The hostile reaction Cena got at One Night Stand and the way he handled it made me respect the man, like this night he played his usual character for HIS fans, which made the crowd mad as hell. He knows what he's doing, this period vs Punk was awesome because the crowds were split and red hot, this story line got me back into WWE
All the cards fell perfectly and us in Chicago need a suspension of believe and take it when we get it. That was an emotional roller coaster that let the endorphins run wild. I think everyone in that area was CM punk that night and I cant stand the guy in person... but his character was part of us for a long time. The respect for his service will never dwindle.
@@DTB1995 To be honest in ring wise his matches against AJ Styles are better there were some botches in this match the match receive 5* only because of fan's investment in CM Punk's character if it wasn't for fan support this match would have got 4.25 or 4.5*

There's just something about Cena's somber walk to the ring, with all the boos in the arena, that just shows he had just as much of a part in making punk as big as he was.
I think the boos are better than those chants. The Cena sucks chants sounds like people having fun, the boos sound like people filled with anger and hate for Cena

this was nothing compared to One Night Stand 06 with Cena swallows, Fuck You Cena, and other chants. also they threw toilet paper at him. that was such a great crowd.

You know it's a serious fight when John Cena doesn't do anything when walking down the ramp, he doesn't run to the ring, he doesn't do his hand gestures, he simply just walks to the ring taking in the hate. And man CM Punk was such a god here man......makes me miss Punk way more
He did the same at One Night Stand. Cena knew for a fact that his usual antics would get him boo'd, so he played himself as straight as an arrow since he'd be boo'd no matter what he did.

Best match of 2010's hands down and top 10 of all time...the build up to the match, the promos, the match itself the aftermath everything was pure perfection... 10 years later and 7+ years after Punk left Wwe and i still miss this

Cena deserves a lot of props for this. Was in no way fazed by this crowd. I bet many Chicago fans were surprised he didn't buckle under their abuse of him.
Thanks for this video. It's interesting to get a fan's eye view of what it was like in the arena. I was watching at home and I was really moved by Punk's hometown reception. Reminded me of how Edge was moved to tears at Unforgiven in Toronto a few years back.

What I appreciate is Cena knowingly coming out as the Heel and CM Punk clapping for Cena as a Face as a sign of Respect because the whole crowd booed him.
