Coal Face Simulator - Bi-direction cut 

This is a mock up of a modern longwall coal face operation.
Based on Joy or CAT Longwall mining equipment.
It is an interactive simulation of a longwall coal face cutting.
The face is realtively short for longwall @ 82m with 55 Shields this is merely to simplify the simulation run. Normally there might be 200+ shields on a 250m face or even longer!
Coal face shearing (cutting) is worked on the Bi-Directional principle.
Short length longwall faces are generally cut in a Uni Directional principle. COMING NEXT !
The Coal Face Simulator lets you operate and cut the coal face.
Bi-directional cutting requires the shearer to cut into each gate twice in order to "SNAKE" the coal face sequentially and keep correct order of the face line.
See how much tonnage you can cut in a given time. Don't forget you have to keep the face line correct !!
