You two talk over SO MANY important parts... No wonder why you´re so clueless when certain scenes happen. You´re straight up talking over character-changing scenes.
Oh yeah, for sure. I was rolling. Because when he got the call you know he was like "Daniel-San is here? Of course I'll come!.....but I have to fuck with him. I gotta be the old me one more time." LOL
Seeing Chozen drop the tough guy exterior and see him for the great man we always hoped he'd become is such a highlight for the Karate Kid universe. His little giggle after the honk was so lovable.
Sam acting in very similar ways to young Daniel, trying to fight back the bullying of Cobra Kai and falling in all the traps. Migayi Do has no real leader at the moment, meanwhile Cobra Kai is fighting in "smart ways" as their Sensei is teaching them. Also Tory unbalance the fight inmediatly, and Sam couldn't face her because the PTSD triggered.
@@partypiano0729 She did a movie back in the day "Adventures in Babysitting" More recently in the first season of "The Boys" as Stillwell. Though what happened to her in "The Boys" just made me think "Well she can be on S3 of Cobra Kai now."
Poor Demetri this episode. He didn't even really want to be a part of this but persuaded by Sam but sadly she was so emotionally triggered by Tory that she was unable to save Demetri. I hated this scene. Also, while Sam is obviously not an ideal leader, I do understand her panic attacks. I mean Tori did try to kill her.
@@Mike-ts2eq Ok. I don't hate Sam. I do think she was impulsive and the group should have contacted the police/authorities but for the most part, I was anti-Cobra Kai.
Ya I see where your coming from but I do see what Sam was trying to do because cobra kai was pretty much pushing miyagi do around but I wouldn't of started a fight their especially if they probably had the whole thing planned out
While its easy to be annoyed/upset at Sam for not helping Demetri, I completely understand what she was experiencing coming from someone who experiences panic attacks you feel like you can't move and feel helpless to do anything and Tory did try to kill her so the trauma would be monumental I imagine
@@puertoricanprince7690 someone tried to kill her/severely injure her (could've blinded her probs permanently) and she'd never experienced anything severe like that before (unlike Daniel) for a teenager that would be pretty fricking traumatic whether or not you end up "winning" the fight or whatever
@@puertoricanprince7690 yeah, the writing is not good there. Its a forced angle, just like the entire cheating on Robby/Tory is relegated to troll comments from Hawk and parents at the PTA meeting
@@6WaysToSomeday think about it like rocky vs Ivan drago. Rocky won the fight but Ivan broke him. If given the chance again rocky wouldn’t fight him again. Tory and Sam fought over something petty and Tory tried to kill her for that
Yeah. The kids are out of control. I can’t say that I hate any of them because they are both in some capacity without a guiding light. Daniel isn’t there to instill wisdom in them. And as for Cobra Kai, they are being guided by Kreese, and taught to not have sympathy for their victims. So it makes sense that they are taking it to the extreme.
Guys, Sam is legit suffering PTSD.. she fears Tori really wants to harm her, maybe put her in the hospital, like Miguel =>next episode opening She did not know Tori was back.
@@6WaysToSomeday I don't think you could call that a 'planned' attack - she saw an opportunity and took it. I think planning requires more forethought, like if she had lured them out somewhere with the express intention of starting a fight.
I get the irritation towards sam but she’s a kid who went through a traumatic event and she couldn’t help that panic attack she had. Things like that aren’t easy to cope with especially at 16 or 17. But I do understand but I don’t think she should get all the hate and blame
@@gabbycollins132 panic attacks is something you can't deal with it that quick, you need a lot of time for overcome that, and it can happen any time at any day, you can't control panic attacks in the beginning i complete understand sam in this situation, it's just bad timing when it happened.
I totally get her PTSD. But I must say it was sad to see her actively sought out a fight, and she lead the charge in what ended up getting her friends hurt.
@@XxXDestroyer i 100% agree. Alls im saying is she does not deserve all the blame and hate for that reaction she had. She never should have looked for that fight. But shes also a teenager and thinking with emotion rather than rationally.
I think the fight was building up from everything cobra kai was doing. In school getting out of trouble and pushing the blame all on them, stealing miguels charity money from the car wash and beating up the small one, and now messing with them at work. They are still kids who want revenge for things like that. Sam I think is just angry with everything and can't control her emotions as much. When tory walked she snapped and broke down scared like she was suffering from ptsd from tory. Seeing hawk stand there after breaking demitri arm I think made him feel the same as he felt when miguel got super hurt due to a fight hopefully
Exactly. I don't know why people don't get that. Cobra Kai are out of control and taking so much shit too far and they need to be stopped. You can't blame people for wanting to get back at them when they're being this insane and getting away with it. Maybe if the school and the police did their jobs properly, the Miyagi-Do students wouldn't have to go after them themselves.
Sam didn't have to start that fight, but that's what happens when you're bullied. You desperately search for ANY way to make it stop. Doing nothing they still get bullied. Fighting back they still get bullied. Nothing's working for them. I fully empathize with trying to prove that you can't be bullied.
Agreed but I'm with them on this I don't think this was the way. She shouldn't be the one to seek out a fight and lead her fiends into a battle in which many got hurt.
Things kind of have to be like that when you're in that kind of place. Different rules inside but the message is the same - respect goes a long way. Or at least, they recognize that Robbie isn't a punk bitch like they first viewed him as. But this is tv show and I've never been to juvie/jail so I am only speculating lol.
One thing I love about this show is its focus on forgiveness. Something that is extremely lacking in our society right now, where you make one mistake or one bad choice and you're a monster forever in people's eyes (and I'm talking about all sides and groups).
I agree with you Kacee about Sam. She shouldn't have started those fights without being ready to face off with Tory again. But let's go easy on her, she is learning and has the best teacher, her dad.
Yeah it's easy to say not to start the fights and all that watching this episode but it's a parallel to the situation Robbie was in. She wanted to not be the victim, so she chose to bring the fight to them and show that it isn't going to continue like that if she has anything to say about it. Robbie tried to get by his time in juvie with the 'defense only', until Kreese had to remind him that the real world doesn't follow Miyagi-do's beliefs, and that you have to be the first to act. We saw two outcomes to this, where it worked out for Robbie, but for Sam - she learned that the real world is not a tournament, and things got way too real fast when the odds suddenly weren't in her favor anymore.
yeah this episode was tough. I understand what you're saying but Sam is literally experiencing PTSD from her fight with Tory and she's trying to deal with it by fighting back and it's backfiring hardcore. Sam did feel remorse for what happened afterward and also expressed that she froze up when Tori entered the fight. this can happen a lot with people who suffer from trauma like what she experienced at the end of the last season. you're right in that the kids need guidance (especially Hawk and Sam) but unfortunately, Daniel isn't around to guide Miyagi Do and the one guiding the Cobra Kai kids is...well...Kreese. I can't wait to see your reactions to the rest of this season. it only keeps getting better from here!
Sam is trying to get over her fear by literally fighting it. That’s why she went after Cobra Kai. But with Tori involved, she fully broken down into a panic attack and could not move. Now she feels extremely guilty for freezing and just letting Demetri be hurt. Keep in mind that acting during a panic attack is akin to walking on a broken leg, much easier said then done. Cobra Kai has been fighting smart while Miyagi-Do has been fighting reactively, emotionally, and often aggressively. It’s why Cobra Kai been getting the upper hand lately. Miyagi-Do needs to calm down and be smart. Hawk, though, he hesitated breaking Demetri’s arm and then showed instant regret after succumbing to peer pressure.
I think you're underestimating a blown panic attack. And can even be considered to be a form of ptsd. Sam literally couldn't move. You're whole body freezes when someting like that happenes. They should have never gone over there for "payback" but it's not right to put her down more for what happened. Like Sam said to her mom, "you have not been paying attention"
Sam has PTSD at this point, from the fight in the school. She's mentally crumbling, isn't getting any support from her parents (in her eyes, Amanda just shuts her down and Daniel is more concerned with his business than with her). She's trying to get back on the horse but without guidance, she's making all the bad choices. She want's to prove to herself she can't be beaten (like her father did years before). But the fulcral point of her PTSD is, of course, Tory. She froze at the idea of confronting her again. She went there hoping to win back her confidence. If anything, that fight had the opposite effect, which was to show Sam not only she can be beaten, she actually was broken. She's scared shitless of Tory (and with good reason, Tory is mentally unstable at best). This is not a cowardice issue. She wanted to help Dimitri. She just wasn't able to, mentally. Great reaction guys. I gotta watch your other content.
1988 I was in first grade. That was also the year my classmate found some "adult literature" in our local forest for us to ponder about. Johnny's dream girl might have been in that magazine.
As soon as Sam gets called out for starting another fight she puts on the water works and uses emotional manipulation to shift blame. Sure Hawk broke Demetri arm, but she started the fight. I know some idiot will make an excuse like "well they started it at the arcade" actually they didn't they were being a public nuisance then stole tickets in front of witnesses. At no time did they (Sam and the Miagi-Do) get the owners involved to get the members of Cobra Kai banned from the park. She (Sam) makes bad decisions, but she's hardly held accountable for them outside of being suspended and being grounded when caught in a lie by her Mom.
By the way, that was the real life Dee Snider, vocalist of the famous rock band Twisted Sister, in the concert. They most def got the real one to do a cameo. That face is so recognizable, there is no way, that was anyone but the real Dee.
School does suck. I told you what happened in college. In junior high, the teacher left the room, the whole class attacked me. The school blamed me. I was given after school detention, had to walk home which was miles. I got lost, I would have got suspended if my brother in-law had not interferred.
It's the same actor for Anthony (LaRusso son) he just had his growth spurt and shed the baby pounds. As for Sam, I may not be a 'stan' but you have to understand that she had been having panic attacks and the sudden appearance of Tory triggered the trauma which completely rendered her helpless. As for the 'you picked a fight' reason, while I get you have to take the high road; it had been building up especially when Hawk and the others stole the money for Miguel. Sometimes to make the bullying stop, you have to hit back HARD. It just didn't fell on favor of Miyago-do this time.
Perfectly said. That's what I saw that interaction as. It was a culmination of Cobra Kai attacks and Sam got fed up with it. She even hinted that her viewpoint was that, too, when she said Cobra Kai was always training and that they should be as well. She didn't want her and her friends to be victims so she went to strike first.
Sam def has Ptsd. She completely shuts down once its triggered. She can fight but Tory is a trigger since she literally carved up Sams arm. That is far above simple fighting, and she was going to do that to Sams face. Tory went from fighting to assault with a weapon, just like Robbie, she went too far.
I don't understand why some people think it's Sam's fault, Cobra kai was messing with them at school and now at work, what are they supposed to do? Let them be? Yeah maybe it wasn't a good idea and it was risky, but saying or implying that it's all her fault because she "started the fight" is just stupid.
It’s completely her fault. Chris could of told his manager what cobra Kai was doing and had them kicked out or call the police. The Miyagi do way is to fight only when they have to or when protecting others. Sam insisted on trying to jump them cuz she thought they had numbers. What’s worst is when Tory showed up she let her friends get beat up when she’s the one who wanted to fight
@@gjjijji I will just disagree on tha part where "she did nothing" as she literally *couldn't* as panic attacks are a serious issue. The rest all true, you don't start a fight if you are not 100% sure you are ready to finish, or at the very least, deal with any outcome.
@@gjjijji yeah I knew someone would say something about telling the authorities, but as we've all seen, authorities in cobra kai are pretty much useless, and Sam already thinks they can't get justice that way because in school cobra kai always get away with it. About she not being able to do something, she's traumatized with Tori, it's not like she didn't want to help.
@@mario_gabriel i give you the cop thing because they did show us why that wouldnt work but my point is that it’s sams fault because that’s not what she was trained to do. In karate kid 2 Miyagi didn’t care when chozen and friends destroyed his dojo or plants. Only fought back to protect Daniel and accepted sato fight to save the village. Also Chris should of told his manager what was happening with cobra Kai instead of calling Sam. I get that they were causing chaos but I work at a retail shore where people do the same thing. I can’t call my friends to beat them up
@@gjjijji it's true she didn't train to do that, but she tried to fight back, defend herself or maybe feel stronger and not bullied, she did make a mistake doing that I agree, but saying it's all her fault is nonsense and that is what I'm trying to say. Well Chris also witnessed how the authorities are useless maybe he didn't trust them either, besides as far as we know he didn't ask them to go there, he just texted Sam that cobra kai was messing with him at work, and it was Sam that decided to go. This was more than just "guys causing chaos at a store" that's why she wanted to fight, it was cobra kai messing with them all the time, they even destroyed Demetri's science project that took him 3 weeks for what? Nothing, and they weren't even punished. I'm not saying that starting that fight is the right way to go is just that people should try to understand instead of blaming her and saying stuff like "well she started it they deserved what they got".
Dos Cavazos, the purpose of Daniel's wife mentioning Rambo in the dojo scene with Kreese because Martin Kove the actor happens to be in that film franchise too,so it was to serve as a nod to it only for the fans of both franchise and nothing more.
Same Anthony, just lost a lot of weight. The one I was surprised about was apparently that's also the original Yuna girl he saved which feels like awesomely going all out. :) Love this show and love the reactions!
You're too hard on Sam. Cobra Kai kicked the shit out of one of them, harrased the second one at his work. It's normal that team Miyagi wanted to show them they're still tough and won't let them get away with acting this way.
I think they get that. But she still sought out a fight, and she lead the charge in what ended up getting her friends hurt. So I understand their annoyance.
@@XxXDestroyer i dont, because imagine fighting someone who literally wants to tear ur fucking face off, what if tory brought back that lethal weapon or a gun this time, they are just not getting it sadly, even my boi told her they were coming for him at work,if they didnt do that sam wouldnt have to fight, she is really sticking up for her friends
@@folakamau9463 I'm just talking about this specific occasion, where Sam is the one who got the group together and initiated the fight. This time wasn't about self defense like their Karate usually is, she took the encounter to the next level. I think we all understand why she did, but that still doesn't make it the right decision.
Everyone talking about how Sam has PTSD and so shouldn't be blamed is missing the point that this whole season, she instigates fights and then plays the victim when it doesn't work out. She annoyed me so much this season.
Her whole reason for THIS fight was because she was sick of being victimizes by Cobra Kai. Sometimes it's better to Confront the bully and lose rather than do nothing and be a push over for the rest of your life. The sad part is she thought she was ready but realized she wasn't when Tory showed up
@@Matt-vg7tr I understand that, but this fight more than any other, the best option would have been to call the police. Now they've actually stolen things from the arcade. It's kind of like the confrontation at the stating place that Tory worked at. Rather than attacking her back after the bump, the best option would have been to report her to management rather than retaliate. Even though both of those choices she made wern't the best, I would have been fine with it if she had accepted that she made the wrong choice rather than trying to play victim. Same with the football/soccer match. Instigate and then complain.
Your Sam was in the wrong. That means your saying Sam shouldn’t stand up for her friends and herself. Also saying Sam should let them pick on them and bully them.
I side with Sam. Panic attacks are no joke, and Tory showing up totally unbalanced the fight. I get that the Cobra kids are being led astray by Kreese, but that doesn't mean they have to take things to such an extreme.
If Miago do leader had been a guy and he just sat there in his 'ptsd' letting a girl get her bones broken not even trying to help everyone would think him the biggest lowest coward in the universe. But because Sam is a girl she gets all the sympathy.
This is the first time I’ve disagreed this hard wirh one of your takes. While Samantha was stupid to start the fight, as someone who’s experienced a lot of what they were doing to the Miyagi-do’s, you can’t ask ppl being shit on every day to not eventually snap. You cheered Miguel for kicking his bullies’ asses in season 1. This is no different s than that. She just doesn’t have the luxury of untrained opponents
