@@Mo-sw7hoJohnny is a perfect example of Kreese’s philosophy done right. Kreese’s philospohy is burdened by war which is why it’s toxic. The writers acknowledge Kreese is clearly in the wrong.

A supposed villain will never see or view themselves as a villain. They just see things through a different lens. It's everyone else who seem to view their way as wrong. Most times they start off on a true path but stray away unfortunately

⁠@@dragonfire4527 He did show remorse for it. S4 we see him reflecting on him choking Johnny and because of that he tells Terry to back off. Kreese later recounts this as a moment of sympathy and Terry says that’s the first time he’s ever heard him do that. For the second time. Kreese says himself this isn’t how he wanted this to end. Meaning he didn’t want to kill Johnny. It makes sense cause we know flashbacks in S3 happened alongside their thinking processes. And Kreese was having flashbacks to how if he doesn’t shed his humanity he will die. Even then the screenplay says Kreese had a decision to make when he had the Sai in hand, which means he hadn’t decided to kill yet. In the screenplay Kreese’s hesistation is taken advantage of by Johnny who attempts to attack him, and then Kreese gets him into a chokehold.
