Episode 10 might have to be a reaction followed by a review. You guys will be blown away. Cobra Kai Season 2 did the unthinkable, it surpassed Season 1.

Daniel's son is away at summer camp, have to disagree about Johnny should have won, I'm glad Daniel won but I do feel sorry for Johnny in the series and root for both him and Daniel. I like their interactions together, they both can push each other's buttons and bring out the worst in each other but they can also get along once they set aside their differences.

4:33 that low grab is in a in a lot of forms in karate and taekwondo. Some people have said it's grabbing or hitting someone groin area but more realistically it's probably grabbing an incoming kick.

I got to say I love you guys's reaction to COBRA Kai I personally watched all 10 episodes over the course of half a day that's how fast I was watching it. I don't know how you guys can keep yourselves restrained from watching the next episode because of how good the show is it just makes you want to watch more episodes, but I commend you for your efforts cuz I couldn't do it.

Daniel the good guy in the original story. Cobra kai is showing everyone has good and bad in them. It's up to the choices we make that leads us to good or bad side. But we all can change sides. 👍 to the reaction

Dimitri is tough when insulting Hawk behind the computer or in front of a group of people. Hawk may act like a bully, but it's hard to sympathize with Dimitri on this.

@Kent Goertzen Hawk told Dimitri time and time again to leave him alone. It's not like Hawk went out of his way to pursue Dimitri and pick on him. Dimitri just didn't want to see Hawk for his new style and continued to pursue their old relationship.

They're both hot heads, johnny in his cobra kai gang, and on very bad terms with ali trying to get her back, and daniel, rightly or wrongly sticking his nose or his 'd' into it (between johnny and ali), and did his own bullying/retaliation to johnny, just as johnny did to daniel as well. YES, DANIEL DID BULLY cobra kai and johnny: seriously, the shower scene was a big fkn deal, daniel fkn VIOLATED his own miyagi's contract with kreese, cobra kai would let daniel train for the tournament, and daniel just dissed miyagi's honor, and had to go f'k around with johnny with the shower scene, despite that cobra kai and johnny were completely obiding by their agreement honorably (albiet in fear of kreese, who would beat the $hit out of them if they disobeyed). (if miyagi knew what daniel did, with the shower scene to johnny, he'd not have saved daniel, as he deserved it, having no honor and dishonoring miyagi and his teaching, and we know from season 2 and/or just basic cultural knowledge of asia as a whole, and especially with japan and okinawa, honor is a big fkn deal. It was daniel who provoked them, he deserved them coming after him, he CHOSE to f'k with johnny, who, along with the rest of cobra kai, leaving daniel alone, honoring their contract, as daniel violated it, being a "d-bag") And, before the shower scene, daniel further was an a-hole/'d', taunting them (in front of ali, showing off to her, further rubbing it in to johnny), using and abusing their contract, to get at cobra kai, as they honored their contract not doing anything back to 'd-bag' daniel, as daniel dishonored miyagi, being a d'-bag' towards them, while they couldn't do anything.

@@redmoonbloodmoon3161 While I agree that both Johnny and Daniel are hotheads who were both responsible for their feud, you've made a mistake. The shower incident at the Halloween Dance happened BEFORE the agreement between Kreese and Miyagi. In fact, the beating Daniel got for that was the catalyst for the agreement in the first place. You can't break a contract that doesn't exist yet. Furthermore, even if the shower had occurred after this agreement between Miyagi and Kreese, Daniel still hasn't done anything to violate it. Daniel's only obligation is to show up at the tournament. Nothing was said about not harassing or even pranking Cobra Kai. Had this happened after the meeting of the Senseis, It would have been Johnny and his gang who broke the contract as their obligation was to keep their hands off of Daniel. Even if Daniel has broken this contract, the idea that Mr. Miyagi would stand back and allow Daniel to be severely beaten over some notion of 'honor' is ridiculous and insulting to the character. The man had no qualms ignoring aspects of honor that made no sense. He fled halfway across the Earth to avoid a fight to the death with his best friend over honor.

@@alrush34 oops... haha... my bad... about the shower scene mistake, in it happening before the contract, my bad memory just embarrased me, as I loved the karate kid when little and still do now, guess I need to rewatch it to freshen back up on it a bit (ya, I know miyagi would still protect daniel, but I was getting tired, and didn't want to waste time explaining that, which is pretty obvious, but my point is that daniel ain't a total innocent victim, he caused a lot of the stuff that happened to him, it wasn't just johnny being the bad guy) it's clearly understood, that if johnny (and cobra kai) can't mess with daniel, then daniel isn't allowed to mess with johnny and cobra kai, as they're both to train for the tournament, using the tournament to settle things between them (and thus not messing with each other outside of the tournament), and daniel dishonored miyagi in doing so (daniel did taunt johnny after the contract, using it to being able to do so freely without them being able to do anything, that makes daniel a total d-bag and disrepecting miyagi, both in terms of the honor with the contract and his teachings)

@@redmoonbloodmoon3161 No worries, I've embarrassed myself plenty of times as well due to faulty memory. I've just recently re-watched the original films in anticipation of the new season so it's still fresh in my mind. I'd definitely recommend watching the films again soon as they still hold up, more or less. The third movie is definitely the weakest IMO with it's Captain Planet villain Terry Silver (yeah, he's part of the lore and lots of people love him, but Goddamn, did he love chewing the scenery), to say nothing of Daniel being afraid of Mike Barnes. C'mon Daniel, you just fought a death match in the last movie! I also agree that Daniel played his part in the bad blood between he and Johnny. A big part of Daniel's character is that he is a cocky loudmouth who causes most of his own problems. I may have come across as a little harsh about Mr. Miyagi not stepping in to save Daniel and apologize. I find it too easy to come across as a pedantic d-bag myself sometimes. We may have to agree to disagree as to the nature of the contract. While I acknowledge that Daniel is in the wrong running his mouth as soon as he realizes that Johnny won't retaliate, I don't see that as a violation of the contract per se. I was under the impression that it pertained to physical attacks. I feel that Daniel's taunting is more a manifestation of his character flaw. Something that Mr. Miyagi does point out in the course of their training when he rebukes Daniel for talking too much.

I feel like, if Johnny had won that tournament, Kleese would have continued to be an influence on him, and he would have turned out worse. This way, Kleese got out of Johnny's life enough that Johnny was able to hold on to some humanity. As shitty as his life turned out, he at least wasn't doing illegal stuff. He was making an honest living. That has to count for something. 😊🌺🏝️❤️

I am totally with her when she says "I love Amanda", I love her too, she has a cool quirky way of saying things that makes it hard not too, such as her here saying "so, are you two done comparing class sizes?". Lol. Another good one was with Johnny and Daniel about to fight by the pool, her saying "as much as I'd love to see you duke it out with your childhood karate rival, I kinda don't want blood on the pool deck, so why don't we instead settle this over some breakfast?", Amanda is awesome!

Personally, I'm glad to see Dimitri standing up for himself at last. He couldn't take on Hawk physically, so he played to his strengths and used his verbal skills. He struck back, he struck hard, and he showed no mercy. And having turned on his best friend twice, Hawk deserves no mercy. I just hope that Dimitri is going to double down on his Karate lessons from now on.

I recently rewatched those Karate Kid movies and lol Daniel didn't start anything on purpose , Johnny was a bad boyfriend and took the first strike against Daniel who didn't even know that was the ex who would jump Daniel with his Cobra kai gang . I'm rooting for both Johnny and Daniel in the show though.

Liked the episode and your reactions. I honestly can’t wait until you see episode 10. Lol. But I have to admit, now that I think about it, I kinda feel like maybe Kyer and his friends should’ve been Daniels students. I mean, like maybe they start off like Robby, and take martial arts as a way to get revenge on Miguel and his friends. But towards the end, they end up chilling out. Like Robby. Plus I feel like it would add more fuel to the fire between the two groups. Since they’ll all already have bad history towards each other. Plus, why they don’t like each other would make more sense, as oppose to the new characters. Who simply don’t like each other, because they go to different martial arts school.

Interesting you mention Johnny should have won the '84 match and what would have happened. I thought the show could have gone the other way with the guys' fates - just because the "good guy" (Daniel) won the tourney doesn't automatically guarantee being a winner in life. The show could have opened in which Johnny is in a much better place (his loss actually was a boon to his perspective) and using his family's influence, could have done better career wise. Zabka himself said in an interview in 2014, that he thought Johnny would end up in real estate; of course that was before CK came along. Daniel could still be the sensitive kid prone to "poking the bear" who didn't become the automotive giant he is today but instead became someone who loses jobs due to an explosive temper when a boss or co-worker sets him off.

The idea that Daniel is the bully in the original movie, is insane. You were never meant to really sympathise with Johnny until the end. You WERE supposed to get that Kreese turned those kids into bullies, but there was no doubt that that's what they were. I mean...a bunch or karate black belts, kicking seven shades of shit out of a kid any one of them had 40 pounds on...just cus he punched a guy who shoved him when he tried to stick up for a girl? Seriously? If you saw guy treating someone the way Johnny was treating Ali, you'd think you'd be bullying him by trying to get him to stop? The movie pulled out every stop to make sure people got that Johnny was the bad guy. He was never portrayed as evil or beyond redemption, but a victim of Daniel's "bullying"? Hell no! That RU-vid video was a meme, as the guy who created it freely admits. Since when does getting someone's joint wet, surpass forcing them down a steep-ass hill on their bike, or piling on them, 4v1 and holding them while you kick the shit out of them?

"wish Johnny could've won"..... nah, it worked out for the best as like Daniel said to Mr Miyagi in the locker room thatif he couldn't stand up and fight, the CK guys/Johnny would've always had that (as well as everything other than Alli up to that point) over him and he would never have balance in his life. Also, Johnny and crew wouldn't have gotten to see what a psycho Kreese was at the time ... of course Daniel/Johnny both changed over the years as both are neither a total good/bad guy, but somewhere in between and the writers have really brought that out... great reaction as always and keep em coming

I just finished season 2 a few days ago now that it’s on Netflix!!! I watched the first season when it came out on RU-vid I did a free trail for a month on RU-vid premium. When season 2 came out I didn’t want to pay for it so I never watched it till I found out it’s now on RU-vid.

A thought: you cannot think logically when under extreme emotion. Onlookers always seem to say, why didn’t [so-and-so] do [logical-course-of-action]? Because they didn’t even know [logical-course-of-action] existed at the time. They couldn’t think that way. It’s all instinct and reaction, fight or fight- and pre-memorization and practiced. It’s always important to have plans for emergencies and extreme situations. Under stress, you can still follow them whereas you may have otherwise never considered them in the moment. Be prepared.

The "Low Grab" is up to different interpretations. Personally I'd give that it's more a lock/break, if you see they block higher with the left arm first. Then turn the wrist with their left hand, in practice it would be blocking a punch, then grabbing the wrist, and pulling their arm towards you pulling them off balance. The other hand (the lower strike) would lock the arm behind the elbow into an arm lock (or possibly more aggressive a break).

Everyone else is saying they want Johnny to get with Carmen or back with Ali but...his ex girl is going into rehab because she loves her son. Obviously he still has feelings for her too because he kept her picture up after he cleaned up his apartment. Think about it....the best possible ending is for Johnny to be able to bring his family back together and fix at least one of his past mistakes.

Dimetri, his best friend, has betrayed Hawk so much (just like Sam did to Aisha in season 1)... go back and watch... what a horrible "BFF" demitri has been to hawk, and his beloved cobra kai, which changed his life of abuse and loser-dom around. If it wasn't for cobra kai, hawk would be "lip" for his entire miserable $hitty life, cobra kai saved eli's life, and eli would be that asian ex-bf's of sam's (can never remember/know his name), and his gang's, sissy plaything, whereas his fkn retarded mom (and the school's fkn retarded teachers), just made it fkn worse for eli, if you remember that scene back in season 1, with it ending, showing eli going to his room and bed, crying his heart out. Thanks a fkn lot, retarded mom (and fkn retarded school teachers) Don't forget, it was cobra kai miguel, who stood up for eli (and for sam and aisha too: he got johnny to take her in as a cobra kai student, as he saw her being abused too and cared for her, as he cared also for eli and demitri too), demitri never did a damn thing for eli, despite being his "BFF"... some fkn friend...

Sure, he wasn't impressed with it in season one, but he didn't think it was doing anything negative for Eli; he just seemed to figure it wasn't for him. In fact, he seemed quite impressed when it came time for the tournament. Hawk's problem is that Cobra Kai became all-encompassing. By the time of the All Valley tournament, Hawk hadn't just "flipped the script" and changed his image or become more confident, he'd become an entirely different person, tossing aside any aspect of his old life even if it wasn't detrimental to him. For example, anything "nerdy" he rejects, and that's largely what brought him and Demetri together in the first place. They were both into coding, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, and all other stuff - things that weren't hurting his image and, at least as far as the coding goes, would have opened up a lot of opportunities for him in the future. By rejecting that and anyone whose identity was wrapped up in it, he essentially rejected Demetri. Demetri, I think, decided to give Cobra Kai a second try just for Hawk's sake because he didn't want the friendship to come down to whether or not he wore a gi. He turned to Miyagi-Do later not because he had an interest in karate (he says as much) but because he wanted to show Hawk that he could stand up for himself, too. It was all about self-defense for Demetri, but for Hawk it became way more than that. I would say that Demetri and Eli were quite close and did a lot for each other back before Cobra Kai, but Demetri just couldn't follow him where his new interests were taking him and Hawk took it personally. A lot of friendships do that when one member of the group decides to turn over a new image, as Sam did with Aisha. The difference is that it came down to whether or not the two could learn to respect each other even if they started going in different directions. Demetri really tried, even giving Hawk some good advice after Moon dumped him, but Hawk has no interest in realizing he's wrong about some things. He's either going to have a major eye-opener in the third season or become a casualty of his own fragile ego.

I just feel like Johnny was bullied by his stepfather and then bullied and manipulated by Kreese; I better understand his hesitancy during Robby’s birth. I don’t agree with his reluctance, but better understand why he was scared-his father role models were not great.
