The attention to detail. Punk is not just recreating his iconic ROH entrance. His gear and entrance is recreating his entrance from when he fought Raven in a Dog Collar Match. During this entrance what is MJF doing? Sitting in the corner, same as Raven. #lovethis
the underdog that MJF idolized, that was the man MJF was in the ring with. I think MJF realized that when the music hit, what a culmination. What a moment for ROH and for AEW
@@trentshape part of me wishes the crowd was super into it(everyone Singing along, marking out like I was) but also I kinda like how there’s a small circle of us that appreciate it
@@JohnnyWrestlingClips Maybe in Chicago more people would have know what was happening.. Imagine if he used it for his return in 2021... 😱 The lyrics would have match so well with the whole thing..
I've been following punk since he was in TNA in 03, kinda sad to see what has happened since he returned in aew, won the championship got injured then got into a fight and left... Again 😭
We used to use GameShark hacks on our ps2 just so we would make CM Punk on Smackdown. I remember ruining a PlayStation 2 trying to add a second layer on top of Samoa Joes trunks so I could get the two different colors, it spun the disc so fast it burned out the drive.
While I usually wish the commentators talk less during intros, Excalibur's 'Punk lookin' like he has A Fire Inside' line was a great nod to one of the truly seminal bands to bring goth and punk to a wider audience.
It's kinda wild to me that AFI had such a power in the Punk, Goth, Emo scene yet outside of December Underground they seemingly have remained less known.
@@ultimatemagic2125 wtf are you talking. We all see now who's fucking AEW. The fucking EVPs and their friends. Punk left and the problem is still there.
@@Alex86Scorpion Shut the fuck up you clueless, goofy ass bitch! What problems are still there? Nobody is fighting backstage, nobody is acting like a fucking lunatic there. Stick with watching the bullshit on the other channel you fucking idiot!
About a year later. If the few feuds we get are the only ones we will ever see from punk in AEW. It might be one of the most legendary runs of all time.
@@randomcommentator9442 lol not after today. Dude called Jericho a stooge which he is, and burned about every bridge in aew also accusing them of letting him wrestle injured because it was going to be a “squash match”.
Imagine the scene, Seth comes out in gear set to mock Punk, he enters the ring, and all of a sudden, at the entrance way the lights all focus on the main entrance, with none of the titantrons displaying anything, and then, 0:42, that would be my favorite mania entrance of all time!
That would be perfect tbh, as fire as this match was both Seth and CM punk have come from prime ROH and a entrance like that in storyline would get inside Seth's head much easier
@@home1261 I concur. They'll figure out a way to use all this heat to create some fire when he's healthy. He's gotta grow his hair out and go full on heel though, the Buckeroo's camp won't cheer him, might as well run with it.
@@JPX64Channel As a good heel would. "See? Their ratings have done to shit without me on their television!" I'm calling it, when healthy he will be on Dynamite.
This was the pinnacle of punk’s short career ( as of yet) in AEW. Character driven, great matches, amazing presentation and connection with the crowd along with a heel that just brought out the best in both. Disregarding the age difference, Punk-MJF could have been the Hogan-macho-man, or the Austin-Rock rivalry of AEW! If only things had gone differently in that damn press conference, AEW right now would have been so much better with Punk in the middle of it as champion ( although the Mox-MJF - Regal triangle has been great!)
@@knightshousegames The press conference was a major problem. You cant have your top guy publicly run down the company he works for like that in any sport or business. Its bad for morale. The physical altercation made it worse, but the press conference stuff was enough to make him persona no grata
@@nicholasbrown4109 All he really did was just take the sneaky BS the Elite was doing and made it public. The situation was toxic well before the press conference, we just didn't know about it yet. Punk didn't make it toxic, he just showed everybody what was already there. And it's not even the situation has improved, now the company has traded a world class draw for a trio of gossiping spot monkeys.
@@knightshousegames you mean the response of going to speak to him to try and fix the issue, where they were attacked and literally bitten by his lapdog? Stop being a fanboy and look at what objectively happened. He behaved like a child.
All was a great attention to detail not only Punk’s entrance and theme, but the attire. In a Dog Collar Match with Raven and in one with MJF. MJF sitting like Raven did in theirs. Absolutely marked out when we heard the theme started to play and him come out as we watched this love. One of our favorite Punk and MJF matches. Easily one of the best produced matches and feuds from AEW.
This era of punk will always be such a dream come true the moment he went after the title everything went downhill which brought us to all in and ugh punk is my fav wrestler of all time and it makes me so sad that things ended this way and I don’t think we will ever get to see him in the ring ever again
I don't give a damn if the so called "fans" turned on him. I don't give a damn if The Elite ruined any chance of him ever wrestling again. I don't even give a damn about AEW as a company anymore. But nothing, absolutely *NOTHING* can take away how beautiful of a moment this was with CM Punk and I'll never forget it for as long as I live.
Apparently he hates this fire burns. I get it’s Randy’s old theme but it’s still a good song. And it fits Punk better with everything that has happened in his career
This rivalry was beautiful pure storytelling loved every second of it JUST IMAGINE if all that shit didn’t happen with punk and the elite they would have coulda added a whole other layer to that rivalry now that would have been a fucking crowning moment jealous of the people in another universe who got to see that second layer to this story
It's a damn shame that fragile egos and backstage politics got in the way, 'cuz being able to have more moments like this really would've been something special. Love him or hate him, Punk is legitimately one of the best in the world at what he does, and it's a tragedy that things didn't work out better.
Well now he is back at a professional company, who don't have EVP'S leaking bullshit about punk to their biggest mark dave meltzer, I guess we are gonna finish his career in style before heading to work at nxt with Shawn Michaels
@@biggdave6253 Delayed due to contractual issues. I love punk man but he's going to do it again if we're being honest. He's going to take his ball and run home, again.
You will never get this vibe again on CM Punk at any WWE show. Thanks to AEW for showing a few highlights from Prime CM Punk to new generations..... ENJOY PG PUNK
Truth PG Punk is so boring his return at SS and promo at RAW where so dull he even seemed bored being there lol. Despite all the drama and bad blood he had with AEW his fued with Kingston and MJF where gold and had realism to them.
This gave so much chills. When’s the last time you felt something this in aew. The beginning of aew was exciting just because of the pure potential. Cody and Dustin amazing. Sting debut amazing. Mox debut very well done but none of that felt quite like this
I was the episode of collision in august last year where when it went off the air punk cut that promo about hangman not being a draw. Little did I know at the time I was witness the last punk on on aew free tv. If I knew I think I would have appreciated it more.
Absolute total bloody awe. I thought I was the coolest little hipster when I found this years ago, but hearing it on such a huge stage gave me goosebumps
The whole MJF feud, including this awesome entrance, was the best highlight from Punk return to pro wrestling. Such a shame we never got the decider match between MJF and Punk who are 1-1 in their battles, maybe we will get it down the road just in another company...⏳
Here after the release... This should've been it in hindsight. Instead of this special moment we will tend to remember the backstage dramatics in years to come
Not a huge wrestling fan after about 2004 but I had no idea CM Punk used this song as his entrance.. This whole album is amazing but what a way to start it with that intro.. Only knew of the KSE entrance
I was having one of the worst days ever couldn't get off of work. I had my car break down finally got home because I brought this PPV. Then seeing this I got all the chills and throwback it made my night from hell to a great night.
