Join Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, and Martin Kove as the stars of the timeless classic, The Karate Kid and now the highly successful Cobra Kai series on RU-vid take on your questions about the rise & return of the franchise!
Cobra Kai was insanely good. This continuation/reunion of the Karate Kid movies was insanely good. I thank RU-vid and the original actors on making this series happen.
I found it to be terrible: scenery-chewing, socipathic people all over, and the school makes Massacre At Central High seem tame. Way too many fight scenes. Real violence like that wouldn't last a minute. They also called asthma fake, which could be deadly to anyone who takes that seriously.
Ray Gordon Teaches Chess yes 75% was cheesy, but the 25% that was good was completely overrated for the love of the films. The original films were really cheesy too
@@raygordonteacheschess5501 movies like this arent supposed to be liked for the realistic fighting element. The school fighting scene was amazing because it was so ridiculous.
William Zabka is so sweet, notice he makes sure to assure the kid that he asked a good question, even though it obviously wasn’t . Then he whispers no Ralph ‘Nah he’s a cool kid’
Zabka has such a good sense of humor, I'm glad that I'm liking Johnny more and more. Cobra kai has been awesome because I was able to take it back to my parent who's a fan of the original and now they love the new show as well.
It was hilarious in the second season watching Johnny with the Dell laptop finally discovering the internet as if it just came out for the first time. I was crackin up watching that! He's SOOOOO stuck in the 80's!
speaking of that scene where johny loses and comes over saying you're alright larusso! - one of my favorite moments in the karate kid. Gives johny so much more dimension.
#CobraKai is solid gold for 80s kids. Totally takes you back. Love this show. It's right up there with Game of Thrones, Walking Dead and American Horror Story as one of my ultimate must-watch favorites.
Totally understand, I binged both seasons and I could watch the 3rd now. With all the garbage shows on major networks, this is a classic in the making.
Love this show! Binge watched it this week. It's the reason I joined RU-vid premium. And I LOVE the fact that the show is NOT PC! Tons of us out there hungry for more shows like this.
Its interesting how the show is not PC, but its still completely diversified. Latin-American as one of the main characters, black girl is one of the toughest Cobra Kai characters, basically every minority is represented. But the stories aren't about trying to force that diversity down your throat. They represent as much as is reasonable for the story (such as Miguel's grandma/mom, which is a very latin family), but they also do things like have the asian american jerk be not at all a part of asian culture and is just a southern californian d-bag.
Met Martin and Zabka at Dallas Comic Con a few years ago. Some of the few celebrities that you can honestly tell they love their fans and enjoy interacting with them. I was having them sign the steelbook version of the movie and Martin even asked to borrow it....ran three or four tables down to show it to a fan he was just talking to. I guess he was telling the guy about it, and wanted to show him what it looked like. He took a free picture with me just to make up for the extra minute it took for him to run down there.
That girl who asked the second question, I believe, said something about her favorite part of KK3 was when Daniel broke the ice. That was in part 2. Surprised no one said anything but I guess they didn't want to embarrass her.
Ralph called him Darth Vader, but I think Johnny is more like him/Anakin and Kreese is Emperor Palpatine, with all the baiting and remorseless manipulation.
The first time I saw Martin as kreese in the movie the first thing I said was he looks like Harrison Ford and my dad told me to shut up every time I said it lol
One of my all time favorite movies.the Karate kid.cobra kai is now my all time favorite series. The writers knocked season 2 out the park.cant wait for season 3.😁
i two cant wait me and my brothers lived our lives to the music even done zen do kai gained our bushido cross first degress wich was very simaila style to cobra kai all of u have changed many lives loved johnys fire bird and stil lives in the eightys to u rock bro old school all the way
Ralph hit the nail on the head (no pun intended) with the "political correctness" answer. You can't tell people what's right and wrong because we are all constantly learning.
Cobra Kai is the best show anywhere.... I have watched both seasons twice and ready to go back again. Amazing, top notch storytelling and performances. The writing on this show is extraordinary.
You could tell Ralph wanted to strangle the guy asking him “What is the weirdest thing that’s happened to you” question lol. Around the 15:00 mark. That dork almost ruined this panel.
John Silverman needs more praise. He is a bad guy, but he is a big part of the show. Hope this show goes for at least 5 seasons. I litterally paid to watch kobra kai
9:00 I knew when I saw Johnny get kicked in the face in the cobrai kai show flashback it looked different. They used the take where his face was covered in water so it looked more "explosive." They never used that take in the movie however. Genius!
I'm super pumped that cobra kai is doing so great ! I remember being little watching the karate kid hating Johnny. After watching the new series I find myself on Johnny's side and really routing for a positive outcome for him.
These guys played such ICONIC CHARACTERS that were kinda typecast. Not kinda. They were. I'm glad they have a 2nd Act. They deserve it for all the good theyve done.
26mins, that guys question is very interesting. People find violence entertaining, this is undeniable. I took karate and kickboxing as a kid and it was in my way my "fight club". There's nothing wrong with giving in to your carnal nature and instinct a little. Just don't overdo it - I'm looking at you, Hawk.
this series is such a blast for us who grew up with the movies and the the younger cast is just as great. This is everything Star wars was suppose to be
Grodd70 - no shit. Ralph Macchio was 26-27 when they filmed karate kid 3. Karate kid (1) came out in 1984 I believe, 35 fucking years ago. How the fuck do all of these guys still have hair?!
Great seeing so many of them after so many years gone by..After all of the time gone by and looking back Pat Morita was really the star in the originals..Wish he was still was us..Rest in Peace Pat...
Between the music que’s at the right moment and him training at the beach with the crane kick nothing quite gets me in my feelings like these old classics.
This was awesome! It was weird because all of a sudden at the end Ralph was looking down at his phone and wanted to cut the interview right away at the end! Maybe Ralph got a text saying, "can you hurry and finish this so we can finally grab a bite to eat?? " Lol.
We are in a golden age of “TV”, the shows that are coming out are full of depth and intrigue and posit so many ideas of human nature. Some talk about how everything is getting redone, well guess what, when you get it right you can create something exceptional. This series gets it right! Can’t wait to see what comes next!
Those people don't age lol. Well maybe 7% for Kreese, 5% for Johnny and Daniel but that's about it, very marginal aging. Prolly cuz the movie itself is timeless and immortal...which by extension is why this show is AWESOME!! A total must watch for all :D
I was hoping somebody asks them what their reaction was when they heard about a karate kid remake starring jackie chan and jayden smith and what is their opinion about the film especially if its kung fu and not karate being showcased
What makes this show work so well is that the main characters make terrible mistakes and lose as many fights as they win. Each grow in their own way. THIS is what makes for good stories. The garbage you find like the mary sue in star wars could have learned a valuable lesson from this.
I wonder how many parents and teenagers are watching together (because duh us 80s babies are watching for our reasons, and teenagers might watch because it's also a good youth show) ... and how many conversations are happening about important issues because of it.
