Coal Fired Steam Cycle 2 - FULL VERSION 

Get this magnificent beast to a bike show and it wouldn't surprise me if you win "best in show" or at least a "crowd favourite" award.

If he makes more of these and sells them, he could start a steam cycle gang and call them The Hell's Stokers.

Beautiful job Sandy, It's got the look of 100 year old technology, I've been thinking of building one myself but using the technology of the 1930's Doble Steam Car using a steam generator which creates only the steam needed to power the engine much like an on demand water heater, then condensing the steam back into water and recycling it. also taking it one step further by using a radial steam engine mounted inside the rear wheel. I'm also thinking of using liquid fuel such as waste motor oil. but that project will probably wait until I retire. Like I said beautiful job, keep it up.

A truly magnificent piece of a steam motorcycle, better than this, it is difficult to do by a private person. The engine itself that is on top is a work of art of the very rare kind, you must have great insight to make something like this.

I see one of these in Jay Leno’s future.

Ha ha! Great machine and would be such fun to ride. 👏👏👏👏👏 I used an old Morris heater fan to run my first smithy forge, back in the mid eighties. To control the speed of the fan, I used the element out of one of those old porcelain electric kettles. Worked a treat from my car battery. 😁

Wonderful work. The only point I would offer to builders is to start with a firebox that can easily start and sustain a good fire. b A friend had a miniature stream engine that was beautiful as it pulled around the track, but it was dreadful to get it up to steam. I've built steam engines with separate boilers, less problem.

Knowing how deadly boilers can be, you have to give them credit for taking a mechanical bomb and strapping wheels to it, the straddling said bomb and go riding off at unsafe velocities, don’t worry about helmets cause if you crash that’s the least of your worries! Big balls of brass I say!

When I'm out with the lads on the bikes for a run iv yet to hear any of them say they've left their damper open....

You can't just add up all the many, many long hours it took to build a incredible machine like this, there is also all the hours & hours of plans & ideas that didn't work... Should I use this or should I use that?, Is this how I want it to look?... All the What if's far outweigh the why not's
