The score is like that because the number in the middle is the set they're in. The team didn't score 161 points, they scored 16 and they are in the 1st set of the game. You can see that the number 1 is in a different color. Hope this helped :)
What's REALLY cool to see in Haikyuu!! is when the other teams get a little more used to this "super quick" and start putting up blocks and actually trying to defend their court, and Hinata has to figure out new ways to get his spikes to land in. It's really cool to see how he can think fast in the air and control the ball better than just slamming it down wherever he wants. Honestly, his REAL "best spikes" happened later in the show, when they played against better teams with better blockers.
I suggest you check out : -oikawa's serve -nishinoya's receives -tendou's blocks -kyotani's serve and spike -atsumu's serve - date tech's blocks -ushijima's serves and spikes -yamaguchi's jump float -tsukishima's blocks These are basically the best, most awsome, things in haikyuu
The reason Hinata has to run so fast is because he was entirely on the other side of the court. Kageyama and Hinata have this “signature move” where they make it look like Hinata is about to spike from one side of the court, but then he sprints to the other side and spikes there
@Reyniel hipolito Ok... spoiler down here Hinata goes to train to brazil for a few years. He gets really good and as he is japanese and super quick and tricky (he comes out nowhere for recieves and digs) he gets the nickmane "ninja shoyo" over there in brazil, he gets kind of famous with that nickname and it follows him when he goes back to japan to play pro
When Hinata is really deeply leaning into his sprint it's normally because he just faked 1 end of the court and is full sprinting to the opposite side of the net. He's got insane athletic ability and there are few people who can keep up with his speed and stamina but, he doesn't have high levels of skill as an individual so he mostly dodges the blocks by out pacing them on the ground as opposed to beating the blockers in air.
There is another character named "Bokuto" he has a clip where he hits line after seeing his junior(hinata). A beautifully animated approach and penultimate
@@damianc669 that’s true. Although I believe he played some volleyball himself, so he might still be entertained and have some commentary. Personally Kenma’s and Oikawa’s play styles have always seemed the most interesting to me
The author in Haikyuu was a volleyball player back then. Some thought their quick is impossible to do but no, you can definitely do that in real life, it was just a little exaggerated in the anime. All of this are accurate to the real volleyball. You should definitely watch the whole series! Its still ongoing btw but the manga of it has ended.
Im TOTALLY a fan of Haikyuu! I came across your video in my recommendation =) I highly recommend watching the show from the beginning. Its really that good. I play volleyball and when I first saw that there was an anime/show about the sport I was really curious...but then watched and was amazed at how realistic and true to the sport and techniques it was (minus some exaggerated visuals in order to give the audience and understanding of heft, speed, connection, and pacing lol). I HIGHLY recommend you watching. You won't be disappointed. The in game tournaments are amazing!
@@jumpguyty if you were to watch and react to the episodes, I would subscribe as well. It would be great to watch and see with you the athleticism and skill development of the players. The video compilation was so out of context it really takes away from the shows awesomeness! (Ex. Haikyuu's nickname is "Hype-kyu" bc of its excellent writing).
I used to play as a spiker as like a 7 year old (so barely any spikes it was just what position I played you know) and then I quit because I was so short. Hinata got me to start again
Hinata is actually one of the best jumpers in the series. Since he's so short (about 164cm as of season 4) he has to rely a lot on his speed and jumps. His highest jumping point is measured to be 333cm but he's improved on his jumps since then
Before he starts improving his jumping in the series, there is a scence where they measure their vertical. They powder their fingers and jump to touch basketball backboard. Hinata measured 333 cm.
@@araara8875 well his vertical is about 120-130 cm I believe. His height is 164 cm so with his hand raised he probably reaches around 200-210 cm. Subtract that from 333 cm and you'll get the right numbers.
@@araara8875 lol the comment said "powder their fingers and jump to touch the backboard". Based on that comment don't you think they might've used their hands instead of heads to measure? Hinata reaches around 200-210 based on his height so his vertical would be around 120-130. Definitely very high but not close to 169cm.
Its great to see that professional coaches react to my fav anime , Haikyu... This series is a must watch and moreover I really wanted to recommend you to watch the compilation of the super Libero , Nishinoya saving the day for Karasuno High. I can guarantee you that it will be a treat to your eyes. :-)
So basically Hinata's jumping ability, stamina, instinct, concentration and will power are all S+ , tho he is only 20% effective without Kageyama (setter), because all of the initiative is with Kageyama + Hinata's receive, game knowledge (he doesn't yet comprehend all of the factors involved in the game, player positions, strategy, effective blocking) is all D at beast C- , but as the seasons go he gets more and more in tune and eventually doesn't depend on Kageyama anymore to show his full potential. 10/10 anime you should watch it! P.S. that line you said "he's like a ninja" if you decide to read the manga you have no idea how right you are xDDDDD
The number in yellow(or in the middle) means the number of sets for the match. Usually, volleyball goes to a best of three or best of five sometimes. A volleyball set ends when a team reaches 25 points or under a deuce situation at 24, whoever gets two points first wins. :)
1. The glass was a metaphor. "Breaking a barrier" 2. The middle number on their scoreboards is the Set they are currently on 3. Most of the spikes you saw were the opponents' first times seeing Hinata spike as this is his 1st year of highschool and he is an unknown in their volleyball community, despite having natural raw talent Loved your reaction! definitely give this show a watch, it has awesome character development and definitely gets you in love with the characters, and matches are always intense and it has great humor too, you definitely see a team start from the bottom and build upwards. 10/10 show

Lol nice reaction coach!👍🏽 This compilation didn’t have the full approach for some reason, but if you look at clips from season 4 the show is much more focused on hinata’s jump and the mechanics. There’s even a whole chapter dedicated to Hinata improving his block and ‘punching’ the ground.
Just found your video on my recommended! Haikyuu is honestly such a great show: the creator, Haruichi Furudate, grew up playing volleyball and did great research on the mechanics of volleyball (even studied in the men's national team in Brazil, I believe), there is amazing character development, the comedy is great, and the animations are SICK. I hope you get a chance to watch it (maybe do reaction videos to the series? I'd love to watch!) #Subscribed
The match with inarizaki was amazing. There was a lot of cool scenes. The growth in the team from the 1st season to the end of the 4th season (inarizaki match) is crazy!
That freak toss-spike combo gain popularity in that anime because it is done in minus tempo. Meaning the spiker will run and jump before the setter toss the ball.
The charm of the show its that it doesn't seem super over dramatized unlike other shows. To the uninitiated on the sport it seems and sounds legit with some obvious dramatization, but nothing super over the top (the sport aspects of course)
The animation of the broken glasses was a memory from the past where they lost on that team basically it is showing that they are breaking or surpassing their past
for sure you have to check this! it's so enjoyable that in some point you get so immersed in the story you'll find yourself screaming at 3:00am every point in the game!
you should watch the entire series in full. it perfectly reveals the volleyball itself, the audience explains the techniques, serves and everything else. and also in the series there are many amazing characters, not only Hinata, they are all great.
This is a compilation of teams being hit with the monster quick, FOR THE FIRST TIME. That's the major reason for the "freeze" shown every time. Also, his best jumps, the ones when he's not being pulled around by his momentum, come much later. This story is originally a manga\comic, and the anime hasn't gotten to the point where Hinata figures out how to jump properly. This story is one of my favorites, so it would be awesome if those got analyzed, too, at some point! Thanks for the great reactions to Haikyuu!
@@doni8174though I think its definitely higher since I’m 174cm and my standing reach is 224cm and my friend is 186 and his standing reach is higher than mine by 20cm, Thus when hinata reaches 333 at 164 might have a standing reach of 200-210 depending on arm extension making him at vert of around 48 inches and since after timeskip, he jumps a head higher which can be 20cm+, hence he reaches at least 353cm. When deducted by my standing reach, which is higher than hinata’s height of 171.4cm, is already higher than 50inches which is a underestimate.
The context matters a lot actually, the story is that the setter sets too fast for anyone's good except this kid and the setter actually waits for the kid to jump and then throws the ball into his hands in midair. It's a set faster than 1st tempo because of this
@@jumpguyty Yeah serves would be a good one. This is probably the only compilation that would be hard to analyse for you since Hinata's quick is probably the only that isn't realistic in the anime (although not impossible to do). So any other haikyuu video would be so much easier for you to analyse.
I definitely don't think there is anything stupid about Haiykuu and I'm sorry if I gave you that feeling. I'm very excited to do my 3rd reaction this week!
YOU NEED TO WATCH THE WHOLE SHOW, your gonna love it considering its a volleyball anime!! theres so many more teams and characterss, YOU NEED TO WATCH THE WHOLE SHOW!!
The scene where the glass shatters is representing their fears. The spikers were afraid of the blocks shutting them down, but they spike through it and shatter that fear. Finally, able to make it through.
This Anime is definitely not stupid. Not only athletics animations. Different teams, players and their psychology, motivations ,values. Last anime season was just goose bumps for me. Like in previous seasons Kōtarō Bokuto answers Kei Tsukishima question about motivations, how he trained, and then in real game saw the difference, and that was the moment he got hooked on volleyball and training hard. How effort and results disconnected by long spans of time connect for him at that moment. This is one of those amines that has insane depth towards characters, psychology and how it all comes together to form strong teams.
As for Haikyuu, I gotta say one thing Ive learned after watching some real volleyball after is that they really did their research on volleyball before animating it. Every position has a lot of great things. The libero is on point with his slides and his "poses", the ace(wing spiker) has the same beautiful form while jumping and the team got some badass serves(both brute force smashes and jump floats). All in all, superb and so glad it introduced me to the sport! :D All that has to happen now is for the Swedish team to get some golds! ;)
Hinata actually plays the mid-blocker position and acts as a decoy. In his junior high years he was brutally defeated by the setter’s team and now he strives to be a “tiny giant”
The shadowy moments like the one where the glass is breaking is more like a mental break, normally happens when his team is on the losing side and then they have some sort of revelation that pushes his team forward. Happens usually during their big games against some of the top teams.
Hinata's definitely best known for his reflexes and speed, which make his jumps incredibly hard to predict and his spikes even harder to stop. You can't help wishing even the biggest guys in Haikyuu good luck with stopping him, especially if they also have a problem with experience.
I did a bit of research and Haikyuu is a Japanese Manga series..and manga literally refers to all kinds of cartooning, animations and comics. Anime is also referred to as a "Japanese Cartoon", so although I can see it for some reason offends many of you, I won't apologize for using it quite appropriately. That being said, I have been referring to it as an anime since this upload.
The show was written by a ex volleyball player and he learns how to play smarter and even learns how to jump correctly.it uses a lot of really volley ball drills, terms and form
The hit with the glass at about 15:35. This match was in the second season and the first official game they played blue castle Hinata had the last hit and it was blocked. So him shattering the glass in the second season was a redemption for that last point in the first season.
Also, the glass scene is because the previous time they faced each other, the team lost because of the block. But with the new and improved set, it's saying that he's breaking through their past defeat. :)
