke her down that wasn't apart of the plan..Which still made that situation look bad and it was bad timing..We can blame Montell for falling for the trap but it was still a trap setup by his own messed up friend..We can also blame Brandi for not trusting Montell
41:03 My friends met in May 2020, moved in June 2020, got her pregnant July 2020, had the baby a premie March 8, 2021 and got married by the hospital chapel the same day the baby was born….2 years later they’re still together!! That’s moving to fast frfr 😂😂💯💯💯💯
I wanted Adina and Clyde to get together from the very beginning. They were actually the couple I was rooting for but I was 14 when I first found this movie in my mom’s collection.
This movie is dope, but the soundtrack "don't ask my neighbor" with Miss Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold? Girl, that's one of my most favorite songs of all time. They tore that joint up! That's one thing I miss about 90s black movies. Not only was the movie fly, but that soundtrack was bangin
I’m loving this channel & i just subscribed to it. I watched this movie for the first time last week. Fun Fact: Rusty Condieff, Paula Jai Parker, Joe Torry & the late Clarence Williams III were in Tales From The Hood as well. Tisha Campbell & Rusty Condieff were also in School Daze & Tisha Campbell & the late John Witherspoon were also in House Party & Boomerang as well. Can we get please get reviews on other forgotten 90s movies such as Talking Dirty After Dark, Strictly Business & Living Large.
It's been YEEEAARRRSS since I watched this but damn if I never noticed how Adina served LEWKS this entire movie. I'm glad Paula Jai Parker is still a working actress, mostly in voice overs now, but still.
The sex scene wit Clyde and Adina is one of my favorite scenes in movie history 😂😂😂😂 I’m so happy you ain’t edit that out “Clyde Clyde Clyde up in that” 😂😂😂😂😂
This movie has a special place in me in my wife heart. We went to see it in the movie theater in high school together. Married 20 years and we have the movie on DVD.
I think you did a great job as always! ❤ What I will say about this movie is that I’m glad they didn’t do what a lot of films (especially of a certain time and for a while myself believe in the trope) is that they didn’t make the “good girl” and the “bad boy” fall in love. It wasn’t a stereotypical story of the “inexperience innocent” girl and the guy who “lived life on the edge/wild side” force to fall in love and get out of their comfort zones or for them to play some type of mind games to realize they liked each other. For the most part it was two good people dealing with life and when they had some concerns they “nipped it in the bud” by confronting those issues than playing coy... they just had some hating ass friends 🥴
I would've just taken Adina home i already hit so whats the issue or at least called her a cab but that's just me but had she taken the car i would've def reported it stolen and her ass get locked up for grand theft auto I only think like this cuz I had spent a good portion of my life being a fuck boy so I sat around watching these movies with my brothers and friends and thinking of ways out of the situations that would benefit me more than them😩😩😩😩
