This is hands down my fav show ever...I always said it was the best show that no one was watching...and has two amazing stars who are always work (Connie and Kyle)...they don't get the credit they deserve.

If it wasn't for season 2 being cut short because of the writer's strike, I feel they were setting up for Coach MacGregor to return later on, say playoff time. 0:56 They did something similar with another villain, Voodoo Tatum in season 1.

A coach taking over midseason is really unrealistic. They're already doing it with Eric doing it with both of them would be a little too unrealisitc.

With the way he played he isnt winning anything, you can't be just run or pass the whole game you have to mix in both if you don't the other team is going to know what's coming and then key in on it. They showed that during the 2nd game before he got fired. Every time smash got the ball he was hit in the backfield cause they were bringing 8 or 9 maybe even all 11 because they knew he wouldn't pass

...........and we never saw Coach McGregor again its a shame a lot of story lines were dropped from season 2 - we never heard from McGregor again, Santiago vanished and was never mentioned again, etc As much as i didn't like McGregor , he was right - Buddy would've never fired McGregor if he wasn't sure he could get Coach Taylor back.

@@brandoncarroll9155 woulda been unrealistic considering dillon was the best team in texas and he got dropped by 40 and won 6-0 to a shit team. I also doubt he would be able to find a job with a State contending team after being an awful coach with dillon in 2 games I like the idea though and maybe he woulda got like an O or D coordinator at a powerhouse team to face taylor

I'm sure they would have met in the playoffs if not for the strike. And as that would have basically been a rehash of the Voodoo return I'm ok that it didn't happen.

I mean Mcgregor got payed the years salary and more cause of severance so he could either take the year off and spend it with his family or get another job and make double salary, I get it sucks being fired but don’t act like your family is in danger

@@BrockOcho8 every school in the State, probably the country knew Dillon's reputation for firing coaches who they felt couldn't cut the mustard after a few losses. Besides, it was mentioned that he won state titles in Tennessee. I bet he could go back there, or even anywhere in New England or Midwest and land a job no problem.

They called him the Tennessee Tyrant and all he could do was call run plays. Either Buddy did not check his resume/references or they messed up the nickname.

No I’m from Tennessee first Tennessee high school football pre-2011 only team back then that threw the ball if they where privates, 6a-5a, or a team with a great QB for like one or two seasons

I know the boosters have a lot of clout with Texas HS football teams, but I doubt that they have final say on who gets hired. That’s what Athletic Directors are for.

Honestly McGregor was not in the wrong here. Yes he was an ahole to Riggins, didn't really know how to manage all the players personalities but at the end of the day he was screwed by Garrity and the boosters. Coach Taylor knew this which is why you can see his mouth shivering as McGregor confronts him. Would have been nice to see these two meet up in season 2 for different teams

HS football is Texas is a booming business. A lot of those places, there is NOTHING to do or see, or be excited about except HS football. It's like the cornerstone of their town, a literal economic foundation bc of the amount of money they generate. They make triple digit salaries bc they bring in more if the program is successful.

I know that here in southern Alabama...specifically the Mobile & Baldwin County areas...head football coaches that are in the state playoffs & state championship games...are paid around $130,000-$150,000 a year & some of these high school football stadiums look like a small college stadium. Much love from Mobile Alabama.

100k+ in Copperas Cove (in 2010) (small texas town) where RG3 played HS ball. More money is bet on HS championships in Texas than the super bowl. Texas takes its HS Football very seriously
