Recorded 8/25/22 Railfanning the iconic railroad diamond in West Chicago, IL where the Union Pacific Geneva subdivision crosses the Canadian National Leithton subdivision.
Me and my 1 year old brother was watching this since we both love trains, & funny to say my baby brother fell asleep to the clanking from the tracks interlocking. Now to think of this, I really want to record a train over there since I only live up a state from Illinois, It would be a good experience recording over here.
I used to live in Elmhurst Illinois when I was in my teenage years and I lived about old say six blocks away from the train station and you would have on average $200 freight trains go through their money for Friday and Metro trains about I would say 60 trains a day Saturday and Sunday $150 freights and a 30 or 40 Metro trains what I loved about that city is that you had police departments being paid by the taxpayer as security guards for the railroad but the railroad I believe didn't have to pay taxes because they were multiple corporation that one Donald Trump gave him all these tax breaks one of the things they he they did with the money they didn't give it to Elmhurst Illinois no they got that money from themselves and paid off their stock debt so that's a CEO can prove that their company's beans when the company issues stocks they're trying to keep their company and float so I can like a cheap loan well when they had all this extra cash they didn't know what to do with it so they took the money and paid off all their stock debt no understand a passenger train goes a half a mile and that takes up one gallon of diesel but a free train cuz my uncle used to work for the railroad he told me that 2 miles out of free is a gallon of diesel no if they were going to spend the money the way I wanted to do it let's make it all the train tracks electric fight have electric lines above they will save so much money in fuel it paid for itself but they didn't do that what they did is they paid up all their stock now I'm not going to say is this railroad did it or not but most railroads did in that nice to know there's your corporate dollars we'll just waste it on paying the actor stock they didn't give their employees a pay raise I don't believe if they did it would be a miracle but the my uncle when he got killed on the railroad they said it was not his fault but they didn't want to pay him his benefits and that nice to know
