It has been several months since I've put up any videos and I noticed there were one or two videos in my file that I have never uploaded.
I shot this one in January or February of 2015 after a decent snow fall.
We start at Andy Cooper Road north of Lancing, TN. with a northbound movement hustling north.
At Sunbright the hot Northbound NS Roadrailer 264 rushes north under some EMD power. It's sad that this would be some the last roadrailers I would see on the CNO&TP before they were abolished.
A southbound unit grain train stops short with NS 1030 leading, the NS painted SD70ACe that was featured at North Carolina Transportation Museum during the heritage unit showcase several years ago.
A northbound DPU coal train blows by before letting the grain train continue south. Track 2 from Sunbright to Lancing was out of service due to Maintenance of Way occupying it. Therefore, the grain train was crossed over to Track 1.
A quick glimpse at Huffman, TN. shows a northbound about to drop down to Glenmary with a K-5H horn equipped Dash 9 in the lead. The SD70 trailing second reminds me that those units don't have long for this world.
The last quick clip is at the south portal of Tunnel 24 at Nemo, TN. A special road local ran south down the CNO&TP that day with a nice lashup of EMD power reminiscent of the 1990's. There was an SD40-2 up front with a GP60 and GP38-2 in there behind it. I was disappointing not to catch that train in daylight working a grade, but it had got held up at Oneida making a pickup. Still, it was excellent to witness howling in dynamic braking down the mountain.
I realize it's only been 4 years since I shot this, but the amount things have changed is staggering with motive power.
