This intake is still running strong and true. It's a well-designed system and looks like it came stock, which I like in the engine bay (on my budget). There are a few good competing manufacturers that I would also recommend. For my build so far, @COBB is the choice.
Thanks! It's very smooth and helps the engine take in a lot of cool air. The tune that COBB provided compensates for the other parameters like fuel delivery and the engine is smooth as silk. The AOS and simultaneous spark plug change has added to the overall smooth idle and reliability.
Have you had any issues with your AF readings or engine spuddering? I have the same intake and recently since going stage 2, the AF reading randomly spike to 30 to 35%, the engine goes into a pause. You can floor the accelerator, pump the pedal and nothing. After 2 or so seconds the AF reading goes back to 0 +/- 5 and the engine come back online. Also while cruising on highway and hit the gas it will spudder sometimes doing the same thing. I would get the CEL saying low MAF voltage. I cleaned mine like 3 times, sprayed the stock MAF connector end, the MAF extender wire and for 2 months it seemed to make it go away. Now past 3 days, issues randomly. Yesterday all day. Today no issues until I drove home from work.
I haven't had those issues since I got the ETS J-Pipe and a good tuner. It was rich and idle would drop randomly. Sometimes sputtered when cruising. At that time, I had a J-Pipe that didn't have the catalyst inline with the O2 sensors. It was a bad combo with a bad tune. Your low voltage may be a symptom of a rich mixture also. Talk to some tuners about what you're experiencing and you'll find the one that can help you out of this issue. If you're waiting on more parts to tune, COBB may have a map that could get you close but take it easy. Let me know how that goes.
@@MrCliffWorks wrote to Cobb and read on a forum a bad MAF extension harness was the cause. Cobb had me send a picture of my harness and what do you know, I have a known defective harness. They are sending me a replacement free of charge. Hope it fixes my issues. On a different note I was hitting 19.2 psi on the stock boost gauge once I went stage 2+. I install the Cobb AOS and now best I get is 18.2 but mostly in the 17s. Not sure why but I will get a custom tune come spring.
@@EC-ht5og yeah. The engine didn't like too much boost on OTS map and my bummer tune. I'm hitting 19+ psi easy and very stable. Sometimes it cathes me off guard. Can't wait to hear about how the custom tune wakes up your ride✌🏼
