Small correction Sam but I completely understand why you'd think it 4:00 Cult of personality did not, in fact, debut at MITB 2011, but I think the new white shirt and logo did. Cult of personality was, I think, first used when Punk returned a couple of weeks later and interrupted after Cena won the tournament for a new WWE champion. But yeah, it's crazy to think they were still using This Fire Burns at MITB 2011 when that feels like such a watershed moment. It's probably the Mandela effect.

Hi Sam- CM Punk didn't use Cult of Personality at 2011 Money Bank in Chicago. He used "Fire Burns" theme song during that era as he was the new leader of Nexus. He didn't start using "Cult of Personality" until returning on Monday Night RAW 7/26/11 after John Cena won the newly created WWE Title defeating Rey Mysterio.

I know you will remember this because I believe I watched you interview Seth there, but I was at the WWE 2K23 event at the Royal Rumble in San Antonio and my observation being around Seth for about an hour was that no matter whether he was talking to you or me or in the hall with the New Day, he was ALWAYS on, always in character, and that is the beautiful thing about what happened Saturday night. EVERYONE is talking about this and NO ONE knows what's happening and he helped do that. His reaction was perfection. He's been begging for him to fight him for years now and now they can have an amazing main event at Wrestlemania. It's been two days and everyone is already ready for it. Keep up the great work, loved listening to this.

As far as Rhea's reaction goes, I suppose a lot of people don't know that Punk is extremely close with the entire House of Black stable. Rhea is engaged to Buddy Matthews, so I can pretty much guarantee that she has a positive relationship with Punk. So does Zelina Vega. Rhea was absolutely in character in that moment.

Hi Sam- You're blacklist is correct consisting of Macho Man Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, Bret Hart and CM Punk. They all eventually returned in some form of fashion but CM Punk is the only one that could have a sustained wrestling run at 45 years old. There are a few others that were on a blacklist for suing the WWF over various reasons and eventually returned back to the WWF Bruno Sammartino, Superstar Billy Graham, Jesse Ventura, Sable and Jeff Jarrett. I'd say the only two personalities that the WWE would never welcome back is Dr. David Schultz and Kevin Kelly aka Nailz.

21:00!!!! this is literally why I’ve been saying he’s my favorite of all time. The reason why he’s my GOAT is simply because to me, he has my favorite wrestling career out of everybody. His story is just the greatest to me….even his upbringing. All of it. He’s gotta be the most polarizing wrestler at least for this generation.

Randy is back, Punk is back, apparently AJ Styles's return is imminent and it seems like quite a lot will happen in the next 8-9 weeks with Judgement Day and Damage Ctrl... and then we'll have the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania season with Roman Reigns coming back, probably John Cena, Logan Paul, Brock Lesnar, maybe Trish Stratus...dare I say The Rock? The road to WrestleMania is gonna be a lot of fun and after that there's Backlash in Lyon, Money in the Bank, another mega show in Saudi Arabia, SummerSlam, Bash in Berlin... it's gonna be fun.

Was there for when CM Punk defeated Austin Aries for the ROH Title. that summer was the best of my life, CM Punk was a large part of that . Was a phenomenal year to be 13 and in the front row banging the ROH ring barrier to the beat of Misera Cantera by AFI the last time Punk came out to the song. Greatest heel turn of all time bar none. Saw him along with KENTA, Kenta Kobashi, Samoa Joe, Bryan danielson, Austin Aries, Roderick strong, and many more legends that summer following ROH around the northeast. Thank you for the memories.

The only thing that was lifted out is that during his torn tricep and suspension was the fact fact that he showed up to raw and had the 1st discussion with trips and cleared the Air with Miz and asked if he could stay backstage to which Vince said No and had him kicked out the arena. So we could say then their he was already planting the seeds for his inevitable comeback

Noticed a lot of cryptic talk coming from HHH and CM Punk leading up to the event. Then during one point in War Games the crowd chanted very briefly “CM Punk” for a few seconds. I think he might’ve been spotted. That’s when I expected him to come out later but didn’t know if he would be replacing Randy Orton or not.

Don’t think there’s going to be too many matches with Punk vs any of the Indy Flippers. The closest thing to that will be KO or Sammy. The rest of the Indy flippers will be relegated to the bottom of the card.

all of sudden the WWE roster looks soooo stacked. It's been pretty great for a while now, but this is seriously one of the strongest since ruthless aggression. I used to be a huge fan of punk, not so much these days but still pumped to see him back. it's reminds you that anything can happen, it's why so many of us love the attitude era. Nothing but high spot after high spot from a bunch of millennials that think they know everything about everything where wrestling is concerned. WWE cares about making $$$, and CM Punk = more $$$ than anyone else in the business today. If good wrestling is what mattered most, Sam would be talking about the precious Indy’s all the time, so would TJR, cageside, etc. I love that the marks have the knife at their wrist over Punks return.

In all likelihood Max resigning with AEW and them getting Osprey and Punk returning to WWE all eyes have turned to Mercedes now and tho she has teased possibly signing with them I’ve have always believed that she would end back up in WWE. If Jade was still with AEW I would say yeah she’s signing but with her now with the opps what matches are there for her tbh. Yeah she could have a feud with Brit , Julia Hart or Statlander but after that who else is left. With WWE she can have her rematch with Bianca , face off with Jade , Build some with a Stratton or Cora Jade once they get called up or Roxann Prez. And most importantly Trips is in control of creative so right then and there u know he’ll make sure to she is booked well and strong.

I do not want to talk like I know CM Punk personally, but that guy is a magnet for attention. The WWE is a big metal sheet that attracts attention. It's a win, but his return is not that epic this time around. The one victory that AEW will have over WWE is Punk's return to wrestling. WWE does not have the footage of middle-aged white men crying over Punk.
