CNBC's Andrew Ross Sorkin sits down with French President Emmanuel Macron for an exclusive interview on how to balance advances in AI with the workforce, rising geopolitical tensions and the economy.
I'm always impressed when leaders outside of the anglophone world can speak English with poise and formality on camera - sure there's an accent, but basically none of our anglophone leaders can do that in reverse.
That’s what happens when you’re in charge unfortunately. I think AI has solved this problem though, easily I might add. Even Macron admitted to using it for his speeches to reach beyond francophone countries. US solve their problems with muscles and EU by diplomacy (at least as of late lol)

I'm impressed that the French president had a working understanding about Ai. It won't replace the workforce, but augment it, make it stronger, workers and artists alike. 🎉🎉🎉
Nope, that's not going to happen. It is definitely going to replace people. Macron, who has a boomer mindset of endless growth and linear change, is a complete moron as are a lot of other world leaders of course. We urgently need to have younger and more intelligent leaders. Those that are able to grab corporations and rich people by the balls
He said the two magic words, we have to train and re-skill people, and that's one of the core points in order to understand any new technology, you have to adopt, you have to train and you have to rethink about your work and your job. And the big difference between the US and Europe is who is responsible to learn something new, and there is a big responsibility in ourselves to actually adopt and see how we can use a new technology. We cannot just leave it to everyone else to do that, or just take what we get from the tech giants. We have to find new ways to leverage on that new technology. But he's absolutely right in the responsibility when it comes to that, and we can enforce certain environment that helps people, especially young people, to thrive on that. I clearly did not expect this interview setup, quite interesting to see that perspective and how far AI or this AI summer compared to the longer AI winter has come so far.

Those who can’t debate policy choose to instead debate semantics. You’re one of those “let’s not fix the homeless crisis in America, instead let’s cry about the use of the term homeless” aren’t ya?
@@hihihi5367 he didn't debate semantics, he just clarified what Macron is trying to hide. I find it irresponsible for Macron to sugarcoat some stuff. He meant unskilled. But could be that English is his second language so he used the word he's more familiar with the meaning with. Idk
I like when Macron said technology and AI will assist "unskilled" jobs. Meaning you don't have to be a techy to benefit. BTW: I think all jobs are skilled.
if it can be proven the original voice wasn’t that of scarlet johanson, then she has absolutely *zero* case. she was in the wrong , and there is absolutely no case here. macron nailed it when he said major big players like china, big tech and US should get to the table and start regulating AI. unfortunately, both are distracted by other things and honestly, it’s 2024, and it’s already too late. all governments around the world did absolutely nothing when the internet came about , introduced mp3s and completely burned the music industry to the ground , why would they do anything now? they did nothing to protect artistes and musicians and will continue to do nothing now as well
we should have had this conversation circa 25 years ago , discussing what the implications of the *internet* is, the consequences of using collected user DATA to train AI.. this is a conversation for the mid 90s, not 2024
@@joy1ess Cut the crap and go touch grass if you cant' handle the internet. Nobody wants your regulation, you're not my mommy. Why does every woman wants to ruin everything by acting like mommies. Get a job
My plan for the world is to evolve beyond physical society, for us to exist in virtual society, the main thing this will need to succeed is security. Europe announcing drone defenses is a good step. The future of technology will be safe if we keep defensive technology stronger than offensive technology.
I remember when I just got into crypto back in 2019 but later in 2020 I ended up selling it because I was dumb and I didn't understand it. I studied and learned and now I know how it works. Got back into crypto early in 2023 with 10k and I'm up with 244k in a short period of time .This comment serves as motivation for all those who have invested and continue to invest in cryptocurrencies with so many losses, do not give up, cryptocurrencies can change your life. Do your best to connect with the right people and you will surely see changes.
yeah investment is the key to sustaining your financial longevity but venturing into any legitimate Investment without a proper guidance of an expert can lead to a great loss too
YuhGottaBelieve! NotB'uhPussy! Then, you find yourself in The Scene. As for Macron, for France, he is planting The Seed ... and He ... will continue to Lead.

media published Rishi Sunak regarding trend AI issue was last year, some previous years in UK work world big giants come to US and China ? seem latest news and situation, Some corporation in certain Europe countries take over most of asset China in Tiongkok. True ?
Our economy struggling with uncertainties, housing issues, foreclosures, global fluctuations, and pandemic aftermath, causing instability. Rising inflation, sluggish growth, and trade disruptions need urgent attention from all sectors to restore stability and stimulate growth.
With the US dollar losing value to inflation and other currencies gaining traction, uncertainty looms. Yet, many still trust in the Dollar's perceived safety. Worried about my $420,000 retirement savings losing value, I seek alternative security for my money.
With my demanding job, I lack time for investment analysis. For seven years, a fiduciary has managed my portfolio, adapting to market conditions, enabling successful navigation and informed decisions. Consider a similar approach.
this is definitely considerable! think you could suggest any professional/advisors i can get on the phone with? i'm in dire need of proper portfolio allocation
ANGELA LYNN SCHILLING' is her name. She is regarded as a genius in her area and works for Empower Financial Services. She’s quite known in her field, look-her up.
I appreciate it. After searching her name online and reviewing her credentials, I'm quite impressed. I've contacted her as I could use all the help I can get. A call has been scheduled.
Europe needs a strong common investment market for innovation and technology like the U.S and China has. Emmanuel Macron understands exactly what is going on. He knows that A.I itself will be the perfect teacher to re qualify people and all that comes with it. He would be a great guy to push such a common investment market for the E.U.
Im not sure why he's saying social media didnt increase productivity. It absolutely has, especially for marketing. You could never reach millions of people with a few clicks before social media. AI will increase that productivity even more, in manyore sectors
Macron , better use AI for service i think more better for France. But you should trial first in 5 years , than if something not matching, you fix the part which not suitable .
European leaderships are far more sorted out in making their public distressed giving them enhanced decent life to live with support systems without strangulation called taxes regulations , France is so sweet it made provision for those who want to work less hours😊 and they support female freedom of choices.
100%, it was a very good and needed conversation. Very impressed at how reasonable and pragmatic Macron’s viewpoints are. Hard to imagine most US leaders being this articulate and open.
the idea that the US will just give up tax money to the world is laughable. I say that as a German. Nor Europe or China have any weight in this game, why would the US just agree to giving money
Jobs will be less important in the near future. Trying to maintain a minimal number of jobs is a lost cause. Politicians should start to think about UBI and creating new life purposes. UBI will have to come in cheap products (made at marginal costs) and in the beginning also in monetary form. The money for UBI will finally come from upbringings made in the automation sector.
Sir Macron We acknowledge the receipt of your interview and insights provision of you on discussion with technology Era but somehow this is tool for production and productivity as far human capital is concerned we found out absolute risky affair to all across the globe. Sir can we schedule your meeting on climate change with professors and researchers across the globe and understand the current status and scenario of the same as on the heat wave, sudden unforeseen snowhail we experienced in Mexico etc wild fire stroke, floods etc findings are more then eyes meet as experience of learning and viewing outside windows conveys more on side effects of war zone and weapon used during war has left lasting impact on climate change. Progressive meeting with professors and researchers on climate change willingly shall provide you and us on interview dice to understand the current status of the same. Regards Royalty
I speak French as a second language and follow French politics. Dear Americans! Have you ever watched a presidential candidate's interview in France during an election? Certainly not. It is remarkable how much knowledge a presidential candidate needs to possess and, more critically, how much detail he/she must grasp. The degree of intelligence is astonishing. Even the smallest grammatical error during an interview almost automatically disqualifies a candidate from the position. Needless to say, a moronic candidate such as Donald Trump would have zero chance of winning after uttering his indigestible word salad.
But Trump didn't make grammatical errors as far as I know. He didn't use word salad, he's a businessman, he speaks straight to the point and makes concluding decisions earlier than you can process the problem. He's far from moronic. This "moron" you gossip about is a billionaire businessman, he isn't some idiot who has things happen to him, he knows the nook and cranny of logistics for business, law and politics. I repeat, he did not need to explain everything like Macron because he has usually made the most logical conclusion in every question he was interviewed in because it's just how fast his brain works. He didn't use the word filler like Macron and most of us.
As it is implemented via LLMs and a firehose of a supply of data from the echo chamber of the public, and the potential for an expansion into a larger public of Africa, AI holds no more promise, than the Kingdom of Wakanda :-)
His thoughts on taxing tech firms and AI would stifle innovation and advancement. These government people talk about taxing the rich when they live and work in the nicest most expensive places and have some of the best lives with their families. They have these great lives from other peoples money. I call this legal corruption.

You can theoretically win the presidency in France even though only 26% of the voters voted for you in the first round, Macron being particularly unpopular, even though most French presidents would struggle to get above 50% approval.
😅 French are boring of him.because he speak he speak he speak . French President have more power than.american president. He can choose and impose laws in the assembly then 90 %the folk doesnt want.
@@oloplyflapdar7384 It is in fact how he won the election. But French had more choice, 10 or so candidates. Americans have only 2 options: Trump or Biden. So much for the greatest democracy in the world :)

Only a leader with zero self respect speaks in the language of another's country. Mandarin happens to be the #1 spoken language in the world. Macron looks like a simp to the Americans while simultaneously mocking them to the French who despise them. America is 4% of global population, only simps bow to clowns.
It’s impossible to invest or make money in France until several laws (believe it or not, laws impulses by Thomas Jefferson), regarding wealth and economic success. Because right now you have the CGT punishing everyone making money. Strikes, violent strikes, riots and several harmful things. I work in Hollywood and we sell a lot of content to several networks in France, but we have to translate to French language and dub our films in Barcelona due to the stupid and super strict laws regarding dubbing actors, which is similar to the Californian laws protecting musicians recording for films, leading up to record soundtracks in London because is 1000 times cheaper and you pay only once, no residuals. And with France is even worst. Regrettably, Macron doesn’t have the support of the people and AI will only thrive through the government help, but nor from the private sector……funny thing though, our min client is Sy Fy channel France, who is own by the same company who owns CNBC, and you send us to translate and dub to Barcelona. To save money…..very interesting….
Meanwhile France is still the first european country in terms of foreign investment... And foreign companies make a lot of money here. If they didn'it, they would leave. You should not generalize the problems you run into when doing business in France.
