It is recommended to add a particle filter in the air path before reaching the pump - milled-off chips might otherwise ruin it.

Awesome. The solution I have been looking for as I decide how to setup my spoil board...movable vacuum love it! Around 10:55 , what are the black puck looking devices? They appear to give some kind of lateral support and height support to match the vacuum pad. 3d printed also? Thank you very much for sharing your design and expertise!

Hi Hilmar, great project - printed 4 of the pads but have still to connect them to the vacuum pump. What kind of remote control is the one you show in the video to switch on/off the pump? Can you tell where I can get one of them or how you made them? Want to have one of them as well for my CNC machine. Keep up the good work! Thanks

Hi I have a vacuum pump like the one you show and I see the inlet blue hose but how come there are two outlets on this vacuum pump. It looks like a pressure relief value on the right side but what is the left brass fitting for. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated or is it a outlet hole the get rid of the air that it is sucking in from the blue hose.

What happens if you need to cut where the vacuum pads are? Wouldn’t it loose suction then? I guess you could just be careful to place them not in the way but that could get dicey on some parts and you might accidentally cut your vacuum pads but now that I think about it would probably only cut the rubber seal around the edge which is cheap to replace if damaged. I wonder what the clearance is when that is holding a piece of wood down at full vacuum.

To add a Laser to your CNC you need deep knowledge in the CNC electronic, support from the CNC software for a laser and it is a high risk to damage your Eye's. I recommend to by a separate Laser engraver/cutter.

@08:55 I guess it is working for you, but I'd probably had those arranged in a staggered arrangement for an easier access to the valves without the neighbouring ones blocking my fingers. That being said though... I believe those FESTO ( or Festo like ) connectors are meant to be used for positive pressure only like an air blast system, not a negative one found in a vacuum system. Also... Any particular reason why you choose 3D Printing the pards instead of like using a material like Delrin? I mean... It's not like you don't have a CNC to make the parts using it 🤔
@kitecattestecke2303
@kitecattestecke2303 3 года назад
The connector can be used for vacuum/suction too because you can buy vacuum generators, venturi based and vacuum capable valves from festo with same coupling!

Best to turn your blade the opposite way to keep from forming burrs
@14768
@14768 4 года назад
@@blake102989 This is 100% wrong please nobody do this. That technique works on plastic, not Aluminum. There is nothing wrong with using a carbide circular saw blade to cut aluminum. The tooling in an industrial metal milling machine is carbide, it's the same stuff. Technically you could cut thin Steel in a table saw if you want. If you turn the blade around you WILL chip the carbide and throw carbide shrapnel all over the place. Carbide is exceedingly strong only in the direction it was meant to be used, not in the opposite direction.
@stephanbrunker
@stephanbrunker 4 года назад
It is safe, but you have to use a special type of blade for this, the same kind usually available for miter saws. These have a negative cutting angle (the teeth angling backwards) that they don't have the tendency to pull themselves into the work piece. As a youth, I nearly had an accident because of course nobody knew that and fitted a normal table saw blade on the miter saw, and yes, it pulled the piece into the saw and nearly my fingers too. And these work perfectly for aluminium.
