I know Andrea is hyperactive and ignorant, but the coaching here is also pretty trash. Correcting terminology that was used correctly more than once and antagonizing the student are two major red flags. Frame the video around Andrea if that's easier to you, but maybe Naroditsky and Hammer could coach you on coaching before you try this again.
They're content creator, they're suppose to create drama, and/or find ways to make the content entertaining and engaging, while at the same time making it pg. Andrea in real life is a better student and Dina is a better coach.
They are streaming ! It's for content, having FUN. Maybe you don't know what that is. They are laughing and enjoying themselves. If you want something DULL, BORING 💤 💤 Then hop over to that creep GOTHAM LEVY ROSIE 🌹
@@huntermach7356 Exactly Hunter ! You're more polite than me. Love how it's pinned by Dina. What is with some of these serious comments. No sense of humour or understanding of what is involved in their channels.
@huntermach7356, whether or not content is engaging, depends on the audience. Some people enjoy content like this, while others enjoy content in which productivity and learning are the main points of focus.
Andrea has a lot of sympathy for isolated pawns because she realizes how hard it is when your sister goes off to college and leaves you with _nobody to play with!_ That someone might choose that situation voluntarily is not something she wants to think about.
Well done Dina, this is the kind of content I would love from you. You have so much chess wisdom. Although collab is fun, I would expect you to do this kind of position by yourself or with your chat.
This was the 25th game of the 1927 championship match between Capablanca and Alekhine. The move actually played by Alekhine was Bg4, and Dina gives a nice explanation of the ideas in the position. Capablanca then maneuvered his knight to c5, and an interesting nuance is that Alekhine played the not-so-obvious move Rc7 both to protect the pawn on b7 and also so that after the trade of bishops on g6 Black's queen is not stuck defending both the knight on d7 and the pawn on g6. Dina is an excellent teacher, and this was a great choice of a game to analyze. Alekhine, at the time leading by two games in the match, managed to draw this game en route to winning the world championship.
Today I learned that Alekhine played Kasparov :D But in all honesty...Andrea's whole repertoire of 'content' is basically around chess so I would assume she knew atleast the basics...Meaning who have been world champions and atleast roughly when. It's basic commong knowledge that Steinitz was the first champion who was then followed by Lasker, Capablanca and then Alekhine.
For you coaching her might be a nightmare but for us we’ve got our popcorn 🍿 out having a party and laughing it up knowing she forgot her A.D.D. Meds 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 you’re great friend to her Dina 😂😂😂😂😊😊
I think you got it wrong. According to wikipedia, an isolated pawn is a pawn that has no friendly pawn on an adjacent file. That is all. It doesnt say "isolated pawn is the one that is on the open file and it cannot move forward because there is opponent pawn", whatever that means. 🤔
I think the main difference we should understand from what dina said was that even tho you could technically call both an isolated pawn, one of them is actually easier to attack and to win. And there's where the difference between an isolated pawn and an isolated pawn on an open/semi open file is important.
I think maybe the cognate Russian term has Dina's meaning. In the US, a pawn can be isolated and passed - be two things at the same time, as Dina puts it.
@@arrowofkira5658 Yes, but isolated pawn on an open file is also something that wikipedia disagree with. It says "An open file in chess is a file with NO PAWNS of either color on it." Obviously, there cannot be an isolated pawn on file with no pawns on it. As for semi open-file, that is defined as a file with pawns of only one color. Dina's sentence "isolated pawn is the one that is on the open (or semi-open) file and it cannot move forward because THERE IS OPPONENT´S pawn" doesnt make sense either, because one color literally means there is NO opponent´s pawn on that file.
Very entertaining! Dina the coach and Andrea the student are hilarious with their different personalities. I can tell that both of them are really taking this seriously, too. Keep it going!
You are a pretty good teacher. Very knowledgeable. I have misunderstood the term isolated pawn until today. Or well I was taught wrong by ... whichever person I learned it from. Thank you for clearing that up for me.
When you can see Andrea is wild chaotic and a loud character and those might not be incompatible with you but you cannot stop loving her and want to protect her.
Lol, the moment she said "I know them", I knew she had no clue. It's like a student of politics saying "Oh yes, Obama. I know him. He was a president."
And yes Andrea is correct on naming, as we use the same name for them all, and differ a good one from a bad one with add that exact adjective to it "strong/weak" "good/bad" while Dina's chess-school seem to prefer to differ a good version against a bad one directly in the name. Maybe as just an example she would like a name such as "two bishops" when it closed position or they just not good & "bishop pair" when it a good thing to have them.
Отличный контент, видно что ты стараешься и умеешь это делать. Молодец ) Также совет и пища для размышления: если бы ты позвала в видео ещё одного хоть кого, то контента стало ещё больше на 1/3.
Isn't g6 followed by Bf5 faster? The only problem is Kh4 directly after g6. Thing is that he can do the same with this Bg4, Bh5, Bg6 idea..... if white goes Kh4 in first two moves he threatens to exchange with Kxg6 and wins the f7 pawn in the process. Oh but g5 after Kh4, Kf5, Qe6, Kg3 and still Bg6. You really calculate both options in a matter of seconds? Amazing.
You can see the sympathy between you beautiful girls. In addition, Andrea respects Dina as another older sister! 🥰But instead of playing with pillows with you, he punches you with boxing gloves! It's not fair !💖💛💙 🏵🌹💐
Isolated pawn: In chess, an isolated pawn is a pawn that has no friendly pawn on an adjacent file. How can Dina be so confident, be a GM, and not know chess terms?
this was hilarious but also so helpful. i can't count how many minority attack videos i've seen and still haven't been able to execute one properly. i almost always end up (badly) pushing the centre pawns like andrea wanted to in order to get to the backwards pawn, and then i wonder where it went wrong. not a single book or video mentioned leaving the rest of the pawn structure alone. it's so obvious when you point it out, thank you!
Ummm...Am I wrong?...An isolated pawn is one with no like pawns on either adjacent like file whether it can move forward or not...She was referencing a backward pawn, correct?
Even though Andrea was slow at learning the concepts, she was correct in saying that the b pawn is an isolated pawn. Any pawn that does not have adjacent pawns is technically an isolated pawn. It is also a passed pawn. The terms are not mutually exclusive.
honestly either Dina's english is so bad she doesn't know what these structures are called in English or she has used the same beads as hans to win games. If I was put in Andrea's place I'd get frustrated when someone was correcting me for using the correct terminology.
They actually ARE hanging pawns.. two pawns side by side isolated. But I see the confusion since hanging pawns also means to leave a pawn unprotected and vulnerable to capture.
@@davidcarr9772 Here's a random video by GM Alex Lenderman ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UvqBIkQGYqQ.html That's not where I learned the term. Probably Fred Renfield or an old Alekhine book. A simple google search would have served you better.
