I think with wwe they do it every blue moon that it's not hindering the product but with aew they do it every day and it's like you have bigger problems than worrying about wwe

Two points on this: 1.) At one point, AEW talent referencing or taking shots at WWE was almost a weekly occurrence. On screen or off. 2.) WWE will make a reference or give subtle jab to AEW here and there but their business is astronomical right now. Taking jabs at another company when you have alot of things to sure up in your own company is not wise imo

But aew didn't grow into the company it could have, it has stayed somebody's fantasy project. Which is fine, but this Tony Kahn guy is the epitome of IWC nerd-dom. It's pretty cool to see a representative of the sarcastic obnoxious parts of the IWC in their element, thinking they know how things should work and just stumbling. It's just a circle of repetitive ideas. If in doubt, form a new super heel faction and revolve the show around it. That's the aew/IWC way. They're short sighted. They look at the impact the NWO had and go "THAT'S THE ANSWER!", as if having a group "run this place" is the thing that creates boom periods in wrestling. The NWO didn't change the wrestling biz, Hulk Hogan turning to the dark side did. The NWO just capitalised on that momentum. If aew and the IWC legion they're borne from gave Hulk Hogan the credit for the boom it might be in a different spot, but people don't like to give him credit, so they give credit to the NWO instead. So instead of looking to create superstars in the industry like Hulk Hogan who can initiate TWO boom periods just by what he's doing, we have this abundance of "a super heel faction is the answer" solutions.
