Coast Guard Dude Surfs a Narco-Sub Packed With Cocaine

The U.S. Coast Guard raided a submarine speeding through the eastern Pacific Ocean moving more than 17,000 pounds of cocaine - and released a video Thursday to prove it.
On June 18, a Coast Guard surveillance aircraft tracked the drug-filled narco-sub hundreds of miles off the Colombian and Ecuadoran coastline watched by the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Munro.
The video shows a member of the Coast Guard riding on top of the speeding sub, pounding on the hatch and demanded it come to a stop. Then, three other guardsmen jumped ship and boarded the 40-foot sub while one pounded on the hatch with his fist.
The video ends with a presumed trafficker emerging from the narco-sub, putting his hands up in surrender. Five alleged smugglers were seized aboard the vessel, and were handed over for prosecution by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

undoubtedly one of the most badass moments. although, drug lords coat these sub-submarines with some substance to increase the grip so that these smugglers do not trip/slip or fall into the ocean while unloading the drugs at the destination. Every once in a blue moon does the light shine on them. Katrina for example. 33k people were "rescued" out of the 60k from all the other rescue forces combined. What people didn't know was, while others were staging, and waiting for the winds to die down, CG Helo's were up flying, small -shallow water rescue boats were already in the water doing what they do. This is the LE side of the service that people don't often see. The LE boarding in 10+ ft seas at 2am that lasts for hours only to find nothing. It's an enjoyable job, both LE and Search and Rescue.

It’s addictive and ruins a lot of people’s lives, so they try to lower that opportunity to ruin more lives. Yeah these don’t submerge, these stay floating. The main purpose is so the body isn’t fully above the water to avoid radar detection. Though sonar can still pick them up.

SprinklezOG if you ever join the military and head down to MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) the Coast Guard members on duty were always the meanest but simultaneously had this aura of total badassery about them. *not in the armed forces. I was delayed entry for USMC but went to college instead.*

@@damiansconberg4715 Stopping drug trafficking isn't some all-or-nothing profession. These coast guards stopped THIS drug trafficker. 17,000 lbs of coke. Yeah, sure, it's not ALL of the drugs EVERYWHERE, but it's still a lot. And literally any number above zero is something. Plus, as said in an interview, catching subs like this is rare, it's considered quite a victory. What, you think the kind of guys who resort to selling drugs can just "pick up" another submarine? This was an extremely big hit to that area's drug industry.
