Clyde Smith Shelter is a short distance from the Appalachian Trail via a blue blazer. Cherry Gap Shelter is 9.2 miles S and Roan High Knob Shelter is 8.5 miles N.
Supposedly, 10 can sleep here but they may have to double up on the platforms. There are several decent tent sites. Indoor eating negates the need for a picnic table.
Water source is located downhill via a short blue blazer. There is no privy.
