2 soundings of BC Ferries' Coastal Inspiration's horn. - plus the welcome aboard and safety announcements (until the wind makes it impossible to hear - sorry). - June 6 2014
I’ve seen it on Mighty Machines, I’ve ridden it a few times and I agree with you. Glad I was inside the ship and not outside on the top deck every time the horn sounded!
I was able to make a transcript using the audio of this video and another video of it. I’m sorry it took a while but I lost interest because of how Barely you can hear some parts of it in either video. But I am very certain I am correct with the transcript completely so here it is. The coastal inspiration, it’s captain and crew are certified by transport Canada. In the unlikely event of an emergency an alarm will sound, if you hear the ship’s alarm remain calm, stay where you are please sit down and await instructions from a bc ferries crew member. All crew members may be identified by their reflective vests. You may be instructed to move to a designated assembly station. leave all handbags or luggage anything you have to carry at your seat. Assembly stations are designated by the letters a b c and d. A and b are on deck 6, c and d are on deck 5 there are signs directing you to these assembly stations throughout the ship. Life jackets for both adults and children are stored in marked lockers, along the outer decks on deck 5, and in the main passenger way on deck 6. if necessary a crew member may ask you to put on a life jacket, here’s how to do it. Pull the life jacket over your head, cross the straps around your back and tie them securely in front, now tie the straps beneath your chin. check to make sure your knots are tight and secure, Good. In the very unlikely event that it becomes necessary to abandon the vessel, you may be directed to a life saving apparatus station. There are 4 lsa stations on the coastal inspiration all on deck 5. each lsa station will be manned by trained crew members, you will be given clear instructions on the proper procedure for using the evacuation slide, there will be additional assistance provided for people with special needs, children, and the elderly. If the ships master believes it is necessary, the lsa system will be deployed, and the abandon ship order may be given. To use the slide, sit upright, and push your legs against the slide to control your decent. when you reach the bottom of the slide, a crew member will direct you to quickly board the liferaft, to make way for the next passenger. For related information on safety services, facilities and procedures. Ask any crew member for a safety instructions card, or see the safety displays.
