Cockatiels make wonderful household pets with their chatty, friendly personalities. However, they can also suffer from extreme night terrors since they are sensitive to shadows and unexpected noises.[1] During these episodes, your bird might make distressed sounds and flap around its cage in a frenzied way. If your cockatiel has night frights, try to make their sleeping environment as peaceful as possible. In addition, work with your vet to determine any underlying physical causes, such as a vitamin deficiency.
