A good tip is that you can use a sharpie or any felt tip marker to mark the selected upper limit notch on the traveling nut. That way there is no confusion when you remove the limit switch plate to set the lower limit side.
Besides the danger of hitting the load onto the hoist by setting the upper limit to high, there is also the possibility of ripping the bag by having the hook gouge the side of chain bag repeatedly. Also hitting the bottom of the hoist with the hook block and cracking the gear housing can happen with an improperly set upper limit.
i habe a lot of problem whit the system , my company buy one and they need only 3 link before touch the hoist, and when they use for a few weeks the limit switch start to fail. i try put more links and left work for a while ant the hoist start to fail again, Im not shure if the problem its a design because dont let change the position of the switch.
Hello Lucas, Thank you for contacting us. It sounds like you are using the limits as a production stop. This is not the intended use of the limits. If you do require a stop for production purposes, it will require a different configuration of the hoist. Can you please confirm if you are indeed using the limits for production stops? Henry
@@columbusmckinnon It is not exactly a production stop, I cannot translate that term (production stop) well, im sorry, but the hoyst its use very frecuently ; What happens to me is that the Hoyst works with a series of tools that are very long on a crane bridge ... and so that the tool can be raised to the point of insertion I can only leave them to 3 links of the chain before the hook finishes raise all. And if the instensive use its the responsible for the fails can you guide me to know how to prevent the troubles of make the configuration again and again....? thanks for answer!
