Dooney and Bourke all weather leather are indeed built to last. I do have the same Essex bag bone in large and black in medium. Both were 1993 one in a excellent condition until now.

I love the Coach mini field bag and I also like the Dooney and Bourke bags as well. It’s nice to get well made classic bag at affordable prices than pay thousands for new designer name bags now whose quality of construction is going down hill.

Hi Caleb, new subscriber here you found me and drew me in!! popped up on my feed, i watch Autumn Beckman, yotastyle and styled by Gwenny etc, I heard you say about a bag (the cambridge??)that it smelt bad, (cigarettes or other smell?) you get a tightly closing plastic box and stuff the bag with charcoal packs and put them round, under and on top of the bag and leave it a few weeks, couple of months and the smell should dissapear. you get the charcoal packs from Amazon. I have a small collection of d&b AWL and its nearly a life-hack if you like real leather bags. Even if theyre beat up, they look pretty good after a cleaning (your cleaning video really helped me!!), and the QUALITY. Nothing under $500 is made that nice anymore, and I paid $80 for my best one. Plus, I'm vegetarian (vegan-curious) so I'm not really in the market for new leather, but fake leather is plastic so buying secondhand is the best option. The cows that died in the 90s were put to *good* use if I'm still using their goods 30 years later.

There's a coach weekend bag that I use to have and someone stole from me. it was vintage and similar to the HAC but more of the single top handle style (Kelly) I can't for the life of me find it anywhere online. I had it when I first met my husband. it was very vintage I think at that point.

Haha- terry loop fabric definitely fits. The shearling isn't the best, it's kind of disappointing considering just the winter before they had that awesome shearling signature line.
Looking forward to your Dooney care video. I’ve had good luck with mine with just a little Leather CPR and very light Blackrock. I’ve dunked a vintage Coach, which worked great, but fortunately the Dooney rehab thread on Purse Blog Forum set me on the right path before I did anything that might injure my babies. So hard to pick a favorite. My Y2K-ish Dooney Zip-Zip satchel gets the most love from me. On the other hand, every time I pick up my late 80’s zip-top satchel, I start thinking that if I could only carry one bag for the rest of my life, I could do a lot worse. I have a a vintage Coach and a contemporary one and I love them both, but maybe it’s that Midwest upbringing, those old Dooneys hit different.

I am always up for the drama of a Bag Collection Video! Loving them all, but Dooney and Bourke is amazing, especially the last one from the auction. Joshie Michael used to collect them and before he showed them on his channel I had never heard of them. I don't know if they have a retail seller here. I feel more inspired than ever to have one myself, from eBay because I am saving for a holiday and renovations, so bag acquisitions have taken a back seat! (Weeping! Wailing! Drama!) The easiest thing is to check the serial number on the creed. If the second set of numbers starts with an F- then it's made for factory. Also- the website has a Reserve section to make shopping easer. Haha, that's too funny, Kara!
