Sonia hit the mark with this one :my first thought was : "Ooo, very '80s". Speaking as someone who was a diehard metalhead in the 80s. And thereafter. 😎
I like that this one is slower and more GROOVY! Well done!!! 🔥 Is it just me or are the ladies’ hotness on EEELEVEN!!!🔥 Cobra Spell 4 LIFE!!! 🤘🐍🎶🎸🎸🎸🥁🎤🎶🥃🍺🤘
I meet Alex Panza on his old thrash metal band "Endovein when I was 13yo, its great to see him now on Cobra Spell with new wave musicians like Sonia! lml
I found out about them after one of their previous videos got posted to r/Metal. After twenty or so years of ignoring what's current, I'm paying attention again.
It's great how the band manages to keep their neon 80's aesthetics and have so much variation in their style. I'm not the kind of elitist duchebag who can't stand having repeated riffs or the same music again and again with different lyrics -it's a pseudo-debate not worthy of polluting a comment section-, but my love for cobra spell is largely (but not only) due to the fact that each song has its musical and affective print that makes the band's aesthetic recognisable. And we also have the clip as a video! I'm captivated by the shot contrast between the industrial hangar with its deep field of view and the space to capture the drums (it's rare to see the drummer that clearly in a clip) and the moves of the band playing instrument, shifting with the close shot at the bar embracing the whole crew (including non-musicians who contributed to Cobra Spell behind the scenes, which is rare too!) with one common feature : Sonia playing her guitar. It's beyond words to make justice to the music and cinematic qualities of the clip. As an amateur director, it's the kind of stuff I try to emulate. It's a glimpse of what the 80's have to be remembered for frozen in time. In a nutshell: thank you cobra spell for existing! You are bigger that many people will see.
I was heartbroken when SONIA left Burning Witches but she has definitely landed back on her feet. Quite impressive just to be 22 years old. Loving this new Cobra Spell song. Awesome 80s flavored song.
I was also heartbroken hearing that Sonia left Crypta not quite sure what happened I thought that band had something really special going on.. .....oh well.....I guess not
This sounds very 80's but modern so I dig it, same reason I dig the band Liliac. Both these bands are bringing back that 80's feel but also being modern. Cobra Spell just got themselves a new sub.
This tune rocks big time Sonia and Cobra Spell! Loved Sonia's solo🎸 like Warren demartini from ratt. The video location and Angelina on the bar and esmee too. Leonard and alexx great as well. Like way cool jr with the bar 🍸 😎 and everything. Great job guys! Cobra spell rocks! Keep up the amazing work! 👏 hell yeah!!
Yes Well Done Cobra Spell 👍 from Perth Western Australia & understand Sonia choosing to Devote All Her Effort Into this band as a original Australian KISS Army Veteran - Rock On Sister ☝️🙃
If you're not listening to Cobra Spell, you're doing Metal wrong. This song has such great Whitesnake vibes for me. I've been spinning the EP pretty much every single day for the past month or so.
Straight-up Rock and Roll. Awesome. Rock is not dead and it never will be. It's just sleeping in America because of the music industry. Cobra Spell will be superstars in Europe, Japan, and South America.
FINALLY❣️ music I can listen to and not want to blow my brains out from boredom ,l feel my teenage self screaming inside with sheer and utter joy.thank you leap frog for helping me find you.
This is fantastic. Modern day hair metal throughout. I can put this together with all my favorites from the 80's and 90's and it fits right with them. Keep up the good work!
Gott Dayum this is some phenomenal 80s ROCK music. Respectfully ladies, please do get your asses to the US soon. And while I loved Sonia in Burning Witches, I gotta say I understand now why ANUBIS was worshiped as a God..
I think Its a good great mix between,. Gnr, skid Row and any other hair metal band from the eighties....love those women....mmm... Nice voice Man...drummer's Also fine....good work! Greetings from Argentina
great to see the younger generation keeping the 80s hard rock and heavy metal alive today. Just unfortunate the majority of the people who grew up listening to the 70s and 80s bands don't give new music the same support. They just want to be "old school " and live in the past.. It's a shame. Cobra Spell, Striker, Enforcer, Ambush, Eternal Champion, Night Demon, Haunt, SkullFist, H.E.A.T, Eclipse, Girish and the Chronicles, Bloody Heels, Dangerous Curves, Crazy Lixx, all these bands should be opening for the legacy bands.
I was born in 1970 and am having a blast checking out all these newer harder/melodic rock acts. As a matter of fact most of my workout and running music contains nearly equal parts classic and new music. But agreed many people my age have turned a tone deaf ear to this stuff.
Love many of these bands, and I was really disappointed to see that Espionage from Australia called it quits. Their latest 2 song preview was amazing and I was looking forward to the full album release.
If you think recreating the worst thing that ever happened to metal (hair/glam "metal") is "good" for metal today, then i dont know wtf is wrong with you.
That's a pretty crappy statement dude, those of us that grew up through the 70's/80's are not "living in the past" or being "old school" we are simply honouring the LEGENDS and the "originators" if you wish. There are great bands out there today - Nightwish, Amorphis, Crystal Lake, etc etc but how can you compare today to the raw power, talent and vision of that era 40 - 50 years ago, with NO technology compared to today - Motorhead, Maiden, Priest, Sabbath, Scorpions, the list goes on and on sorry to say, but the likes of legendary bands of that era will not come again and I haven't even mentioned the likes of Rush, Triumph, Zeppelin, Floyd,- LOL today is simply not anywhere near the same league. But that doesn't mean we can't appreciate what is out there today i and many other of my Gen are big fans of some of todays really good bands and you'll still see us at live shows, some bald, some fat but still keeping the faith and head banging. lighten up dude.
