I think sometimes judges wait for the contestants to reach a particularly hard part (either a note that needs to be belted or a note that needs to be held for a long while) and see if they can get through it successfully before buzzing. If they buzz early and the note ends being flat or short it can ruin the whole 90 seconds of the audition.

@@chiquicozzarelli16 yeah i'm aware but i've seen SO many buzzes after like one second where the voice hasn't even made its impression yet so??? i know it all comes down to personal preference but i think it's safe to say that his voice is very universally likable so i'm just wondering
