@@hommefataltaemin I never liked Tony. He speaks too fast and he is a mess. Coach had this very mature, wise guy, very experienced face. But when comes out of his mouth is sooo childish. Which is why he is so funny.
Coach has “main character” syndrome. He’s watched wayyyyy too many movies where he walks out the theater and thinks he’s that exact character, goes home, studies how to be said character, and next day becomes that character. Thank god his movie of choice wasn’t Joker.
Good god. It’s sometimes easy not to notice the weight loss watching week to week. But seeing snippets from beginning to end really shows how brutal the show use to be.
Brendan letting Coach bury himself with his Amazon story with follow up questions is such an underrated hilarious moment, Brendan doesn't get enough credit for that.
love him or hate him, after the producers had to convince Jeff probst to come back when Gabon caused him to want to walk away, coach was a big part of reviving his love for this game, and you can tell with how much fun he had roasting him at tribal haha
Indeed! Erinn and Taj were utterly hysterical in their "Coach" observations, as were Sierra's facial expressions. Taj was one of my single all-time favourite players ever.I always hoped to see her come back for another season. I feel J.T.'s win is in very large part thanks to her, yet only J.T. and Fishback get the credit. As for Coach - it must have been insufferable to have to be subjected to him and have to be gracious and polite lest you paint a target on your back. Giant props to all his cast-mates but most credit to poor Sierra who handled her abuse with maturity, grace and poise.
I still think the best is when the assistant coach comes 😂😭 it amazes me how everyone was just not questioning calling him coach as if it’s a common name😂
Coach might have been the most delusional person ever on Survivor. His truth's were unbelievable. I could barely tolerate him; I only had to watch him for 1 hour a week. I'm wondering if that Amazon story was almost a Ransom of Red Chief situation.
Coach is at his best in Tocantins because no one takes him seriously whatsoever and everyone sees right through him. He’s the butt of everyone’s joke but he believes his own delusions of grandeur
Coach is what happens when Steven Seagal, instead of being a martial artist, became way into Dungeons & Dragons, community theater and the Adventurer’s Club from 90s Downtown Disney.
I need to rewatch this season so I can laugh myself to death over Coach, roast Coach, listen to everyone roast Coach (again), swoon over JT, and cry happy tears when Taj gets to see her husband. This season is all around amazing.
Basically everyone said they were going to vote for Coach if he owned his game. All he had to do was say he didn't play with honor and lied his way to the end. Unfortunately he didn't understand that. Sophie blew him and Albert out of the water by just answering jury questions and taking credit for moves lol
My wife and I recently discovered survivor and watched Tocantins as the 4th season we ever watched. Were absolutely crying laughing due to Coach at various points. Truly a legendary casting decision. I felt mildly bad for him at points, but I also don't think he loves to be hated.
I love Taj so much and I always wished she would've played again.. but I definitely don't blame her for not wanting to. For one thing, she doesn't need the money lol but more importantly.. its always kinda a shame when a player who did soooooo well and you really really liked comes back and ends up just not nearly living up to their presence the first time around, be it game-wise or entertainment-wise lmao I mean I really don't see Taj being a casting flop, but still I wouldn't want to take the risk if I was her and really didn't need to.
No second player survivor is a cast flop they just get voted out early because it’s an all star season so someone has to leave. And they can’t go through the same ark as the first time.
@@extremelyfordham4811 Parvati, Sandra, Cirie, Rob, Sophie, Michelle, Cochran, Andrea, Amber, Culpepper, Sarah, Wentworth, and Jeremy all majorly improved the second time that they played and several of them won entire seasons. It's about if they're capable of adapting to the game and showing that they have more to give. Most of the time they do. Second Chances is considered one of the better to best seasons of the show by people and it's an entire cast of contestants who are giving it a second try.
I think Erin is also underrated. Voting Tyson our was kind of her move , she convinced JT adn Stephen about Taj as well, also her vs Coach was really interesting.
I promise you. You don’t want to know ANYONE like that. It makes for good TV, but dealing with a narcissistic psychopath like that on a daily basis is a personal hell
how tf can you not love coach… HE RECITED A FUCKIN POEM AT TRIBAL COUNCIL😭 and THE AMAZON STORY bro he’s the greatest character in the history of the show
I hated Coach in as a player but him not being able to read a room is so stupidly hilarious 😂😂 like I love everyones reaction to the Amazon campfire story hahaha
got paramount and have binged about 15 seasons as a brand new viewer. coming across this settles it for me that i have to go back and rewatch tocantins after finishing second chance. i thought savage was a character to laugh at but he doesn't compare to coach. coach is more about confidence, savage cockiness. people laugh because of coach, they laugh at savage. edit: and i like savage.
I always just dismissed Coach's Amazon story as obvious buIIshit.. but idk lol the older I get the more and more I think "well MAYBE there is at least some truth to it". He must have at the very least went on that trip, otherwise family and friends could easily just be like "umm no he's never even been there lol".. the kidnapping part is obviously the questionable part, and again I'm sure he exaggerated, like a lot lmao, but it's like.. what grown ass adult would pull a story like that out of their ass and tell it on tv? I feel like if it was made up it would have been less crazy. Like.. I have multiple stories that I don't even tell people (except for people who were also there to witness it) bc they are that unbelievable sounding like I know people will think I'm full of sht 😂 I'm sure we all have stories/experiences like that. Idk I just think that's a LOT to just make up out of nowhere. I'm curious to know what really happened, if anything even really did happen at all lol I could be completely wrong ofc and he could very well have made the entire thing up
8:10 like when he says "I actually tried to tone it down.." we all laughed, but like.. I really do have several stories of things I've experienced/witnessed throughout my life that I really do either not even share at all, or if I do I tone it down bc I really sounds like lies otherwise lmao like.. surely y'all have at least one story that you can't tell people for this reason. Whether you censor certain parts or just plain don't share it. Idk I mean it IS Coach and I know it's probably all made up lol I just can't help but wonder if there really is some truth to his stories.
Same, I think she said in an interview that she was asked for bllod vs water with her husband but the shooting was during their wedding so she couldn't do it.
i still can’t believe Hulk Hogan wrestled 400 days in a year because all of his frequent trips to and from Japan. and how he beat Andre The Giant at Wrestlemania 3 and a few days later, Andre The Giant died. i guess we didn’t catch up until 1993. crazy how they kept it a secret for 6 years!
The way Benjamin and Debbie bullied and gaslit Sierra almost ruined this season for me when it aired. Debbie especially, she's a principal for God's sake.
honestly i disliked him a L O T considering how hypocritical he was and sometimes i thought his whole persona was just one big elaborate joke but i gotta admit he made the show very interesting
Yeah he actually beats a good bit of people, like Erinn, Sierra, Debbie, but that's it. Tyson, J.T., Stephen, and Taj all beat him very easily. And Brendan I've got no clue since that would have never happened.
in South Pacific he hundred percent was gonna win. everyone admitted he played a much stronger game. the problem is he reverted to old Coach during the FTC. lying about: playing with honesty, using religion as manipulation, claims he was loyal to everyone, etc. had he own his game, he would’ve won. it’s like Mike from 42 and Phillip for Redemption Island. if they owned their respective games, they would’ve won against their opponents convincingly.
@@markjackson6431 I still find it funny how Boston Rob is a powerhouse player and even then he would've lost RI if Phillip had literally had a better FTC
@@entertainer_ev2747 it is funny because the newbie didn’t award a 4 time player the win. all Phillip had to do was to own his game. admit that his behavior was done to be seen as a goat and dragged to the end. like Evil Dick or Josh in Big Brother. people don’t want to give him credit for whatever reason (some might be subconscious).
