Cobra Kai Season 5 Spoiler Interview: Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg 

I loved that.the focus was on the adults this season. Chozen was the star, he was so great..I loved this season.

It was great to see Sean Kanan. I wished they used him more but he was absolutely brilliant with the role he played! The Bad Boy is back and he’s definitely one of the bro’s now… thanks 😊

Great great great interview. They should make more episodes. Or 45min per episode. It gives some more character build time. With a lot of storylines (and they are putting more storylines in each season) it is a outcome.

I binged season 5 in one sitting. That wasn't my plan, but I couldn't stop. I avoided all trailers and was glad I did; I had no idea what to expect and couldn't have enjoyed the ride more. This is top-notch quality entertainment, and I can't wait for season 6. What's gonna happen with Kenny? Also thanks for not killing Chozen.

For purposes of awards consideration : 1. COBRA KAI IS A DRAMA SERIES. Cobra Kai is not a comedy series. The show must be correctly positioned in the proper categories. 2. THOMAS IAN GRIFFITH AS TERRY SILVER IS THE LEAD ACTOR OF COBRA KAI SEASON 5. He should be a nominee in the category of BEST LEAD ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES. For purposes of season 5, Thomas Ian Griffith is not a supporting player. Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso may conceivably garner a nomination in said category this year as well thanks mainly to his dramatic scenes with Griffith.

Trivia: Sean Kanan starred in a 1987 horror film where his father owned a furniture store. I believe this was intentional by the CK writers for S5.

Great interview. Pity they could not provide even a small sense of when season 6 will be. All I ask humbly is for the story to move forward. Let the character arcs move forward. Please, no WWE-like heel turns for any of the major characters. That would hurt real bad.

I loved the season, but here's one issue I had with it, which was the constant plot device use of having it seem like people are either going to die or be seriously hurt. They did it last season with Miguel's back, and basically it was no big deal in the end, making the end of S4E9 kind of a fake out. It sets up a precedent of really screwing with the audience in a way that makes those moments, where you really think someone is getting hurt, to lack impact, because you are constantly being faked out by these jokers lol. They did it repeatedly this season, with Kenny using the silver bullet on both Hawk and Robby, where they slow things down and make it look like those characters will die from this move, and they did it with Kreese, and Chozen. Whenever there's a camera angle that's above the character that basically means "they dead" but not on this show, it means you're probably getting lied to. And later, when they actually do kill someone, people will feel mislead because they did it a lot previously and no one actually died. So they have to watch out for that trope, although I think they know they kinda blew their wad with it this season. Aside from that, this show does harken back to various action movies, and specifically it reminds me of Remo Williams, although I haven't heard the creators mention it in interviews. It also now has a cool Bruce Lee-ish vibe where the karate is getting more dangerous, and mystical, at the same time. So having it go to a global sort of secret world stage karate tournament is a great idea, because it forces everyone to up their game that much more, although having all these kids becoming basically ninjas does take away from the "fun" that the show originally had, sort of a Breakfast Club meets Breaker High type of thing. I know these guys have watched Twin Peaks, because they did a nod to it in that scene with Sam, even using the frickin black lodge sound at one point lol. And interestingly, Cobra Kai came out within a year of Twin Peaks S3, which basically turned the show into something which basically made it so no one would ever care if that show came back again (with the exception of die hards)...so with Cobra Kai, these guys are in "jump the shark" territory. don't mess this up boyz.

My season 6 fan theory: Upon entering the international tournament, Daniel spends all of his time honoring Mr Miyagi in the media. But it comes out through an investigative journalist that Mr Miyagi received a dishonorable discharge in his Army service, which causes his name to be dishonored on the world stage. But who else but none other than Julie from The Next Karate Kid shows up to help clear his name since it was her grandfather that served with him in the Army. After his name is cleared, the Miyagi name is now and forever honored in the eyes of the entire world. Granted there are many twists and turns to lead to this outcome, but I feel that it could lead to a lot of great story telling which the writers of this show are so good at doing.

Yea I was about to be done with the show when Kreese got stabbed.. Like no way they are killing him off.. but they got me at the end

They can make Julie-San Mike Barnes’ wife. Julie could’ve met Mike after Miyagi’s passing and by that time Mike was so ashamed about his karate past that he didn’t tell her about it.

Season 6 the last season?

These guys should have been in charge of the Star Trek and Star Wars franchises.. Too bad.

What i would like to see is Anthony really learn the miyagi do karate like from Chosen . Because Chosen knows both sides of Miyagi do . And fans love to see more of Chosen . And it would be cool of Chosen becoming Abhony's kind of mr Mr Miyagi .
