Check out shop.seethelittlethings.com and find something you like. We know money can't buy happiness, but it gets food in the galley, so we don't have to edit hungry.
Coastal cruising is not always what one thinks sailing life is like. Even on a longer passage that takes a good whole day, there is enough going on to keep us busy most of the time. The reality is that coastal cruising and real passage making is a world of difference.

Who are we?
We are a European couple from Germany (Alex) and the Netherlands (Mandy), sailing around the Med on our 36ft sailboat. 12 months ago we started our journey in Greece with little sailing experience, figuring things out as we go, thinking we know what we are getting ourselves into. Our goal is to circumnavigate the world on our 36ft Beneteau. Sailboat life is super different from land life. It is fantastic and pretty rough at times. see the little things tries to FIND HAPPINESS BY DOING THINGS THAT ARE HARD. Join us on this journey and let's find happiness together!
If you have any COMMENTS, suggestion, questions or feel to need to praise (or scold) us, leave a comment down below and we’d happily write you back :). Of course a THUMBS UP is ALWAYS APPRECIATED very much so and helps us a lot!

What I really do like with you two, is that you shy not away to show mistakes, errors and such. Because that is the reality and you do not hide it. As a couple you work really well together, especially under stress, as it seems. Its never a question about whos fault it is, but to help the one who is in need, no matter what. That is the recipe of pardner success.

Thanks, that’s nice to hear 😊 We do fight, just as every other couple, but out there we usually play our individual strengths and don’t get caught in each other’s weaknesses. Makes for a better sail and an enjoyable sundowner ;)

Thanks again for another great video, sharing the difficult moments along with the good ones. You guys inspired us to bite the bullet and live aboard, and now you continue to inspire and reassure us when we face scary moments out there on the water. You're very generous members of our liveaboard community and I just want to say a heartfelt thanks for that again. Fair winds. x

Mandy singing "I love my life, I love my life" just made me smile and then when the food was in the floor I laughed out loud! You guys have great attitudes and the demeanor to take this on. I think you really stepped up with this video, both cinematically and story telling wise. I presume you’ve got the gimbal? It helped show the movement of the boat and the swell much better, because the horizon stayed leveled. Also, you are the only sailing couple I know who is not afraid to show vulnerability and inexperience, which makes you very endearing and fun to watch. I’m kind of miffed that you don’t have more followers, while some crappy channels do. Anyways, keep up the good work and continue with this style of storytelling (the opening few minutes was some great editing), it’s really engaging. Fair winds (and yes, get a whisker pole for the genoa!).

Concerning your very rolly anchorage at Ibiza, you should try to use a so called swell bridle in the future. It is not difficult to implement and there are YT videos explaining the method. Looking forward to hear about your results.

Might want to consider a windvane autopilot - once set and the sails are trimmed it's good to go - though course is subject to wind changes so you need to keep an eye on that.

A whisker pole or... a square topsail. Time for the naval architects to revisit two-mast modern rigged Barkentines and such for multi-day passages.

Just a personal thing from the military but I'd use a blue light for your nav light, when you use a red light small/dim red lights will be impossible to see... just my opinion
@seethelittlethings
@seethelittlethings 3 года назад
We saw a recent article why blue lights are better and actually used by military. Fully agree. It’s just impossible to find official ones for the lafitte fitting on the nav table. . Recently we installed a multicolor led stripe in the saloon for low lights during night sails. It’s really good.
