I lived in Hong Kong back in 77 to 80. Like you I very nearly stood on a many banded Krait so consider myself very lucky. My Dad used to take me on walks into the hills looking for snakes which has given me a life long love for all snakes.

I like the manner you film,very clear descriptions and great camera work. I will mention your channel as you deserve more subs.. I loiter Mirza Md Arif channel and must be a youth laughing at me for saying Banded Krait will eat Small common indian cobra's,but I have seen them doing this. I was looking for a video I watched of one doing so when I found your channel.. Your filming is elite like "Living Zoology" filming in Africa,Costa Rican jungle. Hope you can get around in same way because your technique will make for great Video's,top channel.. Excited to root through your library on my saturday..Salute!!!!

Came across a monster python the other night. A good 12 ft long. Next to a stream head pointed up waiting to catch a bat I think

That’s amazing and a big size too! Python encounters are always my favorite!

Never had a night quite like that finding a Naja and 2 Bungarus species in a row, that's insane.
@SnakeIDTV
@SnakeIDTV 4 года назад
Yeah it was an awesome night. In Hong Kong the Naja and the B. multicinctus are pretty common which is awesome, but the B. fasciatus is far less common so made for a crazy night. Seasons just getting into full swing here too so fingers crossed for more great nights!

I have been hiking for more than 20 years in HK and very rarely see any snakes. How can you find so many in one walk please?
@SnakeIDTV
@SnakeIDTV 4 года назад
Well you have to know what you are looking for and keep your eyes peeled the whole time. You can’t tell in the video but I actually walk quite far for many hours when finding these as well so quite a bit of sweat equity goes in too.

What is the difference between King cobra and Common Krait snake pls tell me sir
@SnakeIDTV
@SnakeIDTV 4 года назад
Common Krait is a name for a species normally found on the Indian subcontinent as opposed to Hong Kong but in general there are many differences as they are two very different species. The King is HUGE when full grown often exceeding 3 or 4 meters, the krait is about 1 meter at most when mature. The King is usually light brown, often with clear bands on the body, the krait is usually black with white markings. The King raises up and displays a hood when threatened, kraits hardly react at all unless touched. You can compare more differences on my website here www.hongkongsnakeid.com, but these are some of the big differences.

@@SnakeIDTVSo you are saying that Banded Krait’s venom can kill King Cobra? You are out of your mind king cobra is the longest and the strongest and the venomous snakes in the world. Krait’s venom will have no effect on King

@SnakeIDTV

In Hong Kong we have Chinese Cobras (Naja atra) similar to but a bit different from the Monocoled Cobras (Naja naja) in India and other parts of SEA.
