Another great video guys of a lovely place, I would just like to say that I have suffered a bit with depression over the past few years, but Ashley your smile and laughter always manages to make me smile, so thanks for that 🙂
Since you're in Cochem already, are you going to visit Burg Eltz too? It's close. :D And so is Trier, Germany's oldest town. Trier was founded by the Romans and served as one of their capitals - it was even referred to as "the second Rome" for a while and the Roman Emperor had a residence there. Trier is a beautiful ancient city with many archaeological monuments, so if you still have the time, definitely go check it out while you're in the area!
Thanks to the both of you for the great vlog and your awesome mission statement. "Josh with the good hair" 's ;) calm narratives and explanations are a great counterpart to Ashley and her infectious, heart warming, honest smiles, giggles and laughter. Lovely to watch. You make a great team. All the best to you both, and "bon voyage" always!! :)
Cute is an understatement . And that music, especially @5:00. Perfect. I feel the heart strings being tugged. Not the first time. Ash and Laura looking up inside that castle..I sensed their awe.
I just returned from 3 weeks in Europe with my kids (13 and 12). We just missed you in Paris by a day. Your Germany videos are fueling our next travel dreams. I haven’t driven in Europe in 20 years, but I might try it next time. I love seeing Laura with you. I see her frequently in Jay’s videos too.
1:05 The paper plate you had the sausage served on had a small perforated piece at the end. This is usually pulled-off and used to grab the sausage so that your fingers don't get fatty.
If you still in the Mosel area you should visit Burg (castle) Eltz. It's the only castle still in possession of it's noble family. Also a very beautiful town at the Mosel river is Bernkastel-Kues. Look up Trier for it`s Roman remains or Koblenz for it`s Prussian fortress.
Glad you had good weather to film. We visited on May 21st and it was raining. We had the same tour guide.😀. I enjoyed the views from the other side which we didn’t see because of the rain. Not much fun taking the chair lift in the rain. I’m to show your video to my family so they can see a quality presentation of where we visited.
First visit was by coach from UK, got about two hours in Cochem, on a half day tour, impressed with Germany, the rhine and mosel the following year we drove and made Cochem our base for touring the area and by chance saw the medieval festival. the medieval festival held in the castle grounds usually in August is a great time also to visit, 8 euro last year, google medieval festival reichsburg cochem for complete info.
I love that you guys really focus on Europe! My fiance and I are going to start travelling to Europe once we get married and your videos really help us figure out where we want to go! This place looks so cool, but I'm still obsessing over your dusseldorf video haha♡♡♡
Love your site. To make it more exciting, when taking tour of castle, show more of inside. Seeing a tour of the mustard factory would have been nice to see, also any shop that they may have had. Tour of shops and restaurants during your trip would be great.
near cochem is Burg Bischhofstein, which is a castle owned by my former school, so we went there for 1 week every year xD its so nice xD its also cool to sleep in the castle xD
Really nice video. Since youre already in that area and you seem to like castles, check out Burg Eltz. It's completely original and imho the best, 'most medievel' castle in Germany.
i used the wallpaper of the mosel river. i just noticed that they have railway along with the river. 9:40 to where or from where does the railway connect? i mean can i go there by train from big famous stations?
Great video as usual. I’ve been binge watching your videos for days now.... I adore you both and particularly your more intimate Way More chats. You are both so stylish and I was wondering how you manage travelling with a variety of clothes and clothes for different climates?
Don't shout too loud about the Mosel. My family and I can often be found in the area on holiday It's also hopefully where will live at some point. Enjoy, it's wonderful.
As always, Beautiful video History: during the early years people would drink the wine beer spirits. Because they are not acclimated to the bacteria in the water of the different territories. Alcohol will kill the bacteria and also prevent sickness. Enjoy
Hiya. That was a wonderful travelogue, too good to just call it a vlog. And the music! How long does choosing it take? Your channel is rocking now, why you're stuck on 192k subs I just don't know. You make other channels look like the Ads! All the best to you.
cochem is one of the youngest towns in germany .it was only built about 50 years ago after the english and americans bombed it to pieces in the second world war.
Hey guys, If you are interested, I am in Heidelberg Germany, this is a student city with Germany's first ever University. I can help you get a cheap place or something. idk if you want hmu.
Then you really should start with Cochem. Was there for a classtrip as kid. Get a stay a bit higher, the castles get lighted at night and you can see 2 till 4 of them at once at the right spot! We have so much castles, Neuschwanstein the castle disney used as inspiration or at the Rhein river, and the old towns are beautiful too, some have spots like in fairytales! Have a great time here!
You need to visit Dresden..Potsdam..Schloss Wilhelmshöhe.. Schloss Drachenburg .. Schloss Schwerin asides from Bavarias Castle..Germany have over 26 000 Castles !
Beautiful city and castle. On the entrance ticket was written 'für Mannsbilder und Weiberleut', which means 'for men and women' but in a old fashion german (also the word for the women is kind of deprecative, from old times). Also the film making and editing is awesome, some of your best work in my opinion. 👍
Beautiful castle! I didn’t get to this part of Germany when I visited but definitely need to. And I agree girl, I like the fantasy of castles as well 🤪
Cochem has been on my bucket list for awhile now. It looks so pretty! Fantastic video with perfect background music. I can never get enough castles! I'm with you, Ashley, and tend to think of the fantasy side of them. I am enjoying your Germany videos so much! My family and I will be there in 2 months so watching your travels are making me even more excited to get there!
Thanks for the video! I was debating whether if I should go straight from Frankfurt to Cologne or stop in Cochem and you just answered my question! Will be in Germany in 3 weeks!!! :)
the Buchel airbase is right around the corner about 15-20 minute drive from Cochem. If you are passionate about plane watching, there are dozens of Tornados taking off, landing and doing fly bys each day. You can hear them at night as well, and if you look you can see the engine glows. Further down, south of mannheim (2 hours drive away) are the absolutely amazing museums of Speyer and Sinsheim. They are both open air and in doors. One of the 3 Buran space shuttles is there for you to go inside in, as well as an actual Soyuz capsule that went to space. There's also a huge expo of military vehicles (wwii up to modern day), a real concorde and its soviet counter part, a 747 and lots of jets, tons of cars (formula 1, rally, old, new, weird, exotic, a delorean, countach, etc.), locomotives. I would plan 2 days for those museums alone. They are also very kid friendly, in fact when I went, I frequently saw families teaching their kids about all the engineering marvels. There are also other cool things to visit, the nuclear bunker in Ahrweiler (which you passed), the Ordensburg Vogelsang together with Monschau and Niedegen. Yeah :) tons of cool places
You are lovers of old castles? You visited Burg Cochem? And you did NOT visit Burg Eltz? Ouch! There you are probably a little off the mark. From Cochem to Burg Eltz it is not even 30 km. As a lover of old German castles you have to practice a little bit!
lovely tour!!! nice shots & background music!!! How did you ever come to find this little town? Cannot believe it's such a tourist spot. Just recently read that Europe is being inundated with tourist. not fun for the locals. Ashley, i can see you as a princess living in a castle and Josh is your prince charming! :)
