Vloggers are the new "journalists"... albeit w/out the accountability... Sad that "reporting" is now a dying art! being replaced w/ influencers and "opinioners" often not backed by hard facts... School Press Conferences from Elem to H/S are now moot... depEd Budget for such competitions can now be re-aligned for 'projects for corruption'... hard number is 40%... 😮
However, vloggers are not invited or allowed in official press briefings. For example, vloggers are not allowed in Malacanang to cover the press conference of the president, and other similar activities.
The only way for any business, organizations, institutions, etc to last would be with people's support..kasalanan ba ng nakararami kung ayaw panoorin ung CNN Philippines??
In my opinion, Journalists in the modern age need to evolve and explore their career paths. Other than of course joining a major news channel. There is a British quasi news channel (not sure what exactly it is called) on RU-vid. Their channel name is TLDR news. Basically, I started watching them because I wanted to get more information about Brexit and how British House of Parliament operates. They started during the pandemic and at least I'd want to believe that they had less than 10 staffs. That is including the host which I believe is also the President and CEO of their little group. Their platform was RU-vid. And they slowly grew their channel. Now they have "subsidiary" channels. TLDR EU, TLDR ASIA, TLDR WORLD, ETC. Given that model, it appears that in modern times, ANYONE can put up their own channel as anyone can open up a Gmail account. Journalists from defunct CNN Philippines might want to look into this possibility. They get to live their career and dictate their progression at their own terms. The only roadblock I see here is the censorship and rules of our different media regulating bodies like KBP. But there ARE various RU-vid Channels nowadays that do not seem to encounter these "censorships". The vlogs of Toni Gonzaga, Luis Manzano, Boy Abunda, etc. If these anchors were respected during their time with CNN Philippines, I do not see much of a challenge if they transition to "self broadcasting" like they did with TLDR. FYI. TLDR now gets to interview government officials like they do in BBC. And TLDR is not a major news channel. They bridged that gap. They have established their reputation so successfully that influential politicians agree to be interviewed by them. Not bad for a once "backyard" British RU-vid channel that started during the pandemic.
Wag na kasi maglicense ng CNN anlaki ng bayad para lang sa brand. Make a unique and good branding na lang. Its going to be hard, pero kung icacarry nila yung quality ng CNN PH, they will probably thrive.
Journalism is losing its spark ☹️☹️ people are losing jobs, its being replaced by either robots or influencers with no actual hard facts. The world is improving, but sometimes its not improving in a good way.
So what do you suggests?? Stopping the people to vlog or prohibit their contents??? CNN Philippines didn't get the support they need...eehh di sila gusto ng mga tao, will you force people to like them??
Mas gumanda nga ngayon kaysa panahon ni duterte. Now mas kunti na mga smuggled na gulay from China kaya nakabawi kahit paano ang mga farmer namin dito sa Cordillera.
