She was the 4th head coach in 3 seasons. Sky has a management issue!

What! Sky break ties with Coach Spoon after One Season???? You need a season to grow and gel the team. Especially with new players. New coach and new players need time to grow and work on their game connection. Plus they had too many injuries with players out. Challenging for any coach.

Spoons deserved more than one year. She was not given the opportunity to develop the Chicago Sky. 😢 It saddened me that someone saw it otherwise. I wish the coach a positive future.

Do everyone remember what Gabby said when Angel tried to recruit her back to the sky.. there were reasons why she said never would I play for that organization again. Chicago Sky front office is terrible and don’t see the trees past the forest. Why did you guys hire someone like Spoon and give up on her and your team after one season! All I can say is wow.

This is extremely messed up. Y'all fired her after one season with two rookies and nine other players that have never played together. I won't be shocked if Chen and angel requests a trade and or leave!!! KC should leave as well and MK this entire team deserves better!!! They fired the social media manager because he asked if he could produce videos to further support the players up for awards!!! and they told him no!! This is bullshit!

No coach that is building a team should be expected to be in the top 5. Injuries you can not plan for. Growth comes with experience, players learning to read each other. Many things take time to coalesce. Thank you Coach for your giving so much of yourself to your players and the W.

We love Coach Spoon she fit in Chicago Sky this was her first year basically a new team didn’t even give her a chance.

Come on man, she got her faults but considering what she had to juggle in her first season with all the new unusual attention towards the league,she deserves another season. This is totally f***up. They do this sh** in the NBA as well. They hire you to fire you.👎🏽

Unfortunately, other factors are at play here. Some certain few with too much time on their hands recently, totally manipulating the narrative for personal gain. Get the popcorn ready, people. Truthfully, there were hints and previews of the script set in play. I feel bad for this lady. She really supported her players but unfortunately, will not be rewarded for trying to keep the focus on the court.

I had to read the article 3 times to believe that T Spoon was actually fired after her first season. Chicago was on the cusp of making the playoffs, injuries, illnesses set them back down that last stretch. Chennedy Carter rebuilt her career this year. Angel and Kamila are going to be dynamic. This move doesnt sit well with me.

I don't understand how Coach Spoon lost her job doing her best with what she had to work with. The Indiana fever have a great basketball team and a coach who does not understand her team and do not know how to coach them. Yet, she continues trying to coach the Indiana fever.

I hope coach Spoons find another coaching job soon, and a supportive front office. One year to repair the broken. You should keep your head up coach. 😊

Wade leaving in the middle of the season leads me to believe the management isn't what it should be. They should have kept you another year with this new team to build. I think your future will be brighter at an organization that will be supportive to what you have to offer as a coach. You got this, keep your head high!!!

Maybe she should have said something about the egregious fouls by Carter? Maybe management isn't OK with a dirty reputation? Could be.

This makes me so sick. I need Reese and Cardoso out of Chicago. This is not a good environment for anyone to grow. It takes time to rebuild and add the right players to the roster. They can't attract free agents due to not having an adequate training facililty of their own and now showing they have a toxic environment. The administration is the problem and need an overhaul.

Well… I know we all have our own opinion. I really wanted to like Teresa Weatherspoon. But when she did not check either of her players after Carter knocked Clark to the ground, and Reese jumped up and cheered, I lost all respect for her. I am new to the WNBA this year, and that kind of behavior was appalling to me. And then, the locker room debacle. She had lost control.

What is with this exit interview ? Add insult to injury. We all know Spoon was a good coach and wasn’t given a fair chance. I know it sucks now but there are going to be bigger and better things for her.

Coach Spoon has made it easy for the next coach because a season has been played with knowledge on the team’s weaknesses and strengths.

Just don’t understand why fire Tspoon now?? -:‘I believe deserve a second year. Injuries were a factor , it was out of the coach hand. A learning and development process for team as a whole. I believe it was coming 2025 with Tspoon and Sky. What happened, honestly the truth!!!

Sorry, she was promoting the wrong culture for her team instead of mentoring them into professional basketball players. Marina Mabrey saw the writing on the wall early and got herself out of there and into a better winning environment. I hate to see anyone lose their job but she had an opportunity to shape Angel into a professional basketball player but it was more important to keep her brand and her stat padding.

The GM got to blame someone for missing the playoff. The black person is always going to be first to blame and the first to be fired 😅

Chicago didn’t look bad because of the lack of talent they looked bad because of the inexperience from the coach and not having a playbook! She wasn’t prepared for this season! And the problems the Sky had she doesn’t have the capabilities to fix year 2

Allowing Angel to stat pad , allowing Chennedy Carter to play like a thug. Always hugged up with the players instead of disciplinary actions. You messed up trying to be your players friend instead of coach.

Unpopular opinion. Tspoon was fired due to how she managed Angel. Spoon got caught up in the double double.. roty hype! Hopefully the next coach will teach Angel to kick the ball OUT after a rebound recovery next year, maybe even push her to develop a jumper

Look at the moves Chicago made for the 2024 season: gave up Marina Mabrey after All-Star break, Kahleah Copper wanted out, didn't even give their second round pick Sika Kone a shot. Seriously, ever since Elena Delle Donne left to go to her hometown team (Washington), the Sky organization just can't figure things out. Maybe Teresa can coach the LA Sparks after the Sparks fired Curt Miller.

She really deserves another team and i would love to see her coach again. Hopefully she will come back for Angel. So Gabby was right about Chicago Sky not being a good organization. Its sad and drives home the importance of the other league.

They really let her go through these interviews with hope and speaking well of the organization before they stabbed her in the back. I’m not even a fan of the Sky, but they showed their true colors with how they handled this.

The goofball from LSU just created too much havoc for the Sky. I guess this was done just before she got canned.

I called this after the first 2 weeks the season started. She’s not the right coach for that team. She actually had the “Big 3” and sometimes you need to get that shyt right the FIRST time. I think she will do a lot better with a more seasoned team. The Sky need a different kind of coach. I personally feel the Sky should’ve been a top 3 team this year. I’m looking forward to the change. Good job Chicago Sky for being proactive. We wish TSpoon much success with her future endeavors.

They fired her because Mabry was unhappy not being the star, and talked poorly of Spoon to justify a trade. I predict, Mabry will play as well with the Sun, as she did with the Sky.

She didn't seem to set a very good example for her players and at times was not very professional in media settings. Some people just aren't built for being a head coach.

Sadly, I am not surprised. After Mabrey left, I think it was clear that the team's morale and culture needed attention. The Chicago Sky fans are loyal and will continue to be.

Usually, I would agree to give her at least 3 years to make some noise with two rookies who had the potential to be a damn good duo and Carter who had all the tools to be one of the best guards in the league. But she lacked the ability to project discipline on that team. When Carter bumped CC and Reese applauded. She should have made a statement by benching them both. You play with compassion and control not with anger. Prove your point by balling out. She was never going to control that team in that aspect.
